Summer Mercato 2016
I'm not sure that Santos would sell for that much. Gabriel is their talked up prized asset. Him alone would probably cost more than that. But I see your point and agree on Lima. He's a great player.

PerSempre, it's interesting that you mentioned Rafinha. I was praying that we go back in for him. Rumors were at the end of last summer that Galliani asked for him but was rejected. Not sure if Galliani wanted one of his loan deals or what. In either case, he is a player of quality that's been unfortunate with injuries. Barca don't seem willing to give him the key in the midfield and I think he'll leave just like his brother.

This is a long shot, but I fully expect Isco to leave Madrid after missing out on the Spain squad. I think at this point he'll understand that to be in there he needs to be te undisputed starter and star in a team. Spain is just packed with great midfielders and unless you are playing for your team week in week out you got no chance. Alcantara got out of Barca and it worked out for him. I think Isco will get out of Real. I don't think we have a shot at this to be honest. But just pointing out that he's another one that can be bought this summer.

What is the deal with Gundogan? Has he signed with City already or were those just rumors? I know that we have no chance here either, but I'm just interested...

Our best chance at this point is players like Lucas Lima and Mammana who are still in South America, or players like Benatia, Bartra, Boufal, Rafinha, Coric, Kovacic, Paredes, Vazquez...who would see Milan as a move towards the right direction in their career for one reason or another. The funny thing is, neither one of those players would break the bank compared to today's prices. Rafinha may be the most expensive one and only because you are buying from Barca. But either way, I think all of those players will go for somewhere between 15-30, depending on who we are talking about. In Bartra's and Mammana's cases, they'll cost even less. Bartra only 8 and Mammana around 10. And to be honest, almost every single one of those players would represent an upgrade in our squad somehow....while the ones that maybe (big maybe only due to age) don't represent an upgrade immediately, will do so in a very short amount of time as they are all extremely talented.
While we're free to dream, we should also pay attention to the number (2) of non-EU players we can sign each summer
On a few of the players mentioned or linked:

Aleix Vidal seems interesting, I like he's an "explosive" player on the right wing, it's a quality we lack. I'd want to know who the coach will be and the football they intend to play before really deciding on Vidal, although that applies to any target. I'm actually pleased to see things are frozen until the sale is done.

Lucas Lima is a player I really like, I think he's a great talent and would bring qualities we need. However, one of the apparent reasons he's never been a huge name in Brazil until recently is because he's quite a shy guy and isn't a big personality, so he's flown under the radar and it's taken time to get the most from him.

On Gabriel Barbosa (Gabigol), the guy's a talent and burst onto the scene, but from what I've heard there's still a lot of growth needed there. He's a player that I'd see as a big risk if signed, even though the talent is not lacking.

Ante Coric is a player I'd love to have, as technically he's a big talent and a star in the making imo. However, competition for him is huge, with pretty much every major club going for him with real intent. If we can get him, it would be amazing.

Only 1 now , Vangioni has signed from Argentina unless he has an EU passport
Vangioni has an Italian passport I think! From the others I mentioned, only Lucas Lima and Mammana would take up a non-eu spot. The rest all hold an EU passport. In any case, I'm clearly not suggest we sign all those players. I was just throwing out names that I think can be realistic for us and won't cost 50/60+ million. If we sign 2-3 of those players I'd be ecstatic.

Dev, I agree on Barbosa. I hear all this buzz about him, but in all honesty, every time I watch him, I can't justify even half of it. I think he's got ability, but there are far better players than him at the moment. I'm not so sure that he'll be a hit in Europe. He needs time, and even with that, he simply may not have what it takes to be part of the elite. In other words, I don't think we should be splashing money on him for example. It's a huge risk and given the popularity of the player, he'll cost a lot of money. Not worth it IMO.
Gabriel Jesus to Barbosa , I think in the long run he'll be the real deal
Barbosa or Jesus? I'm not sure which one you mean. I was talking about Barbosa. Jesus on the other hand seems to be very talented. I first watched him in the u20 World Cup and he really impressed me. Since than, it looks like he's just continued to improve and grow.

If I had to choose one player from Brazil right now though, it has to be Lima. He's the only one that's "sure" to hit the ground running in Europe at the moment IMO.
We currently have 3 non EU: Alex, Baccaa and Gabriel. They need to go first so not surprised thers's a lot of rumors about them recently. This is actually a good sign we might after one or two players we're discussing here. Finger crossed Smile
The amount of non EU we have currently doesn't affect our situation. We can still sign 1 non EU player + 1 additional non EU player if we release/sell one abroad. With the release of Alex, we now are able to sign 2 non-EU players from outside of Italy. From within Italy, as many as we want. That's the limit for us this summer. 2 non-EU!

To be honest, so many players now have double citizenship that we should be able to play around this easily.
Jesus over Barbosa , dont know why I typed to
