When I said this I was banned for 6months at the other forum for being a "sexist"... Now the great Paolo Maldini says the same thing. I just don't see how a woman can control the technical aspects of the team/market. I just don't.

I also think it can't be any worse than Galliani, who is as awful as awful could be.

He said it depends on is hired , as in if good people are hired it will be good.
He did not say she can't do the job because she is a woman ,if it were a 29 yr old son he'd say the same ...that HE is not an expert on football on footballers.
Maldini is saying shes not an expert which she isn't.You're saying she can't because she's a woman and have been for quite some time.
Very different things.

Idk, affordable. At this point I'd rather a consistent player - any damn consistent have decent player, or a young prospect, than former stars who are finished like Essien(salary is an issue, but he'd be a good sub).
Looks better I'd bet it would be but Clasie Dzeko Cerci Santon Doria , thats ATM around (according to valuation) 75 million. If we sell Balotelli which I believe we will its still 35 million off and we still owe 10/15 million for Balotelli also we know that that Balo money would be used to make the books look better with no UCL.

True say, but I wasn't just referring to selling Balo. We should sell others as well. I know for sure that to get a squad as I mentioned above even with sales we'd need to invest at minimum 30-40mln euros ontop. But if management has any hope of being a decent squad then it's more than necessary.
Honestly, we shouldn't need a Balo sale to balance the books. If the team does as outsiders often say they are going to then this bloated team should have a lot of pricey driftwood shipped out in the summer. Those contracts are essentially going to pay for the lack of CL not the sale of those players. Balo's sale should be used to strengthen the team. It is just a matter of if we can rid our selves of the useless players which shackle our wage bill.
Milan have too many players that are on the payroll.

Loan out: Nocerino, Didac, Niang and Troare. Only Niang should return.
Loan from others: Rami, Silvestre and Traabalt. Only Rami should stay.

GK: Abbiatti, Gabriel, Amelia and Coppalla.
MIlan only need Abbiatti and Gabriel, then if anyone of them or even both get injured, just call up the youth GK.

CB: Bonera, Mexes, Zaccardo, and Zapata.
Add in Rami and Silvestre, and you have 6 CBs. I think all Milan need are three from those six, then have a youth CB as their 4th CB.

FB: Abate, Urby, DES and Constant.
One should leave while the 4th spot will go to youth team.

DM: DeJong, Muntari, and Essien.
CM: Poli, Monty, Cristante and Honda.
Think overall, 5 players for the two roles of CM and DM are more than enough, thus two players(Essien and Muntari need to leave).
AM: Saponara and Kaka
Both can stay for now.

ATTK: Pazzo, Mario, SES, Niang, Traabalt, Bisra, and Robinho
Traabalt, Bisra and Robinho should be gone.

Take those players out, Milan will have a squad of 19 players with three youth players as 3rd GK, 4th CB and 4th FB
Only getting rid of players won't make us much better, we also need to add some real quality. We have no players right now that are on top of the world. We have a couple of real talents, a few that are ok and the rest are either really bad or players that would be backup for backups in our teams of the last 25 years.

For me selling Balo isn't about balancing the books, but about rebuilding correctly.

Interesting article on Milannews originally from TuttoMercatoWeb...

I hope it's basically wrong, because what's said is just worrying. To summarise:

- The idea that Silvio would give Barbara full control of the club and Galliani wouldn't play a part is wrong.

- The only way Galliani is leaving is Berlusconi decides to sell (if so then I hope he sells!).

- Galliani has won over Silvio that he was wrong to go with Seedorf, as he wanted Prandelli this summer (this part I agree with).

- Galliani is basically telling Silvio that Seedorf has lost the dressing room.

- There were hints that Seedorf wasn't wanted when people close to Galliani attacked Seedorf before he even came in.

- Montolivo has been leading the rebellion against Seedorf amongst the players. His personal reason for doing so is that he's not playing all the time and wants to keep his place in the Italy world cup side. He also apparently didn't like being on the bench vs Napoli and Mexes being made captain.

- Apparently along with Montolivo, some young players and "senators" question the training methods.

- Galliani is also attacking Seedorf on not playing Honda and De Sciglio and others. Apparently, he also didn't like Seedorf meeting the ultras and apparently it's not good for Silvio either.

- Silvio doesn't like Seedorf's system (4-2-3-1) and didn't like Seedorf's public comment of revolution in the summer. If Seedorf's recent results didn't happen, all this would be kept within the company, but it's become more public due to the on field problems.

- Silvio wants Seedorf to go to 4-3-1-2 with Honda playing behind Kaka/Balo alongside Pazzini.

- Lazio and Fiorentina are key for Seedorf's future, as Silvio will use those matches to judge him. Apparently, Silvio's still hopeful of Seedorf becoming a great coach. If Seedorf fails and leaves, Tassotti would be caretaker.

- If Seedorf isn't a part of our future, Prandelli is in line as Sacchi recommended him. Another solution would be Inzaghi, although the club are afraid to burn him.

- Apparently Maldini coming back is a bridge burned completely. After his interview, apparently his attack on Galliani wasn't even liked by Silvio. Also Albertini is no longer in the picture for a position at the club. Well, if true this is just moronic, as quite frankly the truth hurts sometimes.

- The rejuvenation of the management will stop short with Sogliano taking Braida's role.

- Barbara can't force Galliani out and if he's dismissed then it'll cost 30m. As we are, the club would rather use that to invest in players than have to use it to pay of Galliani.

Essentially, if this is true, this club is outright fucked and we're well into the path of destruction and we're probably at the brink of no return, if that's even possible now.
What a mess!!!

I'm hoping for the day that Berlusconi decides to sell the club and a totally different management takes over. Untill then, Milan is fcked!
Who is this Bucchioni guy that he thinks he knows everything -- from the situation in the locker room to the meeting between B&G? That alone should raise suspicion. Personally, I don't buy it.

That said I like the idea of Prandelli being our coach. I know that won't be fair for Seedorf since he's barely given time to prove himself but as I've stated before I always think a role as director (something like Braida's old position maybe) is more suitable for him.
per l'amaro e il dolce
We are finished even if half of those points are true. We can easily become the next club people will be talking about in 50 years as 'remember Milan winning CL...'
I'm looking at this on the brighter side. I'm actually glad all of this came to light now. They've been hiding the problems for a long time. In my opinion, something like this HAD TO happen in order for things to change. Otherwise we were just going to be cruising along for seasons to come....sometimes making the CL and sometimes not...but really with no chance to win anything and just making up the numbers.

This will at least shake things up and at least the fans now know. Changes have to happen and they can't use the "we are good as we are" chit anymore. Clearly everyone knows what is happening....and even if not all of it is true, there must be some kind of fire where there is smoke.

It would have been ideal if the management were competent enough to change things without all of this getting out in the open....but clearly they didn't do that. They thought that the fans are just a bunch of sheep and they were going to lie and cover up all the nonsense. It's always someone else's fault. The coach (which they brought in), the players (which they assembled), the legends (who made history and bled on the field for the colors), the fans (who make football football).....yet never blame themselves!

I'm happy with all this criticism because it's the truth. Now hopefully someone does something about it!
There is still a bit of time but I don't see real evidence any criticism is leading to improvement, not yet.
