Darmian would have been excellent to have, but if I'm honest if he's valued at 18.5m like Jay said ManU were ready to offer, I wouldn't spend that money on a fullback. There are cheaper options, and for now we are well covered with DS and Abate, though we should keep our eyes on Santons situation but more importantly that Murru kid, he should be avail. cheap and he's just the type of player that fits our current situation, since we have DS and Abate he wont find much room, but he is a pretty raw talent in all honesty - we wont need to rush him to grow and he'll be good for the future.
Abate only seems to play amazing when he his contract is expiring, but what a player he could be. He went from literally seeming like he didn't even know how to take a defender to blowing by everyone down the flanks and almost always sending in threatening balls. Hopefully (if he does renew), he keeps it up. Our most recent link for the midfield is Lucas Silva, Brazilian midfielder who plays for Cruzeiro born in 1993 plays as a CDM, but started his career as a striker. He seems like a very good talent just from the videos, he's valued at 10mln euros but could go for cheaper, on the flip side he could go for more if we don't move quickly because both Chelsea and Madrid are beginning to be interested - which automatically rules us out IMO. http://m.milannews.it/calciomercato-mila...lan-158194

It pains me to see us not being able to compete with big clubs or even so called mid level clubs , Financially the whole of the EPL blows us away finacially , top 6/7 in La Liga Russian Ukranian clubs lots of Bundesliga clubs and the top French sides. Not to forget Inter Juve Roma Viola Lazio maybe Genoa. We have a huge problem and its lack of spending , the free loan cheap route will turn us into a mid table team , we're 70% there. In 10 years Milan have gone from the worlds best club top earners to earning a 1/3 of what Real Utd make a bit under half of what Bayern Barca make and will fall out of the top 10 this year. From UCL winners and contenders year in year out , to not even qualifying for EL and finishing 9th.

I think Abate's improvement is more related to Inzaghi's use of him rather than anything regarding his contract. For the moment, I'd push to get him to renew as he's a valuable player to the squad in general, but I'd try and secure Uchida too (who's about 1 and a half years younger) for a longer term solution. If Murru's available at a decent price, securing him would be good, though a lot depends on DES possibly being willing to move to RB in the future. Either that or seeing if Murru has a future at LCB. I've heard a lot of good things about Lucas Silva, he seems a genuine talent and one who has a good head on his shoulders. That said, Real are favourites to get him, with others like Chelsea seriously after him, so it's really difficult. Similar to William Carvalho, where I read Arsenal are prepared to make a massive offer for him in January. I agree with you completely regarding the conditioning of fans, but it is the reality of the situation, we know the club won't spend large (or any) sums like the biggest clubs. Truth is, the inflation in the modern game is just absurd and clubs are way overpaying (justifying the reaction of fans), but that's the modern game. Fact is, until there's a financial collapse, which I don't think is unrealistic to see happening in the future, then things will continue on this path. Milan needs investment, you can't build a competitive side with freebies, but that investment needs to also be smart and responsible, taking into account the financial risks of the industry. Guys like Lucas Silva and Carvalho shouldn't be close to impossible dreams as they do now, but terrible management leaves the club where it is today. The strange/worrying thing is the possible direction of clubs like Juve and Inter. It wasn't long ago that I held Juve up as a beacon of decent management, but questions must be asked as the growth they've shown in recent years appears to have halted quite a lot this past summer. As for Inter, they've just held up the Vidic signing as an example, which is just worrying for the club, but also a possible red herring. This is because they claim they will still invest in younger players too (citing Icardi, Dodo and Kovacic as examples), so it might be a reasonably structured approach, whereby they look to spend little to nothing on the short term requirements for the team, but then use that money to invest towards a long term future.

I believe that Pato is a Silva too - Alexandre Rodrigues da Silva.

I agree, if Madrid and Chelsea are interested in Lucas Silva its almost impossible he comes to us. The only small advantage we have over teams like this when it comes to signing talents is a much bigger chance at first team football. It would be extremely difficult for someone like Lucas Silva to get any caps with Real Madrid, or at least not many. However, they'll pay Cruzeiro a lot more if they have to and they'll definitely be able to pay the players demands even if they're ridiculous.

You say that, but how many of them will perceive first team chances coming their way? Generally speaking Milan have been atrocious in integrating young players into the side, certainly no better than even Real, Bayern or Chelsea.
Truth is, if I'm a young player and I have the chance to play under the likes of Guardiola, Ancelotti or Mourinho and play in the CL, or play in Milan in just Serie A, I'd probably take the offers from the other clubs. If Milan get William Carvalho, I have no doubts he'd be a starter (he'd be pushing for a starting spot in most top clubs tbh), but Lucas Silva isn't at that level at this point, he's very much a work in progress and requires some patience and growth. A general question to anyone who follows the Belgian league (if I remember correctly Beppe and Kastriot do), can anyone give some insight into Anderlecht's forward Aleksander Mitrovic. He's young and been linked to Milan, but other good sides too. Finally, Torres is apparently wanted by Roberto Di Matteo at Schalke: http://www.milannews.it/primo-piano/tutt...olo-158293 Di Matteo coached Torres for a short time while at Chelsea. I know what I'd do, but it appears Inzaghi doesn't want to let him go.
Berlusconi isn't stupid , he'd never sell Balotelli and sign Torres .They'd riot in Milan...remember that one.
Mitrovic is too expensive already , he's good but I'd prefer Kramaric , Inter are being linked to Kramaric though. Inter have apparently set their sights on Croatian striker Andrej Kramaric, whose contract is expiring. The 23-year-old Croatian international has scored two goals in his first three games for the Niko Kovac’s national side, as well as 14 goals in 11 games for Rijeka in the domestic League so far this season It is form that the Gazzetta dello Sport says has alerted the Nerazzurri to him and has seen them send out scouts to Croatia. Kramaric’s contract with Rijeka expires in June, but the club have an option to extend the deal for another year. It's quite obvious actually, because a coach will play whoever is playing better and is a better player, he sees this in training, and his job is to get results. Now where do you think Lucas Silva has a better chance of playing, at Madrid where he's competing with Khedira,Kroos,Modric,Illara, and co., or at Milan where he's competing with Muntari & Poli for a spot? Just refer to Casemiro, very similar. He wouldn't be ready to play in CL anyhow, so it would still be better for him to first get himself grounded and established over a season in Seria A, by the time we make CL he has a lot more time to grow and be ready to actually put out a positive CL debut. Ancelotti and Pep might be great coaches, but Inzaghi was a great player and will probably became a great coach, that's still an opportunity for any young player. |
