I think it's a mistake not to start Hauge after his game on Thursday. But we'll see. I've just always been of the opinion that when a player has a great game, you reward them by keeping them in the lineup. Rotation for the sake of rotation makes no sense. So hoping there is a different, more sensical explanation.

Bennacer will miss the match against Sampdoria due to slight fatigue. He is rested as precaution.

Mateo Musacchio was not called up for the match against Sampdoria due to technical choice.
Forza Diavolo ale!!!

This game is getting a little more difficult with our player's out.

Also, which Sampdoria shows up?

The one that can't beat Torino, Bologna and Cagliari or the one that's beaten Atalanta and Lazio?

We're short on CB and Musacchio wasn't even called? He's as good as gone then. I don't care if we win ugly like Juve last night but we must win.

It's because Tonali hasn't played that much, so he can step in for Bennacer without being at particular risk of injury, giving Bennacer a chance to recover safely from his injury. It's one of the benefits of having a bit more squad depth in that position. In the case of Kjær it was a question of not risking Romagnoli, who is still not 100% recovered after his injury and was showing signs of fatigue after Fiorentina. I really don't think Pioli could have done anything differently. What this situation really tells us is that we're lacking depth in the CB position and that it needs to be addressed in January. Let's just hope we can get through December without Romagnoli getting injured too.

Kjaer looks less ruthless

Bennacer looks ruthless making him injury prone
