A Friday match. The usual cast still out and Maignan probably longer than expected, again.

Leao and Giroud up front is one possibility.

The mediocre journeyman coach is going to play his sons/favourites Krunic & Diaz (only here on loan) while the younger new signings rot on the bench.

Gazzetta has us with 343/3412/3421 (depends on how you read it.

Kalulu, Kjaer, Thiaw
Calabria, Tonali, Krunic, Theo
Diaz, Giroud, Leao

This is at least a step in the right direction compared to the junk we saw vs Inter. With that said, it's still not good enough. The same players keep playing even when they are clearly out of form. Talking about Giroud and Calabria. Additionally, Krunic has been injured for a long time, and as soon as he's back he's thrown into the lineup. Makes me think, is Vranckx really THAT BAD?

If we're going to play with WBs, I think Saelemaekers is the ideal choice. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think this guy was MADE to be a wing back. Doesn't have the tactical discipline to be a RB. Doesn't have the cutting edge and decision making to influence the attacking 3rd as a winger. But as a player in between? He really does have what it takes. He will work on both ends of the ball, has enough ability to get involved in advancing the ball and possession, but not enough to be an out and out winger, so therefore we wouldn't rely on him to influence the attacking 3rd but only to support it. Support the attack, support the defence. This is what he does ANYWAY. So now we turn into a formation that best suits him.....AND HE IS ON THE BENCH! I don't get it. As a winger, he was a mainstay in Pioli's Milan. Even though he offered nothing. Now, when I think he CAN offer something, he's demoted to the bench....FOR ANOTHER GUY that can't offer anything in this formation (Calabria). It's genuinely puzzling to me.

On Giroud....I've said my piece. The guy is struggling. He looks awful out there. Now that we have Rebic and Origi available, just play them for a bit. See how it works out. I don't get the insistence on Giroud being in the lineup. I don't understand how one person can be this stubborn.

+1 on that one. He's a super hard worker and decent enough attack and defence for the position. Could finally see something great from him.
on Calabria... the guy has been absolutely Horrid this year. something needs to be done

Giroud is clearly out of form and tired. 100% someone else should be getting game time. If only we had a young striker we could give a shot to see if he steps up.... Instead we loaned him off.

On Krunic... what can I say. Pobega, Vranckx, Aldi, it's not like we have no options but Pioli insists on his adopted son whenever possible.

You just have to admire this guy. His motivation and determination is out of this world. Maybe his presence on the field could turn everything around, who knows. Im pretty sure he will do better than Giroud anyways these days.

Rumours says that he probably could get some minutes against Torino. Exiting so see his physical shape. If he scores and looks good, Pioli could maybe have done a big mistake not having him in the CL list. Lets see.

Come back and fight!!!

3 CBs will be use, OK. But for RWB, Dest is better choice because he can attack, Calabria is now bad at both tasks.

It seems that Ibrahimovic may even be available tomorrow? I don't expect him to do much on the field, but hopefully his return will provide a moral boost.

I hope that Ibra can help CdK out.

Having a world class player can really help.

We only have Ibra and Mike in this category.
