I was hoping we'd get anyone but Soriano, I tend to think he's just another rotational player. Is he really any better than NDJ or Montolivo (quality wise) ?
Again, that's not to say that Witsel is but in my personal opinion, he did have that something more. If we directly compare the two players, Witsel has size,strength, tackling ability and short quick passing that he's very well known for and apparently very good at. Soriano doesn't seem to be hailed for anything in particular, and if he was I don't think its anything that Witsel doesnt have either, because neither of them are a Pirlo/regista that I think we need to begin with. It doesn't look like Miha is going to play with our classic idea of a regista anyways, or a particular player who can control the tempo and spread possession. I think he wants our midfield to be quick and work hard, exchanging quick passes and joining the attack and vice versa (attackers joining the mid/defence). Seems like a high press smoke your opponent all at once type of mentality. We saw in most our preseason that we go all out from the beginning and dont stop attacking, and Miha even said we should never stop trying to score. I like that mentality alot. If Alex or Paletta leaves, I hope we get another defender somehow, of some type of quality. Someone in the 10-15m range who can make a difference, not asking for too much. Then if we get Soriano I'll support the move, but again I don't think our midfield has any star power tbh. Pjaca will be interesting, and hopefully slot into that trequartista spot.

Soriano looks a certainty.
Mauri looks set to go out on loan. Nocerino to be sold. Zaccardo and Zapata seem out of the picture. Alex most likely to leave, Paletta to stay. Ibra to arrive soon.. Berlu wants him. Matri on his way to Lazio, if Ibra arrives.. Otherwise he's our backup striker. And a "surprise" midfielder according to media.. A good mercato to be honest. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

They need a striker for their European campaign after losing two players last night, and we would rather have a better attacker (coughs*Ibra*coughs) This would free up the space we need. Ibrahimovic or not, Matri should have no place in Milan. Move to Lazio? Sure, but Lazio won't pay his salary. I bet we would have to pay 60% or 70%. Ridiculous.
When we sign a midfielder and if we get rid of zaccardo and Alex we might get a new defender too tbh. Super excited for ibra but I'll wait until it happens to truly believe it. He looked better this preseason than he did when he used to play for us , he will be amazing.
New reports say we requested info on Rafinha from Barcelona and we want to use him as our trequartista. Seems like we're going cheap on our midfielder via buying Soriano and then buying a trequartista too. Pjaca and Rafinha are both great talents and young. Rafinha excites me, and I've never watched Pjaca live, ever. However, he looks very impressive on youtube and he's only 20 years old. A lot of people think he's going to be a big talent, and Dinamo are reluctant to sell at the moment.

Not too excited on Ibra since we'll depend on him too much next season if he comes. When he leaves or retires, Adriano and Bacca can't be Ibra. As for Rafinha and Pjaca, I'd rather we get one, preferably Rafinha, and buy Witsel or Soriano if it's a possibility. Also I wouldn't buy another defender since we have Mexes and hopefully Paletta as a backup.
