I think from a tactical point of view we did really well in this match, so Mihajlovic should definitely get some of the credit for this win. We came out guns blazing and managed to score the first goal early on. Fiorentina actually looked quite shocked for a while, and kept making mistakes. After the first 15-20 minutes, we sat back more, but we were always compact, closing spaces, pressing Fiorentina and trying to make the most out of any opportunity to counterattack. It may not have looked like the dominant Milan of years past, but at the end of the day, with a midfield like ours we had to do it to get a result.
I was delighted to see Bonaventura, Honda and Niang running back a lot to help out in defense too. This was definitely a team effort.

agreed. we definitely won as a team today, but I think believe that Fiorentina has much more quality in the midfield.
Fiorentina had much more possession, but I can't really remember many real scoring chances for them. On the other hand, we may have only three shots on the goal, two of them turned into goals, and the other one was by Antonelli (that could have been a goal too). Our best players tonight for me were Romagnoli and Donnarumma, even though when we won a game in this fashion, everyone deserves a praise. ![]()

Quote:28 August 2013 – the last time Kevin Prince Boateng scored for Milan before Sunday’s match with Fiorentina. On that occasion, Boateng bagged himself a brace against PSV and helped Milan secure qualification to the Champions League group stages. 872 days after that match with PSV, Boa was back on target for Milan for goal number 19 with the Milan jersey. http://www.acmilan.com/en/news/show/160349 I am particularly interested in that 7 and 13. Will we have more players to get on the scoring sheet? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Fiorentina definitely have a better midfield than us, so yeah, I think that's why we sat back a lot. Romagnoli was really, really good tonight. In spite of Baccas goals, he might actually be the best purchase we made last summer, also because he's so young.

What a pleasant surprise. I thought we suffered a heavy defeat when I received many messages this morning.

I was pleasantly surprised by the result today as well. We did park the bus and rely mainly on counter attacks but the early Bacca goal allowed us to just sit back, concede possession, and try to break quickly. We had surprisingly clinical finishing which suited our game plan perfectly.
Siamo a posto cosi.

KPB looked funny in his goal and celebration, bigger and more clumsy, yet quite entertaining
