Asamoah didn't seem too impressive in yesterday's game. This was the first time I ever paid attention to him. Maybe he just had an off day. Wouldn't be too excited about getting him at this point. But I could live with signing him if we get a star at ACM.
Stop saying that Slowdorf is important to Milan and that Milan will lose in CL next year without him. If Milan signs players like Hernanes, Asomach, Sandro and Lucas for the midfield and let go Urby, Slowdorf and Flamini. Do you think Milan will still suffer in CL and that the midfield can't no longer hold onto the ball and be over-run b/c Mr. 4 time CL winner is no longer playing in Milan.
The last time I check, Milan got shut out by the Spurs in both games, a team barely made it into the Europa League next season.
As much as I think these old players deserve respect but there is a time when the club needs to move on and not hang on to past glory, there is also the time that the players must realize they no longer can play at the level require consistently. That is something players don't get. I still remember what Kala said about not playing in Milan, as he stated something like he was in good form and playing well but the coach/Leo never choose me. When I read that, I was like, what the heck is Kala smoking, as he has not play even average since 2004.

I agree and I'm shocked by some peoples comments defending Seedorf. It's hysterical. I say we make him scout or assistant coach, but as far as playing, his days in Milan should be over. We need new blood, and have in midfield for a few years now. Thank you for your service Seedorf, you're a Milan Legend and in our hearts, perhaps you can be a coach here.

I agree seedorf should go but at the same time he's a big influence to our youngsters merkel even said it himself, abate also stated once that he helped him improve.. seedorf is a very very very very very x10000 unique midfielder.. i know at his age he's not an asset anymore to our team but i hope if he does leave he comes back soon playing another role other then being a player, ill sincerely miss seedorf a lot, he's my favorite player out of everyone in question.. He's just unique, his style of play when he's on his game is just pure class how he spreads the ball with the outside of his foot dont think matched by many and how he holds the ball is also one of his great talents, but of course its time for him to leave!! id be disapointed if mngment kept him but i'd be very sad if he left ambro and nesta will be all thats left of our golden era, watching milan will be so different! they better come up with some champagne football but seriously to win us over

Gabriel i agree with most of your post and i usually agree with alot of them on the mercato threat because were usually along the same lines but i dont think we should offload urby just yet, give him anohter season a little more playing time.. He has good skill and from what ive seen at ajax a good shot with his left foot, he just needs to pace his runs with the ball better and learn how to hold his ground, alot of lanky not muscular players are good at it like hamsik for example, he doesn't ahve a problem under seria a conditions and he holds his ground well for such a skinny guy
I also can't decide if Seedorf should go or not. Definitely he shouldn't be starter. He could be sub and as Merkel stated, Seedorf helped him. We need kind of players who can teach and share their experiences to young players. But if Seedorf stay, Allegri could use him as starter pretty often and that is not good for Milan. He is just too old, he can't be a starter. Just take last game, Allegri even dared to field him as deep-lying play-maker even we have Strasser on the bench but Allegri put a more offensive player to substitute a defensive midfielder (Bommel). This kind of mentality from coach that I am afraid of, to trust old players so much.

I really don't mind having older players on the squad, but if they can't play consistently throughout the season, then it is pointless having them around. I also don't buy that they help younger players.....if thats the case, Baresi will be still playing for Milan.
People only want another year for Ambro, Slowdorf and even Gattuso is mainly b/c of sentimental values(which is great), and they think they will be good off the bench. But if having them is avoiding and slowing down Milan in getting players who are as good or even better than them, then it is stupid. Pls don't say stuff like Milan has no money to spend....since you will end up spending now than later. Or stuff like it is good to have them so guys like Merkel and Strausser and others can mature...how can youngsters get better if they don't have a chance to play real minutes. Now I am not saying to start Merkel and Strausser in a game together against Real or Barcelona in CL, but they still need to play in order to get exp.

Well, at least three have already said it. Pato (Cafu), Thiago Silva (with Favalli) and Merkel (Seedorf). It is not that you have to make rooms for old players even until they can't play. It is not wise. If players can ONLY help young players, why should they on the team? They can be junior coaches. The players should also give other values like ready to play when the team need them, sharing experience, being the players who can define the locker room atmosphere (for transition time), etc.
Young players can learn from any person and not only from the coach and his assistant. More experienced players can be source for young players to improve their qualities. It is not only in football but also other areas. So many examples can be drawn. If we, for example, who are not talented in football can learn from world footballer's videos or clips, why can't a young player learn from the world footballer directly, face to face? Especially the word footballer wants to help the young player? They are players who like to help other players and there also players don't care about other players.
