I think we have lost like 10, 14 Serie A games in a row to Juventus? For that reason alone, I want us to defeat the old ladri.

Most likely we will end up disappointed though, I am afraid.

I can barely believe it, tbh. I came into this match with no expectations, even though I knew Lazio didn't have their strikers and hadn't been in the best form after lockdown. Still though, I was absolutely not expecting a win, and would have been satisfied with a draw. This match actually brought back memories of teams past, not just because we won, but because we did so in a convincing manner, a solid team effort combined with great individual performances.

Almost brings a tear to my eye, *sniff*

As for individual performances, I thought Kessie was absolutely brilliant tonight. What an intelligent defensive midfielder he has turned into! His reading of the game was excellent, and has been ever since Serie A resumed. And Kjær and Romagnoli have become a fantastic duo in central defence. They never looked like they weren't in control back there. Great stuff!

I had this song on repeat throughout most of the match, seemed to fit the mood tonight well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmuPiNsqcaM

Yeah but SPAL played straight up 90s catenaccio. That is tough for most teams to be fair.

imagine if we beat SPAL 3-0 then drew 2-2 Lazio. we still get 4 points and the same scorelines and everything.

which scenario would you choose, if you could choose? Big Grin

sorry if this is a useless question. it probably is. Big Grin

I still rue the loss of points against Genoa, Fiorentina, SPAL, and such.

What amazes me is that it is already impossible for us to chase that CL spot, even with so many games left. So annoyed; It is one thing that we can't qualify for CL; but so early that we already have practically zero chance is another. But if you look at PL, Manchester United has a similar record to ours, yet they almost have one foot in already.

Serie A:
(4th) Atalanta: 29 games 60 points
(6th) Milan: 30 games 46 points [14/17 points off 4th]

PL:
(3rd) Leicester 33 games 58 points
(4th) Chelsea: 33 games 57 points
(5th) Manchester United: 33 games 55 points [2 points off 4th]
Even the currently 7th-placed Arsenal (33 games 49 points) have a realistic chance at CL spot, if Man City's sanction will free up a spot making 5th-place eligible for CL.

You can successfully blame Gasperini for that Icon_lol2

do Atalanta really give their players Cannabiods?? Gasperini despite having a quality of depth in their squad and array of great primavera, hardly rotates players, and Atalanta players run like they are fueled with some kind of magical boosters. Looks like 'Cannabi'poli scam

Lol look at the ref's reaction when Conti walks away after putting his arm around him: https://youtu.be/FGjvkB7x6eo?t=225

Another brilliant performance by the Kessie-Bennacer duo. I don't think these 2 put a foot wrong all game. Dominating performance in the midfield by them.

Great game overall. I just never felt like Lazio was going to come back into the game. To be honest, we should have scored another 1 or 2. Theo himself should have had 2. Either way, this is a real confidence booster. Hopefully we can finish the season on a high and get that 5th spot.

Andrea Conti is another player who is looking great after the restart surely he is deserved to stay, to compete with Kalulu.
