Primavera, Futuro players

It's a pity that we're not in the CL. Our youth players would be getting good experience playing in the Youth CL against the youth teams of the best teams around the world. That would be a better measuring stick of the quality of our players on a global scale. I remember Cristante scored a scorcher against Barcelona (although we lost over the two legs)

Yeah, I know what you mean, but really at this point the focus should be to have people giving them the right support and advice to make it at the top. The problem is, who do they look up to?

As an example, Maldini, at the time when he broke through not only had Liedholm as coach and Baresi alongside him, he also had Capello advising him and then Sacchi in the first team, never mind his father at home. Compare that to the names around these kids today.

Apart from Tassotti, who is supposed to guide El Sha and De Sciglio? Brocchi seems to be doing a good job at the Primavera as the players speak highly of him, much highly than they ever spoke about Pippo. But at the first team level, if you are a young player, all you see is a first team of non leaders (as Abbiati has always been the silent one), an undeserving captain, and assorted players who are just there to collect the wages. I don't think guy like Menez, Alex or Mexes are concerned about being role models for young players.

I think Tassotti's lost a lot of the respect he had (unfairly) after Allegri left, at least that's the impression I get. I think it's time he moved on, for his own career because I think at Milan his time is pretty much up.

Bear in mind Inzaghi was very highly regarded last season with the Primavera, though personally I like the way Brocchi sets up his side more (it's a more compact, high pressing unit).

Saw that a little earlier. Extremely pleased for him, he's a quality player when I've seen him in Primavera and it's nice to see him being given chances.

Rodrigo Ely back to Milan. Apparently Mihajlovic wants to give him a chance in the pre season before deciding whether to send him or loan or to play him in the first team.

I don't buy that for one second. Mino Raiola is his agent.....this is probably a favor to him so he can do a favor with Ibra. Somewhere, somehow, there's money in this for the fat bustard. We either give Ely exposure during the summer and someone wants to sign him, which means money for Raiola....or there's money in it for him now.

BUT, I would like to think that this kid can turn into something.....haven't heard much about him for a few years though. He dissapeared after he was said to be pretty good when we first got him.
