Pato all set for Corinthians move

Alexandre Pato is just one meeting away from leaving Italian giants Milan for Corinthians, his agent has confirmed.

“I think that everything will be sorted out in a couple of days at the maximum,” representative Gilmar Veloz told the Brazilian media.

“Milan and Corinthians are a step away from an agreement for Pato’s transfer. There is just one more step, a meeting between the Brazilian club and Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

“Corinthians have agreed to everything which Milan have asked for,” he continued.

“The transfer will be on a permanent basis seeing as nobody will loan you a player who is 23-years-old. Pato received other offers too, but he decided that he wanted to return to Brazil.”

The Brazilian international will cost the South American outfit around €15m.

Galliani is also in Brazil hoping to find a buyer for striker Robinho as he too has asked for a January transfer home.

Alexandre Pato has officially completed his transfer from Milan to Corinthians for €15m, pending a medical.

The striker had made it clear he wanted a return to Brazil this month and negotiations were finalised with Vice-President Adriano Galliani this evening.

At 21.00 GMT Corinthians announced the deal was complete and released a picture of Pato wearing their team jersey.

“Over the next few days Pato will undergo medical tests and sign the four-year contract. Corinthians have bought 100 per cent of the economic rights of Pato for €15m.”

The statement also confirmed in future sales, Corinthians are to gain 60 per cent of the rights and Pato would get 40 per cent.


What is happening in the world of football, a brazilian team can spend 15 million on a player while the mighty Milan can't, it's so sad.

I'm not sad. Marco's career in Milan was blighted with injuries too but he at least really shone in a season or two, winning us scudetto, CL, and top-scorer title for himself. Pato has always been about unfulfilled potential. So thanks and goodbye Duck, fun while it lasted.
