The season is still long. One loss, especially a freaky one like this, doesn't define the season. However, this allowed Juventus back into the race (not that they were truly out anyway) and it is going to take a toll on our psychology.
I blame Thiaw for his idiotic mistake which let the whole team down. Not only did we not get a result today, we also tired ourselves out greatly for the upcoming big games. We already started with huge disadvantage against PSG. Honestly, I would park the bus and play for 0:0 and leave everything to the second half of the group stage.
I would also blame Theo for his idiotic 5 yellows in barely 8 games, but at least he should be fresh against PSG.
I also don't understand Pioli's substitutions. I tried to reason it, but I failed. If he was going to take Giroud out anyway, why not keep Pulisic? After that and later Reijnders and Adli off, we basically lost any ability to put together a few passes. Poor Leao could never get any support from the midfield. We were literally just counting on Musah's short 1-2 (he is good with flicks and short pass, but his long pass and crosses stink) and you can see that Juventus was just toying with us knowing we already had no chance to score.
How unlucky we were too today. The red card, the deflection, and even the timing of goal/substitutions, you just know that it was one of those games that you were destined to lose. Also, look at Krunic. He almost got everything wrong, and without him, there was no way that that traitor Locatelli could have scored past Mirante.
Lastly, I thought that the referee was lenient on us. Many 50-50 in fact were in our favor. Maybe he just felt sorry for us.
