It's unfair to expect 18 year olds to be proving themselves as regular first team players given that very few players at that age really show themselves as real stars for the future. In the past 15 years or so, I only really can think of Ronaldo (the Brazilian), Messi and Pato to announce themselves as stars on the International stage before they reach 21. Others, like Ronaldinho, Seedorf, Pirlo and now Merkel were viewed as potentially great players before 21, but most didn't really hit the top until they were about 23-24, and that list I would say includes Zidane, Gattuso and Henry. Then there are also those who mature very late, as we've seen with Toni, Drogba and Di Natale in recent years.
Point is that we need patience with young players. Merkel's currently making news in Milan after breaking through this season, with Strasser doing the same to some extent. However, there's a long way to go before they mature into regular first team players and be able to shoulder the responsibility we hope them to, and there's always the risk of them never reaching their potential or falling under the weight of expectation (Michael Owen is a good example). Verdi, Berretta, Fosatti and others all have a lot of potential and they are showing this. All have the possibilities of reaching the top, but the likelihood is not all will. Our responsibility is to give them the opportunities to prove themselves at the club.
We've been linked with multiple players today, but one name that resurfaces is Kevin Constant.
Has anyone seen his recent matches for Chievo? Is he playing well? How would he fit into our team/squad?
From what little i've seen he looks like a box-to-box player rather than a defensive midfielder. He also seems capable of scoring a few goals - so maybe a good addition?

From what I've seen of Kevin Constant he would be just a squad player. I think we need players that can take us to another level, both in Serie A and in Europe. I can't see Constant being that player.

As issued on Borussia Dortmund official website, Turkish international playmaking midfielder Nuri Sahin (22), probably leaving after the end of current season in order to join Serie A, Premier League or Spanish Liga, will be out for the missing part of Bundesliga, due to a bad knee injury. Sahin is tracked, among the others, by Inter and AC Milan.
i'd also would like to have Hernanes too. But Constant as a reserve, rotation player, he would be a good signing.
