Summer Mercato 2011
As of now, Milan midfield will be over run by ManU, Real, Barcelona, ManCity, Chelsea, and even Bayern. So in a way, Milan is not as bad in Europe as we might think. Reality is that, with the current Milan team I doubt they can pass the likes of ManU, Real and Barcelona. Whether you like to believe it or not, if all things are equal, Milan cannot play with the likes of the best in Europe. It is not an area where can be fix with 2 WC players, rather it has more to do with team work and understanding of the players around them. Taiwo might be an upgrade from Antonini, Zambro and Janku at LB, but he is far from being a D. Alves or Evra. The midfield is still slow and lack creativity. Pato still needs to learn how to play with a partner, while Robinho and Ibra must shake their own demon when it comes to scoring in Europe.

Thus unless Milan rebuild all four positions of the midfield this summer, they are far from challenging CL.

As I mentioned earlier, I don't understand how Milan can't outspend Juve since Milan had been playing in CL regularly.
After CL2007, we have been the joke of Europe.

The Scudetto (2 stars) should be our main goal.

I seriously doubt a shirt sponsor has any real clout in transfer situations unless they were to offer more money (and why would a sponsor do that)

People should not want Cesc in Milan. As great a player as he is, it's obvious his sights are solely on Barca. Even if it turned out that Barca only had a little money this summer and used it all on Sanchez making Cesc available to us, I still wouldn't want him. We'd be looking over our shoulder the entire time he's in Milan - wondering when he's gonna demand a move to Barca.

I'd rather have great players that don't come in with one foot already out the door. I can't wait until Cesc signs with Barca so we can focus on more realistic transfer targets.

Is this not admitting we have no hope of winning the CL ???
Saying that Milan don't have 30 million to spend on a player let alone 40.
And even he we did and he arrived that it would still not be enough to win the CL.

God all our Players and MGT do is talk about who won't be coming and how little money have to spend
CLAP CLAP CLAP LADS CLAP CLAP!!!

Okmilan

100% agree with everything you said

I'm all about being critical on Milan, but that's going TOO far.

Sorry, frustration after frustration. I will take this as the limit.
We are not a joke.Madrid spending 400 million and not winning a top competition thats a joke.
But we are lacking quite a bit.
Well, if Barcelona plays in Serie A, I doubt Milan can win the league.
If there is a joke is ManCity.

I think the point is that, Milan can't even spend as much money as a mid table side in EPL or even Juve.

"can't"? or "won't?Undecided
i don't understand all the pessimism....i know it's because we all want to push for the best but it is just not fair in my opinion...

i mean we already signed 2 good defenders and i know we need a couple of excellent midfielders and i'm sure we will get one good & one WC and I believe that will be enough to compete on every level.

you guys seems to forget that we were really good in the 2nd half of last season....yes we were not consistently brilliant but we were consistent and solid: conceding 6 goals in the league and going out to Tottenham in 2 matches in which we were obviously the better side but were unlucky to concede that goal and not score at least 1 goal in the two matches and playing without a whole bunch of missing players...

Another reason not to complain is that last year we got Ibra, Binho, Cassano, Van Bommel, Boateng, Urby, Yepes, Amelia, Papa...not sure if i forgot anyone, but with a transfer campaign like that and the ability of Allegri to integrate most of those into the 1st team and win the League, i think we have enough reasons to be more optimistic especially that the 2nd half of last season will be a great platform from which we can build for this year and compete with anybody
HOnestly, I thought the first half of the season was better. Yes, Milan won the league, but just look at the results in March, and you would not be optimistic. On top of that, Serie A was such a weaken league last year.
Having said all that, I am not stating Milan is crap and is not a great side, but comparing Milan to the likes of Barcelona, Real or even ManU is unrealistic.
Milan will most likely win the League again due to Ibra and company but to not get embarrass in CL is another story. What I fear most is not losing in CL but rather getting humilated by the likes of Barcelona or Real. As much as i have faith in Max and MIlan, those two teams are just machines and quite frankly Milan is really a level below those teams.
LebRN.I don't think people are being pessimistic rather fed up with the negative comments from some players and MGT regards the we can't sign him we don't have that much money , It's impossible for (insert player name) to arrive the tax the wages the fee.
It's annoying and there is no need for it.

Fact is we need an overhaul in midfield , because at the moment we are basically going to have V.Bommel Ambro Seedorf Rino Boateng Urby and Flamini to play there.
Thats a lot of old plodding leg's , and Boateng is good but he needs younger better players around him.Urby showed nothing and Flamini well I don't think he is a great player he cant pass very well and is sooooo reckless it's ridiculous.

We are not useless but does anyone think any of that midfield beside Boateng would get near any of the squads of Man U , Barca , Real , Bayern for any prolonged period of time.
