Overvalued? He went for 3M Loan with another 6M to make it permanent. The 6M is an OPTION. Total 9M for a high quality Box 2 Box midfielder. What's the risk in that deal???

Maybe WCMilan was referring to the earlier circulated figure of close to 20M for the full ownership value of Nainggolan. Wasn't the first time that some club tried to screw Milan for a lot of money, but turned around and sold the same player at a much lower price to another club.

I have just one bone to pick with Galliani. Doesn't he always boast that he has so many friends here and there? Isn't Cellino supposed to be one of his best friends?

Nobody pays 3 mil for a 5 month loan. Nobody. That's just idiotic. That 3 million has to be a part of the valuation somehow. But in any case....Roma has the option to purchase 50% of Naingolan for 6.5mil on top of the 3mil loan. Which means Roma will have paid 9.5mil this summer (3mil loan + 6.5 for 50%) and will still only own 50% of Radja. If they want to fully own hom they have to dish out whatever the other 50% is worth at that time. Looking at today's valuation, that's 6.5mil. So if we go by today's figures Roma will pay 16mil when its all set and done.

I do understand what you are saying though. Who cares if you fully own him or not as long as he is playing for you....and Roma has done that. They have Radja in their squad till June for 3 mil, and they can have him for another season after that for an additional 6.5 mil.

And I guess you are right. However, as tight for cash as we are, and as type of a player that Radja is (I don't think he is what we need), and with the valuation that was put to him.....I'm personally glad we didn't buy him. If we already have that money ten lets use it on a different type of a player.

This all goes back to my first sentence about the 3mil loan. I don't believe for one second that this is a loan, but just a part of the valuation....which puts Radja's at 16mil......and that's too much. This is just a way to spread the payment of some sort.

I don't think this is a good deal, FOR US. It's a good deal for Cagliari and for Roma. Cagliari got their money.....Roma got their man, even if by somebody's books they may have overpaid a couple mil. It's not a big deal. You have to identify the target and see what value he represents to you. To Roma, Radja represented that value. To us, it didn't and I actually agree with that. That's the way it works. We need to now identify our target, and figure out what value he will be to us. Then go, and close the deal....even if other teams may think we overpay. However, this is exactly where the problem lays for us......and this is what's frustrating all of us.

In that case, I do think that we cannot afford him. It is true that Nainggolan would be a useful addition to our team and certainly Allegri would welcome him because of their former work relationship, but he is probably out of our range right now.

I know that I sound like Galliani, but I would be content if we buy no one as long as we offload useless players. We still need good central defenders, but other than those two positions, we have a rather competitive first line-up (without adequate backup though).

Another question: Will Nainggolan assume a starting spot in Roma's midfield? They have so much quality there, and I can think of De Rossi, Strootman, Pjanic already, also Ljajic, Bradley.

I'm not sure if Radja will crack that line-up unless they change their tactics a bit. He does give them options however and even more depth. I wouldn't be surprised if the offload someone too. There's been rumors of PSG wanting Pjanic.

I heard of Pjanic rumor too. Still, Roma has a great midfield, and to me it is almost unthinkable that they spend so much money on potentially just depth.

I'll just reply with a simple lol. It's clear that you initially thought the 9.5M was for his full ownership when you replied to me, while it was only half of him. It's a lot easier to just admit you made a mistake than to post figures and give your logic from the original post a complete 360.

The fact that you dont know the guy tells a lot on its own. However, if a club like Poto sells for 3 million that is another indication of the shit of player he is. We all know how much Porto is self aware in valuating their assets ( Falcao, Moutinho, Rodrigues, Hulk,etc)
