Why a bad transfer ?
The guy is young, it adds some competition on the right and Suso will have to play seriously in all games ... he will also be allowed to rest.

On the left, we can use both Calha and Bonaventura.

IMO, that means we're adding a midfielder in the starting XI. 3 days left for that ...

It's just my opinion but I think we should've added a new winger with pace on the left side since Hakan and Jack can also play in the midfield. But Suso, Jack and Hakan all lack pace so one of them should play together with a pacey winger imo.
But since our only pacey winger now is Castillejo who plays on the right Suso should be benched. Suso won't be benched though so either Castillejo will play out of position or we will play without a pacey winger. I just think it's a shame we didn't go for someone else. It's not necessarily a bad transfer but with our limited money and desperate need for a real LW it isn't that great.
Yes let's hope for the midfielder .

Why is Bakayoko's medical lasting two days, is there some kind of problem? I don't remember the medicals for our other signings lasting that long.

You may be right about that pacey winger, but anyway, we knew we wouldn't solve all our problems just this summer. Maybe in 2019 ? I tend to think the pacey winger is useful only when you have solid midfielders who can build, keep the ball, make good/great passes forward ... we still miss that.

Last year, we lacked some quality in the starting XI (attack + midfield) and a bench. 

On the 14th of August 2018 , it looks like we have a useful bench now, we have a WC striker.

Castillejo is a natural left winger playing as a right winger for Villarreal. I do think he is capable to play on both sides thus giving the coach more options. Castillejo can play as left winger and Calhanoglu play as left MF thus dropping Bonaventura to the bench, this is also another option. We do need options so that our players can rotate and rest. Last season, we basically have 1 good player for each position and there is a lack of quality depth. We should look to build up a decent squad not just a first 11 only, we need to pick up points in 38 games to qualify for UCL next season.
