It's hard to stick to the mercato when no news is coming in and the mercato hasn't officially started anyway. I mean we're approaching 3000 posts (not to mention what was on the previous forum) and the transfer window hasn't opened yet. This thread is sort of like a free for all when there are no transfer stories.

As you know, im not convinced much on Ganso, because of reasons i mentioned many times...His injuries, his stylee...He had 1 cap for Brazil NT until now...Friendly vs USA... We already have Pato, who can injure himself anytime, There is no need to add Ganso to him...also considering Ganso costs too much... Milan got Pato for 22 m euros, who just 17 years old, as potential future star...

Ganso is already 21 years old, i didnt know him until last year, But Lucas Marcelinho at 17-18 he is doing superbly, better player than Ganso at his age, he already have more cap than Ganso for Brazil... Lamela is great talent who is wanted by many clubs...Eriksen is interesting talent...All are cheaper than injury prone Ganso...

Pirlo was a true number 10 when he was at Brescia, using balls and freekicks well, and however this doesnt make him very talented and make Merkel not very talented. Pirlo's talents for CAM didnt make difference, while Pirlo at regista made difference thanks to his talents fits perfectly to regista than CAM...

inter got him from Brescia, then he failed at first season, then loaned him to Reggina, they gave another chance and however he again failed at inter, then they loaned him to Brescia then we got him...

He was a bench warmer during first season, actually Parma game was a turning point for his carreer, he first got the shirt with his goal, 2-1 victory over them, if i remember correctly, De Lucia was a Parma's reserve GK and Pirlo scored a freekick thanks to his mistake...Then Carlo played him at regista...that was biggest turning point his carreer...

Merkel is more complete than young Pirlo...He has pace, dynamism, tecnique, creative, 2 way game...Pirlo was CAM, who is good at playmaking, taking freekick, using long balls while Merkel is different...Pirlo made difference at regista with his abilities, if Pirlo continued at CAM, He wouldnt be where he is today in world football...Totti was super talented, he was awesome since italy U21 days, he did world class job at striker, at SS, at CAM, at Trequartista, at wing forward...Xavi, he has more work rate, movement, defensive game than Pirlo, Milan needed to protect Pirlo, while Barcelona didnt need it...

Napoli signed Criscito, who is an upgrade over Dossena, they are working on Vidal, quality player...They are doing right things on the market...it seems we have an offer rejected 10 m euros for El Shaarawy...

Pirlo was a player who can dance out of trouble and send a beautiful long ball. His play was a bit slow sometimes, and he did not have a high work rate

Merkel seems to work harder and have a more dynamic game but it's too early to judge what type of player he will be. I think a midfielder or ACM similar to Hamsik.

Ganso is more technical, can also dribble out of trouble like Pirlo, but seems to be a better shooter, and certainly has a higher work rate. He seems to drift all over the field whereas Pirlo was easier to find. Ganso can be a great player, but he does have some questions. The problem is, there are not too many alternatives in the World available that are WC or have the potential to be, in a position we are desperate to fill.

For starter I would not judge players potential with age, just look at Hernanes, if Milan signed him last season, they won't need to sign any midfielder this year. As much as I hate the fact that Galli and co like to use the whole transfer period to get players, they will get players who will help Milan at the end. Bc I doubt they think that the team is good enough to challenge on all fonts at this moment. Just listen to their comment, instead of saying the squad are full of champions, they are saying they need signings.

This is what I think will most probably happen, Kaka will be coming back on loan with an option to buy like Ibra, another Young midfielder will also be sign.

The return of a more effective Ka-Pa-Ro, with the Ro being a very good upgrade. I for one would welcome Kaka back. He was made to carry our team in the few years that Sheva left, and when we had hardly any decent reinforcements to back him up.

Given that he'd be coming back on the cheap, I would try him out. He hasn't actually performed badly for Real when he's been on the pitch, he's just been off of it too often in the past two years.

Of course, he doesn't have blue eyes, so I still think he's not our main transfer target this Summer.
