Matchday 10: Genoa - Milan (Tuesday, October 25 - 20:45 CET)

Don't have much time today but I know we need a thread for tomorrow so here we go! Big win this past weekend against Juventus but we need to follow it up with a good performance and win tomorrow to keep the momentum going. Is this our first midweek fixture for this season? I'm asking because we have certainly benefited from not playing in Europe and having plenty of recovery time between matches.

Second midweek, Lazio game was midweek

Good test for a young team not to hype themselves too much, this could easily be an anti climax if the players don't.

True. Genoa is a tough place to go to, and they play some high intensity stuff this year. We did not have a great time against Sampdoria (even though we won) and I don't expect this to be any different. 3 points would be great, no matter how they come.

It would be nice. For at least one day to be first on the table.

Being midweek isn't a problem; being on Tuesday is. Angry  I missed Lazio game as well. Angry

I hope that we somehow could pull it off. Coming off such a historic win will have an important psychological impact on our youngsters, but I don't know if it's going to be positive or negative. Hopefully we can somehow scrape a narrow victory. Genoa has admirable defense record this year though so it won't be easy. For this game, we may need some older and seasoned players; younger ones can't be fully trusted. Say, wasn't Muntari around these days? Grinundwech

It is too good to be true. So we should probably just forget about it.  Confused Dodgy Blush

Apparently we haven't won there since April, 2014. I guess it's time to break another record! Big Grin

Probable line up: Donnarumma - Poli, Paletta, Roma, DeS - Locatelli, Kucka, Bonaventura - Honda, Bacca, Niang

2 changes...Poli at RB for Abate and Honda at RW for Suso....both apparently just for rotation amd rest purposes. Suso has played in every game and has the most minutes played, while Poli is resting Abate because we have no other available fullbacks...so i guess we are guarding against an injury to one of our fullbacks and don't want to play Abate 3 times in 10 days (understandable).

It is really only two years ago :Big Grin But considering it is Genoa, a club that Galliani did so much favor to in the past decade, what a shame! Big Grin

I just found the YouTube video for that game. Antonelli and Bertolacci were still playing for Genoa. Wink Abbiati scored for Genoa as well. Big Grin
