I think we could copy and paste this mercato thread into next summers and it would take people a while to recognise the difference.

Silvio threatening not to pay the players? Fine, no problem with me as they don't deserve what they are making. But first, he has to stop paying the guy who assembled them and gave them these huge contracts...

Here is my problem with Silvio. It's not that I don't have the temptation to do something dramatic to these players and make them feel the sting, but this is not the way to do it. This front office has a habit of liking to point fingers at others and talk about how they did not do their jobs right, be it the players, coaches or whatever. But in reality, it is these kinds of juvenile and childishly moronic behaviors from the management that created a lot of the problems to begin with. If Berlu is mad at the players, then do something about it. He can sell all the players and replace them with players who like and will listen to Brocchi. But since he is giving a three year extension to Montolivo, he should just shut the hell up and stop complaining. You created the mess, now you need to lie in it. 

BTW, how moronic is it that a club president, former country prime minister would talk about how he is going to take advantage of the sh*tty legal process of the country to punish players? I mean, is Berlu actually living in a movie these days or what?

I heard Leonel Vangioni is on a plane to Milan for a Medical.

“I leave River in the best possible way: by playing and winning. I obtained great successes,” Vangioni said in an interview to Closs Continental. “I always dreamed of playing in Europe and I never mentioned Milan out of respect for River.

“Position? I will play at Milan where the coach wants me: on the wing or in the middle.”

I suppose it's a not bad start. But I hope this Mercato isn't full of these sorts of signings.

I saw the video of Berlusconi saying this and it seems like he is joking. All the players were smiling as well.

To swing the convo back to transfers.....here are some news from today,

Calciomercato and Corriere both saying that Ibra wants 12mil per year and we could possibly get close to that with the Chinese investment. I've always said, high wages are not a problem for certain players. Get rid of 3 players that barely play and don't perform and you can easily give out 6,7,8 mil Euro contracts to stars. 12mil may be too high though, but who knows.

Witsel is being linked to Roma again. I think we've cooled our interest but I expect Galliani to go back in over the summer. Paredes is rumored to be involved in the deal for Roma, and I was just going to actually bring up his name as a possilbe acquisition for our midfield. He was excellent in his new holding role at Empoli and he wouldn't cost much. He would be a very smart signing. He used to play as an AM or out on the wings, but has done superbly in front of the defense for Empoli. He is using his passing and dribbling abilities to great extent and really seemed good defensively as well.

Benatia saying that he would have no problem leaving Bayern if they tell him to go. I really hope we get in the mix.

Tottenham is said to be interested in Vazquez now. I think if the Chinese come, there is no Vazquez and that's fine with me. If not, I expect Galliani to work out something with Zamparini, and I would be ok with that too.

Rumors also out that Mihajlovic would like to bring Kucka to Torino if he takes over.

Edit: Also, Zenit just missed out on on the CL so I would fully expect a few players (including Witsel) to leave over the summer.
