Milan Head Coach discussion
(10-07-2019, 03:19 PM)reza Wrote: A new coach must realize offensive movement needs drastic rework. Suso being best player means nothing if there is no offensive production and the often service does not exist. Spalletti is not a bad coach but he is not to make the big changes needed. For example 4-2-3-1 with Piatek and Suso in the 1 and 3 is not going to magically work just cause new coach.

Agree that there will be difficulties. BUT, it could work much better if he changes the movements of the players for example. Currently, our 433 looks like a "classic" 433, especially on the right side. By that, I mean Suso nevee comes centrally to receive the ball. He ALWAYS stays wide and receives the ball wide. Even so, when he manages to put in the cross, there is no movement in the box other then the 2 (or sometimes 1) players that are in there. No runs from deep midfield. Suso's crosses aren't terrible to be fair. He does put in several dangerous ones per game. We never capitalize because we don't have the numbers in the box and we don't have the 1 or 2 runs from midfield that many times go untracked and are difficult for a defensive line to deal with a they would have to pick them up very late.

Also, if Suso starts going centrally to receive the ball, he himself can become a run in the box if the fullback overlaps, gets the ball, and crosses. Automatically you have 3 players in the box (CF, LW, Suso). Add a late midfield run or 2 (let's say the ACM and opposite CM), and you are flooding the box with 5 players attacking a cross.
You still have 1 of the CMs back to cover, plus the 2 CBs and the opposite fullback (LB)...which gives you 4 players to break up a potential counter. Keep in mind, if the other team tracks all these runs into the box, they won't have numbers to start a counter to begin with.

Point is, the formation is 1 thing. How the movents happen is the important part. So a formation can look drastically different from the way the movements are interpreted.
Donnarumma; Calabria, Caldara, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Biglia, Bennacer; Suso, Paqueta, Rebic; Piatek

I'd swap Calabria for Conti, Biglia for Kessie and Suso for Leao in that lineup.
Spalletti closer to Milan

Multiple sources are now reporting Luciano Spalletti will become Milan’s next Coach once a severance package is agreed with Inter.

Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and Tuttomercatoweb are all now running the line that Spalletti and Milan are ready to begin working together.

All that would remain is the issue of severance as the Coach has two years left on his contract with Inter.

Nonetheless, Sky notes Elliott Management and Suning Group are both at work to reach a settlement.

Furthermore, Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttomercatoweb believe the 60-year-old could accept six months’ salary from the Nerazzurri.

If he wanted the remainder of his deal in full, Inter would have had to shell out a gross figure of €15m.

Meanwhile, TMW expects Elliott to match Spalletti’s demands of a two-year contract worth €4m, with the option of a third season.
For the problem wasnt formation or play style. Its that MG never played with the best players available. If he had done that we wouldn't be here

Spalletti complexities. Pioli now favourite
Milan: Spalletti no, Pioli yes?

Milan could now go for Stefano Pioli or a foreign Coach as it is alleged Luciano Spalletti is asking Inter for too much compensation.

Milan have targeted Spalletti to replace Marco Giampaolo and appeared to have agreed personal terms with the Coach.

However, the stumbling block has been a severance package with Inter, given he is under contract with them until 2021.

It was first thought he would accept just six months’ worth of pay to walk away from the Nerazzurri, yet Sky Sport Italia and ANSA are now reporting the 60-year-old wants a full year’s salary.

That seems unlikely at this stage, so the two sources claim the Diavolo are now looking to Pioli or a foreign Coach.

Pioli previously coached Inter during the 2016-17 campaign and been tipped to take over at Genoa.

As for the profile of the foreign tactician, it could be former Roma boss Rudi Garcia, although he is believed to be closer to Monaco.
Why would Inter prefer to pay 2 years salary whe they can pay only 1. Are they that salty and wanna prove a point?
Definitely no thanks to Pioli.
