If the changes to the team are made as the press are hinting at (Hernandez, Bennacer, Bonaventura, Calabria, Leao) then there is reason to be optimistic. When Bennacer, then Leao, then Hernandez played, there was a notable improvement. Too bad about pacman, a left side of him and Hernandez would be very fun to watch.
My main concern is Suso. If MG wants direct play, he can't expect a winger to play this. Either put Suso on the wing or bench. We can play wingers now with Leao/Rebic balancing out Suso, but that is only if we do a 4-3-3.

Well we have to start playing well and scoring right now. I actually think we will scrape a win. Not in spectacular style i do not reckon. 1-0.
With Paqueta out, this is what I would like to see....

I certainly wouldn't be upset if we saw Duarte in the line up, but again, I don't wanna make a claim for him to start since I only saw him play once in the summer. No Suso. He's been absolute shit. So instead of keep giving a chance to the same players that perform like shit, why not give a chance to others and see what they can do. No Piatek. Let him sit on the bench for a game or two. As I said after the derby.....it's one thing to complain about not having service (he hasn't complained, but i'm talking about fans/coach), and it's a totally different thing not to be able to trap a simple freaking 10 yard pass or combine with a single player in 90 minutes. On top of that, when you don't participate in the build up and you don't combine with anyone and you keep losing the ball every time you touch it, the least you can do is put away the one chance you are given (cross from Leao)....but he didn't do that either, so again, why play the same crop game after game when they keep disappointing. Give others a chance. I hate the fact that I have Kessie in the line up, but I don't see another option with Paqueta out. Between Kessie-Hakan, it's pick the least potent poison, and I guess that's Kessie for now. Accountability has to be the #1 thing in football and in sports in general. You are given a chance, but you have to KEEP earning it. You can not keep getting a chance based on performances from weeks/months ago. So when players are given FOUR chances and they keep disappointing, what are the others on the bench going to say?? This is a recipe for a disaster and a great way to ruin the locker room. It's very simple. These are all adults and they need to understand. This is the conversation that Giampaolo needs to have with them............."You were just given multiple chances to bring what we do in practice, out on the real stage. You have not done that, so I will give a chance to the others who also practice alongside you and see if they can do it! NOBODY can be mad about being on the bench. IF you are mad, then here you go...here are the tapes for ALL the games we have played so far. Go and watch them, and show me why I'm wrong! As a matter of fact let's watch the tapes together so you can point out to me what exactly I've missed and see if I'm wrong and being unreasonable, or if you're wrong!"

Just not sure Jack is ready to be playing 90m yet but would rather start him and Krunic... LEt's be honest though. We know Piatek and Suso will more than likely start. BEcause of his speed and strength though, I wouldn't mind if Leao started instead of Krunic and Piatek stayed up front. As I've said in the past. He can play out wide as well as as an SS or ST. My one wish for next MErcato is for someone to buy Suso |
