Bacca would be great, with a midfield and creative team in place. We don't have that.....so there is times when he actually hurts us rather than help us...and it's not his fault.
Let's hope we an get some of that Chinese money this summer.
I must admit, I have not watched enough Juve games to make a fair determination on Zaza's talent level. Since many posters around here like him a lot, I am going to take you guys' word for it and think he is a talented striker who has a versatile skill set.
But my argument isn't necessarily that Zaza is bad, rather it is how good Bacca truly is. Look, I know it is easy to look at the past few games and think Bacca is this one dimensional striker who can't dribble the ball or make a pass to save his own life. But in all honesty, let's all remember what Bacca was able to do when he had the right system around him, i.e before Niang went down. I think folks are overlooking just how effective our attack was when we had Niang, Bona and Bacca playing together. Our performance basically fell off a cliff once Niang had his accident. Bacca, to me, is hands down the second best striker in Serie A behind Higuain. And talent like that are cornerstones we need to build our team around, not shuffle to the side because he has some limitations. Would Golden State Warriors get rid of Steph Curry because he is not an explosive athlete? No, they get guys who can do the athletic work for him.
For years now, we play this musical chairs with our team where we swap out players for new ones for seemingly no good reason and the end result is, we have a squad full of players but we have no real core to build a decent team around. Zaza may well be a well rounded striker, but to me, if he can't get game time over Mandzukic (average player at best) and Morata (not having a good season by any means), then we need to seriously rethink just how good Zaza actually is. Again, this is not to say that he is bad, just that he is not a cornerstone level talent for us. If we just want a striker who can hold onto the ball, might as well sign Balotelli for cheap. In the midst of this terrible season, I see a silver lining for us in that we found a few guys we can really build our team around , guys who are not just here because their agent is friend of Galliani. I would really hate if we swap out one of them for someone who is inferior talent again. Especially since we are also not making a profit on the swap and therefore cannot invest the extra cash in other talented players. Just my two cents though.
