Summer Mercato 2011
Well, considering 5-8 mil is What Milan paid for Papa. I would say 10-15 mil is a fair price a not a star attacking player. Hahaha.

For real, I really don't see why some of you still think Milan can't splash out money for a superstar, since they have the money it is whether they have the will to spend or not.

I think the splash will be Ganso @ around 20 million - but not 40-50 million for a guy like Cesc. And it's not that they can't as much as they won't. They certainly haven't in the last 5+ years (at least when compared to teams like ManU Chelsea Barca Madrid etc). Seriously, when was the last time we spent over $20 million on a player? Yes Ibra, but that was insured by it being a loan without an obligation to buy.

And Sylrus - unfortunately, star players that have attacking ability cost minimum of $15 million and even that is on the low side (unless they are old). The fact that Witsel (who is not a "star" but more of a promising youngster with very good potential) is rated at $15 million, I seriously doubt you are going to find established star level players cheaper than that. Just telling it like it is....
Just saw the Brazil squad, where are Hernanes, Jucelei and Hulk? It is strange that Lucas from Pool got pick over Hernanes.
If a club wants to remain among the big 20 million is and should be a regular occurrence. Financial fair play and a good youth scheme might 'improve' future spending scenarios but if 20 million is too much then the team will eventually drop off the trophy charts. In my mind there is no doubt this is true, especially for European ambitions.
I just saw this rumor that we have menez as payment for Borriello.

I've tried to steer clear of the "money talk" which is greatly associated with 'transfers'. It is very important to try to grasp the understanding of what "money" is. Money in the modern time is actually currency. Currency is a fake system which money can be created out of thin air through the use of debt.

Now, this is relevant because teams like Real Madrid & Barcelona may appear "richer" than all others, but in fact they are running up massive, massive, massive amounts of debt (fake money). That cannot go on forever, so we must be very careful when saying they are richer than other teams.

AC MILAN refuse to to go into the debt that other teams are currently in. Berlusconi, for whatever reason unknown to us fans, does not want to go into his pockets 75-100 million Euros per year for transfers. Milan will continually look for value transfers. I think Ganso will come, but Galliani will make sure to get him at the best price. I think Milan want to improve the squad but not at "ALL COSTS". The idea of getting Hernanes, Ganso, Sandro, Fabregas, Hamsik, Pastore, etc just won't happen. We'll be lucky to get (1) of this quality.

In short, I think transfer fees have gotten wayyyy out of control (similar to housing prices in the West), and all bubbles come to an end. $15 Million for a guy like Witsel who I've never heard of is ridiculous. This has only been possible through the creation of debt. Don't fall for it....and I don't think Berlusconi has...

that sucks. I don't want Menez. Not that I don't like his talent, but I think he is too inconsistent and unpredictable.

Can we get De Rossi instead? Devilol

another rumor. Ganso might actually play in copa libertadores final next week and Galliani & Braida are supposed to fly out to see him play:
