I'm American and I watched Oguchi play in MLS. He was never good - even by MLS standards. But then somehow he was the best CB in the confederations cup in 2009 and that brought him to Milan. Sometimes I have a good week at my job, but they don't promote me to CEO because of it.

So true. But if you were working for Milan they could promote you to a full back.
Hell, even Jaap Stam gave it a try.

He reminds me of Michael Owen. Both are fast players and attract the world with their speed.

Owen was faster than Ronaldo, than Sheva, than Henry, than almost every forwards. People (English, of course) even said he could have broken 100M transfer record. However, he becomes slower and slower after each serious injury, and all the big teams & NT forget him.

Bale also relies much on speed and is now regarded as injury-prone. Without speed, Owen still has his deadly finishing. Without speed, Ronaldo was still one of the best Brazilian technician, his finishing was even better than Owen and more powerful. Without speed, Bale's shoots, passes, tactical awareness,... are normal.

Bale is too young, he can develop more. However, the risk is high if we sign him. His price tag is crazy, I doubt any team, except Man City could afford. Everyone is waiting and reassessing his value.

How he played against inter that day although being one game is enough to let me call him world class, having a great performance against one of europes top teams is one thing, but playing on tottenham and completely tearing apart one of europes top teams is a different story, but then again everything he did in this game was all to thank to his speed on the ball

I admire his speed, too, and his performance against Inter was very pleasing If this player can train himself to save his sprints for the right moments, like Messi, he will rarely get exhausted, injures himself less and becomes a better player.

Therefore, playing him more central and nearer to the goal could be more effective. I like him to be more like Messi than Robben.

Pato is the same, he should play SC and spends less time on the wings or staying deep. Let Ibra with his rambo body do these tasks.

Galliani: Pastore and Hamsik are not LCM. We already have Boateng and Seedorf for ACM. There is no Mr.X or Y, LCMs are: K.Asamoah, G.Bale and R.Van der Vaart. C.Fabregas is too expensive.

If his word is true G.Bale suits a "gift" the most.

Tottenham should be realistic. They can not bring Bale to next level while the risk he gets injuries and price drop are there to consider. 25-30M for him is the right amount, IMO.

I'm not sure what you could possibly be basing that on since he never suited up for Milan except for a couple of friendlies in which he actually showed some things of promise and some things that needed work. At the time Milan signed him he had been a standout for several years for Standard Liege and was a rock on defense for both club and country. Once he came back from his serious injury he wasn't nearly up to par for the USMNT last summer and maybe will never be the same again. But when Milan signed him he had some promise and might have developed into a player who could have helped the squad. We'll never know how helpful he might have been, but I don't think it's fair to say he was awful. He wasn't anything, really, since he was seriously injured before he had a chance to play.

Other than the friendlies and before the injury, he played 3-4 times as a substitute. I know this is less than a handful of games but when u manage to do NOTHING right every time, it is hard to wait for a 29 yr-old to improve on that.

- Leo wants Borriello at Inter to replace Millito.
- Amelia is "ready" if there is an offer from Roma, as he is a fan.

Firing Leo and luring Moratti to get him (i'm happy they finished 2nd so they don't fire him) is proving our best piece of business as a lot of us predicted.

Borriello to replace Milito would be a good move for Inter as Milito isn't the player he was before his injury anymore ... Actually, Inter can buy 10 WC players (so, not Borriello), I don't care as long as their coach is Leonardo because he will keep using Eto'o on the left, someone on the right, and Borriello or Pazzini or whoever else in the centre of the attack, he will keep using a 4-3-3 even if that doesn't work very well and he will keep being bad in the defensive preparation of his team.
