Week 9 Bologna - Milan October 23 2021 20:45
We've played some really good games at the start of the season and now we are in a worse form, not helped by all these injuries. But we are still winning! Big Grin
Its incredible, we've had the best start in all the history of Milan (matched by season 54/55). This team is something special.
But some very hard games coming up, Roma, inter, Porto... we will be tested. Hopefully the players returning from injury find their good form very fast (Theo, Brahim, Ibra) We gonna need them in these games. Without them being good it'll be very hard!

Brahim has become a key for this team. His movement between the lines is huge. Additionally, his ability to receive the ball in those tight spaces between the lines, turn and then drive forward while taking on players has been badly missed.
This is where our game has suffered the last few matches. That connection between our half and the final 3rd, which is precisely where Brahim is usually found.

Theo also. We can gain 30-40 meters of field positioning in just seconds by his driving runs forward.

Without those 2 players, our transition game has suffered a bit. We are playing slower and take a bit longer to reach the final 3rd.

So, it's great that we keep winning in Serie A without those 2 key components.
From there on, of course, we need something extra in January to give us a push. Hopefully a RW will arrive as well as another ACM option. This Feivre dude seems to be a hybrid between those 2 positions so maybe we go back in for him.

It's his style of play that has seen the likes of Leao and Rebic play so well. Leao in Particular needs that fast transition for us to see the best from him.
We desperately need a RW and a backup CAM to help us push for a scudetto. Faivre would be good for RW and an option for CAM but we need someone else.
At this stage it's pretty clear Florenzi isn't good enough so he can go and if we can't get Messias fit and playing by xmas, than he can go also.
I do really hope we can get Lucca and see how we go with Pellegri for the rest of the season to determine whether he stays or goes but can always send him back and have Lucca as our younger striker option with Belotti/Giroud/Rebic as starter option.

Florenzi should not be played as a winger. His time as a winger ended years ago. I never thought he was being brought in as a winger, but more as a RB/RWB. I'm good with him as a RB. But we should not rely on him as a winger. He just doesn't have any if the needed attributes anymore.

For sure. he's been used there though. I personally wouldn't even rely on him as a backup RB. He's been pretty average there and Kalulu has proven to be the much better option anyway.

Exactly, so average that we need to send him back. What is the point of getting someone so average at his age and wages? Send him back and get another young player.

yep. exactly. Better to send him back and bring in Faivre for RW. Kaululu is fine for backup RB
