Week 28: Milan - Roma 17:15 June 28 2020

Bonaventura's deal is practically over. He is technically our player only to finish the season. Paqueta has another 3-4 years remaining.

Anyway...23mins in and I've seen Bonaventura touch the ball twice....he lost it/gave it away twice. Same as with Lecce. Zero impact.

So Rebic prefers the wing and Hakan the center. Take off Bona put in Leao and glue him to the middle and shuffle people to their preferred positions.

Commentator just said we look like we're lacking confidence on the ball and are bereft of ideas. Can't really disagree.

Yup. Nobody wants to taike a risk. Nobody confident enough, so we keep seeing 5 meter passes, and even those are super slow.
It's Hakan and Bonaventura that have to do the probing. But these two have wasted every possesion they've gotten so far. Calhanoglu is "not disappointing" in being consistently inconsistent. One good game, followed by a trash game (or 3).

Let's hope it gets better.

Haven't really seen any of that top class, Champions League level play from Calhanoglu yet...

Cooling break at 33rd minute, Milan need more than a cooling break Dodgy

I know it's hot. I know the players aren't fully fit after that long break. But you can see which players did their "homework" and which didn't. Kessie and Bennacer look fit, sharp on the ball too. Whereas Calhanoglu and Bonaventura look like they have rocks in their shoes. Heavy legs, sloppy touches, head down, etc. There shouldn't be this much of a difference in fitness among players.

I like that pass out of the back from Kjaer. Something I wish Romagnoli would add to his skill set.
