No signings this summer please. I wouldn't mind selling most of our players. I'd miss Honda but if we are a joke team I think we should just brining in young players from primavera and be a Mid table team with young kids playing their hearts out .

Just read that we're considering selling Bacca and bringing in Zaza... exactly what I said would be a good move months ago... except my idea was sell Bacca for considerably more than we get zaza for. Zaza is not at the same level yet, although I think he has the potential, but is also younger. Seeing as Bacca is in such high demand surely we could get good money for him and considering our many gifts to Juve surely we could get a good deal for zaza... I read that elsewhere too. I almost laughed but then I realized that anything is possible with Milan these days. ![]()
Xu, that's the realistic price. Bacca will not go for more than 35 maximum....unless someone from China comes and throws 45-50 on the table.
I would replace Bacca with Zaza.....so I guess that means that I would be willing to sell Bacca for 30 and get Zaza for 30. I was very cautious on Zaza a couple of years ago, but I've grown to really like the player the more I see him. He gets involved in the game, and possesses a little bit of everything. But he doesn't just possess it. He is actually good at it. I suppose we will miss out on some goals as Bacca is a better and a more proven scorer, but we will gain a lot in the game play. Zaza is also a hard worker like Bacca, but he is much better in combining and doing other things that will hopefully help us more than make up for those few goals that we will miss with not having Bacca. At the end, I don't know if I'm right as this is just a personal preference. I've always admired and appreciated strikers like Bacca/Inzaghi. But given the choice, I'd always choose someone that gets involved in the game a lot more (ex: Sheva/Aguero/etc) even if that means that player not scoring as many goals. I understand that Zaza in no Sheva/Aguero and is a quite a bit different than those guys.....but he still is a lot more involved in the buildup than someone like Bacca.

Zaza is decent but without fixing our mid I see him struggling.
Of course. But he is still better than Bacca in holding up the ball, bringing others into the game, and creating a little something for himself too. He wouldn't struggle any more than Bacca. I actually expect him to do better (for himself and for the team) with this midfield.
But, regardless, the plan is to improve the midfield. ![]() BTW, for those that can catch this.....Sao Paolo vs River today (8:45 us eastern/2:45am Cet). It would be a good chance to see Mammana and Vangioni in action. Also, Ganso. ![]()

Wasn't there a bid of 60M for Bacca this past January? It is certainly understandable that Bacca be valued much higher. There a few good reasons IMO: starting player at a strong NT, has previously proven himself at higher stage (EL final in which he has scored twice), has the interests of big teams (Bayern, Real as far as I know). I understand that the age is not on his side, but at 30 he has quite a few years left and he would certainly thrive with the support from stellar midfielders that those big teams have.
I have to be honest and admit that I haven't watched him closely. For some reason, I just don't like him (to be fair, he doesn't have a punchable face like Conte or Lichtsteiner). What pissed me off with the news is that I believe that Juventus bought him last year at 14M. He isn't even a regular contributor to Juventus' success this season, why all of a sudden his value would more than double? Lastly, I would refuse to do any business with Juventus. No good can come out of that. ![]()

I think the 60M bid was from a Chinese Super League team, but not too sure.

I don't see why we couldn't sell Bacca to China... even if we sell him 35 max, and get Zaza for say 25... then that's 10mill in our pocket we can spend for say Mamana... I'm an admirer of Zaza. As you said, he comes back and works for the ball but I do think he's got the skill and brains to become a good goal scorer. I suppose we'll see... |
