Honestly, i dont hink Pippo will be fire unless someone buy into Berlu amd Galli BS. Dev, as much as I love Sacchi to come back as Coach/ manager, he wont unless Milan goes out and sign Bale, James, Varane..Milan with its current crops of players are mid table to fighting 3rd at best in a weak Serie A. A lot need to change before we see Grande Milan and I am.not talking about two or three major signings.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want Sacchi back as manager or a coach, I don't think it's the right role for him now. What I think he should be is effectively a "consultant" to help develop the culture and a system of play at the club. Essentially, if the club is going to go down the route to building up a proper youth academy where players are developed internally, then there has to be a consistent philosophy of play at all levels, which I consider a part of a sporting culture at the club. For me, it's in the best interest of the club to look back to its history to help regain its identity, but also towards sporting success. In the Berlusconi era, Sacchi has had direct or indirect influence in all of the greatest sides. The first and probably greatest side was under his management, Capello's side was built from the foundations and group of Sacchi's side, while Ancelotti, who was one of the players who best understood Sacchi's ideas created the third great side. Therefore, for me it would help the club to get Sacchi to help influence the future of the club in transmitting his philosophy to the coaches today and working towards integrating youth to the senior levels (something not too different to his previous role in the Italian football set up).

The thing is, and I might be wrong, beside Maldini, There isn't really any great players who came up the youth rank. You can make the case of DES but that's still like two players in 25yrs. What I me trying to say is that Scchi might have the right philosophy for Milan right now, but when you look back at his side back then, most of the players were bought in by. Berlu instead of developed internally.
Honestly, I really don't see Milan righting the ship anytime soon unless Berlu spend 100mil in one transfer window and improve squad right away. Since Berlu and Galliani are not known for their patience in developing players. Look at the bright side, all the so call champions and players who they romance about are pretty much retired or already had a second coming to with Milan. Think the few that are left are Pato(who won't come back due to Lady B), Silva-whom I doubt and Ibra-too expensive.

No there were quite a few that came up through the youth ranks. Maldini stands out, but then there were Costacurta, Baresi, Filippo Galli, Albertini, Antonioli, a very young Francesco Toldo, Evani, Stroppa, Stefano Nava and Stefano Eranio. Some played important roles, others less so.
Bear in mind that others, like Simone or Donadoni grew up or developed in/or around Milan (the region) too. Berlusconi obviously neglected youth development, but the early sides of his Milan were still built around the foundations of the youth players coming through. Under Sacchi and Capello, the defence was almost completely built at home (Baresi, Costacurta and Maldini all homegrown), while Tassotti and Panucci both developed into top level talents at Milan at a young age. Albertini's commented on this matter recently actually, saying how back when he was in Milan, half the squad, if not more were made up of players either homegrown or developed within the region. Baresi and Billy both came before Maldini, Albertini is someone I failed to mention.
Thing is, unless Wenger or someone like him comes to Milan and change the culture and system from the Top. iE, let the Coach and Manager deals with transfer and youth development, kind of how the teams in EPL are doing, they let guys like Fergie, VanGaal, and Wenger handles all football related matters and let the GM, CEO and other suits handle all business related issues. Something I doubt the Milan current culture can adopt to.

Kohr is a midfielder and Baba a fullback, both 20 years old. Have no idea how good any of them are. Anyway, just rumours.

My point about all this is that Sacchi has generally been advocating a trust in young talents and giving opportunities to young (often homegrown talents). In his side and squad he did trust and build around a number of homegrown players, even in a period when Berlusconi wanted to buy and spend big for his own reasons. More than that, Sacchi's Milan was always a pretty young squad. If you look at the complete squad from 1988-89, when the team was at its peak, the average age was around 23.4. There were also only 2 players over the age of 30 back then, one was Giovanni Galli (the goalkeeper), the other Virdis, a backup for the attack. If you look generally at the main lineup, the average age increases to about 26 when at its best (i.e. the Real 5-1 win and Steaua 4-0 win), which is the ideal sort of age you want a side to be. Most of that side were around 25 or 26, the same age as Poli and Bonaventura now, both of which are considered young in Milan and Italy of late. It's for this reason I think Sacchi is helpful to rebuild, as I genuinely believe his ideas are to build around young players organically.
