Should have led comfortably but we just love making things difficult for ourselves don't we?

2-1 full time. We deserved the win on the whole, but the performance was lacking and should have been much, MUCH easier. Our lack of finishing is just ridiculous, it's killing us and you could see after missing all the chances, not only did Bologna gain hope (especially with De Maio scoring), but mentally we looked dead on our feet. It reminded me of the 1st game against Benevento tbh.
However, 3 points are key, we know we're shot right now so more than performance we just need results. I was satisfied with Gattuso's changes. Borini and Montolivo made sense, and as Xu kindly pointed out, I'd have preferred Silva for Cutrone but we got Kalinic instead. However, both would have been put on to perform the same function (actually Kalinic didn't, Kessie did the holding up in the end). On individuals, Donnarumma made a couple of big saves, albeit the ball was straight at him so I would expect he would. Locatelli put in a very good game, though as Mystik pointed out he needs to stop getting yellows. This usually seems the result of his lack of pace, so I think he really needs to develop his reading of the game to ensure he's not left chasing too much (was just the once today in fairness). Bonaventura had probably his best game in a while, but he was still crap and seriously Suso recently looks like he's mentally somewhere else. I have a feeling he's going this summer. Cutrone showed why he's not currently favoured over Kalinic, despite laying off for Hakan's goal. I hate seeing Kalinic on the pitch, but none of the three strikers have been showing anything lately to warrant a place unchallenged. Finally, on Hakan, he was probably the man of the match. Without him we're lost atm given how Bonaventura and Suso are playing. (04-29-2018, 04:07 PM)ACMILAN1983 Wrote: 2-1 full time. Hakan Calhanoglu has to be the man of the match for me too. With and without him, we are total different teams. The lack of attacking talent on this team is disheartening. I still think that Hakan would be at best a backup in a good team (that I want Milan to become), but not only is he an undisputed starter for us, we almost completely rely on his presence to have a game.

Wonder where Suso is going?!? He's not showing any passion or desire anymore. His performances have really dropped off.
Good post Dev. I agree with everything you wrote, even the Kalinic part. But again, I don't see how we gain anything in using him and not Silva. With Silva there is untapped potential that we can at least hope comes through, even if he isn't necessarily outperforming Kalinic at the moment. Point being is even if we can bad performances with both of them, there is a least a little hope for 1 of them. Anyway...happy for the 3 points. Not necessarily with the way we played. Without Calhanoglu, we would have created zero chances and this is a problem, but also a sign that we need to buy a couple of quality attackers in the summer.

Suso is set to become the new Salah at Pool this season
we have to rebuild the squad from Calhanoglu. The only source of creativity in the team.
Bloody Bacca would've been better than our two new strikers.
