Slifersd....if only Galliani and Belru had an ounce of the sense that you made in that post....things would be so much better!
This club needs stability, a project. Choose the guy and stick with him unless something disastrous happens. They got Mihajlovic, gave him some players that he asked for....things aren't perfect and perhaps we should be closer to 3rd place than we are....but Mihajlovic has done some things that are worth noting. Bringing Romagnoli here (basically set at one position for years) and giving Donnarumma the reigns (set at GK for a long time) are two huge things. He's kept the locker room very United even in tough times. The ones that aren't enjoying themselves (I'm sure there are some) have not spoken out like they did with Seedorf and Pippo. He has us playing compact football, and although not very pretty or dominating at times....the guy has only lost a couple of times since Novemember. Perhaps he took too long to figure out how to set up the group, but that's also in big part to Berlusconi insisting that we play 4-3-1-2. He's showing he's got balls which is exactly what this group needed!
Di Francesco is a promising coach. He reminds me of Sarri at Empoli last year. His Sassuolo plays brave football. They run, they attempt to play the right way, they are tough to beat and they've dominated in large spells against everyone in serie a, including Napoli and Juventus. And what's more...it's not the first year, so there's been continuity. He's proven to be a good coach with a bright future ahead of him. But the problem is, Berlusconi just has to let these people do their job. If they bring Di Francesco and if Berlusconi starts demanding that he does certain things, and if he starts criticizing him the moment we get in a slump....it's all going to be the same next year again.
@Dev.....I like that line up! The only thing I'd change is Bertolacci. He just hasn't done enough to be penciled into a line up for next season. With the level he's shown so far, he'd be a bench player at best. And to be honest, Montolivo hasn't been bad, but if possible I'd look to bring a real quality regista. So yes, I am asking for a complete midfield overhaoul!
