Summer Mercato 2011
It seems 4 Primavera players have been chosen to be included in first team in the same way as Merkel and Strasser this season (playing when there are a lot of players out/injured): Rodrigo Ely, Marco Fossati, Simone Calvano and Mattia De Sciglio. It seems it's a choice done by Allegri, and it also looks like he is very happy with the way Merkel, Strasser and Berretta played in first team.

Does that mean the last 3 will be regular first team players (squad player - bench) ? I think so, except maybe Strasser as he is already co-owned, he is older than the others and he got an injury when he could have had his best chance to play some games in a row ...

I'm glad to see that we have a coach who wants to work with the Primavera (that means we have a long term club project, and not only a short term first team project).

So stop laughing at Juventus !
yes, Banega would be a good option to replace Pirlo if we can't get Hernanes. He is technically brilliant, has a wide array of passing skills, he perhaps lack Pirlos vision, but then again, how many players can math Pirlos vision? perhaps the only players who are on his level or close to it are Xavi, Xabi and Fabregas. edit: I forgot to add sneijder
@WCMilan

The first rule in Italian football is that if you play (2) CM, one is creative and attacking, and one is defensive and more physical. Therefore your theory of playing Ganso & Hernanes in Central Midfield absolutely 100% will NOT happen.

Secondly, no need to be scared about Robinho leaving, he's not going anywhere. Who told you he was being sold?

In regards to overall discussion, we certainly have to cut the squad size down. Personally 35 ----> 25 Players seems a bit drastic. Perhaps 28 Players is a perfect squad size.

Next, we cannot really discuss who we will get UNTIL we know who we will release. If we get rid of Pirlo & Seedorf which is highly likely IMO, then we will need at least 1 creative type midfielder along with a true ACM (Lamela/Ganso).
Van Bommel will start at CDM with Ambro to replace him. I think that's what Allegri wants and will do.
In other news, seems like Inter are closing in on Hazard. The initial offer will be of 15 mln, but it could become more.
im watching Milan-inter Primavera game, 1-1...Strasser assisted for Berretta... We played a lot better than them, Difference between us and them, Their GK stopped our attacks... Strasser was the best player in the first half...Calvano was again impressive... Pasini looked average to me, i really dont know why Stroppa plays him over Ely who is considered as a big prospect...Our defence has problems but we are dominating in attack...

For me Calvano is 1 level ahead of others...

i have questions over Hazard, he moves a lot, he dribbles well and pacey but he is weak for Serie A and his finishing is not very good... i read a news on today's GDS which says they offered 15 m euros for Hazard and replace Sneijder with him...
I don't think Hazard will leave Lille this summer ... He's a smart kid with his parents who try to monitor him and his career to avoid any mistake. He already admitted his dream was to play in a big club, but if he stays in Lille one more year, he will get some experience in CL as a starter, which will help him then whereas if he goes to Inter, he could be on the bench for most of the time. I really think he will stay one more and last year in Lille before joining one of the top European clubs.

Inter would accept Man U's offer for Sneijder, so I think they expect Hazard to be a starter for them.
Inter is stupid to sell someone like Sneijder, as he is the only young, exp, and WC midfielder they have.

I think we can all agree on that Okmilan

But seriously, the offer would be around 40 mln euros. Moratti has the financial fair play rule in mind, so it could be an interesting offer for him. As you said on the other hand Sneijder is a truly world class player and young too. I don't see how getting Hazard would be a tremendous improvement.

Also there are talks about Besiktas offering 18 mln for Maicon. On top of that there is Man City who want Eto'o for insane amounts; 50-60 mln.

If Inter do sell big this summer, they would have to refresh the squad with youngsters. If they want well established star players they will just end up spending all the money of the sales and not accomplish anything economically. The problem for them is that youngsters, as promising as they may be, wont come in handy for challenging for Europe and maybe not even Italy. Think carefully, Moratti.
As much as I hate Inter, I really don't want them to be weak. Rather I want them to be good but just not as good as Milan.

18mil will be a good offer for Maicon, as they can play Santon as RB and leave Nagatomo in LB. I think Eto might go to ManCity in exchange for Tevez, which is a good deal for both clubs.
