4 min highlights and the only chance shown was RR cross being palmed away by GK shows how poor we were. And what was that from Donnarumma? Gattuso should consider bench him and play Reina.

All our players were first and foremost worried about where they should be defensively. This was a pussy set up. Would not expect it from a worrior like Gattuso.....but this was not worthy of Milan. Rodrigues and Calabria barepy crossed the midfield. These were Gattuso's instructions. I wanna fucking throw up from this shit. Is this my Milan??? Is this what Gattuso calls mentality???? Defend and DO NOT PUSH PLAYER UP??? Is this his idea of winning derbiez???? Gattuso was a champion, had no fearless but you are right, a team like Milan should not be afraid especially when it comes to a derby. Assumingly we were far below opponent in terms of quality, we should not feel inferior. The fact is we are at similar quality if not better in offensive play and we were targetting a draw? What a coward. Better lose but with fighting for a win than a draw with fear mentality. This is not Milan, Milan are not like this. Gattuso should be slapped by Maldini. Last season Gattuso's motivation to achieve 3 points was great but this season he looks not confident, seems like he does not believe in himself. Stop this mentality!!!

Inter are physically stronger, we have other qualities. We tried to challenge them physically and I really liked the approach, playing a type of football we are not accustomed to. The only regrets are that in the last 15 minutes we had so many counter-attacks and didn’t make the most of them. Calhanoglu was starting to look tired and I didn’t want to change the tactical system, because other than set plays we had never really suffered until then. It’s pointless trying to cross into the box with their centre-backs, so I preferred to use Cutrone in a wider role to bring some fresh legs and energy to the position." - G.

More indocations that we were playing for the draw.
"Calhanoglu was starting to look tired and I didn’t want to change the tactical system, because other than set plays we had never really suffered until then."......so instead of figuring out a way how we can hurt Inter, we put a striker on and tell him to worry about covering the left flank.....
No less than we deserved. It was a cheap goal and a sign of monumental lack in concentration by Donna (its was the last moments of the match ffs) but if there was one team to win that, it was not us. No attacking intent, no coherent tactis against the high-press of Inter and no plan whatsoever in counter-attacking. We played like a small team. Awful performance. PS: We definetely need a central midfielder. When we signed Bakayoko I was disappointed and some people were critical of me. I'm not the one to say "hate to say I told you so" but now you can see that the man looks like he doesn't even know the basics of being a footballer. Obviously he is not the main culprit when it comes to this mess we are witnessing (not even top ten if you ask me) but they are still laughing it out loud in Chelsea. Send him back and buy a proper midfielder. Is our scouting team even WATCHING matches in diferrent leagues?
Edit: Also, on Gattuso. He obviously tried to follow a defensive plan, and maybe he could steal the game with some Higuain lethal finishing, or a Suso shot or some Cutrone heroics. That is not Milan. And that mentality cost us. When you play not to lose, most of the times you do. That was Inter we were playing, not Manchester City. We are currently 12th in the table.

Agree with everything you are saying Sputnik, 100%.
About the table, yes, we are 12th...but there is still plenty of time and it's not all doom & gloom. If we win our game in hand against Genoa, then we will have 15 points and will be potentially 5th and 3 points behind 4th place. Let's see how we perform against the midtable-small teams. So far, it's been a mixed bag in terms of results, but at least this year we completely dominate these teams and create a crap load of chances...so something has to give and if we continue with those performances then we can rack up the points. We have Samp, Genoa and Udinese coming up in the next 3 and 9 points should be the absolute minimum out of those 3 games. There is a lot of regret about yesterday's game. We should have shown much more bravery and aggression when playing rather then only play to contain Inter and play for the draw but hope for a winner out of nowhere, like Sputnik said. Hopefully Gattuso will learn from this and not set up the team in this way again. There is a time to soak up pressure and defend with compactness, I get that. When you play big teams, it is inevitable that we will need to defend deeper in certain periods of the game. But we also should have done the most out of the possession we had by pushing bodies forward with intent and making Inter defend and suffer as well. We didn't do that, and hopefully we learn from that. But as I said, we have shown big signs of improvement against smaller/mid table teams and hopefully this result against Inter doesn't stop us in that progression. I think the race for 4th position is wide open and it'll be between us, Lazio and Roma. Unfortunately, Napoli will be gone and Inter seem to be getting results no matter how they play. They were good against us yesterday (even though that had a lot to do with our spineless approach) but they've been bad against smaller teams and still got the results. Regardless, we have what it takes to beat Lazio and Roma to the 4th spot and we just need to get the points against small teams. A couple of additions in January will surely help as well. Paqueta seems to be a great pick up for the future, but we need a Left Winger and another midfielder that can make the difference NOW. Let's see what happens...

What disgusting is, Inter was terrible in the derbie and Gattuso was satisfied to earn 1 point when he could get maximum points there.

This time the ultras absolutely right. The players did not give their best while the coach was a coward.

To be honest to the players, I don't think they were not giving their best or that they weren't playing at 100% like the ultras suggest. I really think that the players were simply following instructions. Following the tactics. Again, as I said yesterday, I can only remember once or twice in the entire game where Calabria for example bombed down the flank like he usually does and overlap Suso. That would have forced Perisic to go back and defend. But no....Calabria was simply following instructions to be very conservative and not stray too far away from Perisic. As much as I hate to say it, Gattuso is to blame for this. 99%! He simply got it wrong.
