Good win but defence needs serious work/new players, its so weak and concedes goals every game.

Thats because you dont say a prayer every time when the opposition has the ball.

What a entertaining match! Deserved victory despite som absolute screamers of saves from Mike. Fiorentina plays a open game so it will also be chances against them, anyways, i liked our fluidity and movements. A lot of positives.

MOM was Leao.. Great assist, and a really nice goal, but somehow bad goalkeeping who went down so early. Easy for Rafa. And that pass from Reijnders. Just KDB class. Tomori was a beast, We have missed him so much. Cleared tons of balls. Mike was superb, the same was Reijnders. Chuky much improved. Played a decent fame actually. Maybe it could be a start of something? RLC with a composed finished and used his brutal force more than once. The rest was average despte Giroud who was poor. His mind is in LA.

Personally im a dreamer. is it possible to catch Inter? The odds are almost zero, but you always need to dream..

Inter have some tricky games as Sassuolo away, a team that always cause problems for the big sides, a stubborn Udinese side, same with Torino. On paper Inter should beat them, but what if they finally could have som bad luck? a little injury on Martinez and Barrella? If we win all the las matches of the season, including beating them in the derby, Inter just need to have 3 banana shell kind of games for us to overtake them. Its almost impossible, especially when they could just focus om the league, but let us dream boysSmile.

My rating 1-10:

- Maignan: 7.
- Calabria: 5,5.
- Thiaw: 6.
- Tomori: 7,5.
- Florenzi: 5,5.
- Reijnder: 7.
- Bennacer: 6.
- Chukwueze. 6,5.
- RLC: 7.
- Leao: 7,5.
- Giroud: 5.

Subs:

- Gabbia: 6.
- Pulisic. 6.
- Musah: 6,5.

Forza Milan!

Don't do this to yourself. Big Grin We're not catching Inter. But yes, as fans we have to believe until the math proves that we can't.

On Tomori, I think he was good. But he makes mistakes, still. For example, in the first half, he left his mark to try and step up to win the ball. It was a crazy decision...because he didn't, and it resulted in a Fiorentina 1v1 with Mike, who saved our ass. Tomori did something similar in the 2nd half, again. Got lucky because Fiorentina played the wrong ball and a bit too long of a pass, which Tomori was lucky enough to get back and shield it out (this was the moment he got the yellow card by the way for kicking the ball away).
These are mistakes that all CBs can make. Nesta and Maldini made them for example. But made them once every 10 games. Tomori did twice in one game. My point here isn't to bash Tomori. He is far and away the best CB we have and I wouldn't trade him away for anything. But he has to stop having these mental lapses in almost every game. He is of the age now that he needs to play with a bit more certainty. The good thing is that he has the tools physically and tactically he's improved SO much since coming to Milan. But there are still these moments of pure MADNESS, like the 2 today. I expect them from Thiaw. Not from Tomori.

The game itself was crazy though. A fun watch. I'm glad we won. Big Grin But it's just wild how we can NOT soak up pressure without giving away (stupid) crazy chances to opponents. This entire season, I only remember the PSG game at home where we purposely soaked up pressure and made it difficult for them. I don't want us to be Allegri's Juventus and defend 30 meters from goal for 80 minutes. What I'm talking about is 10-15 minutes when the other team pushes a ton of players up and goes wild trying to equalize. Like today. There were a sketchy 15-20 minutes where clearly Fiorentina was pushing up to score the 2nd....and instead of adjusting to that and tightening our lines, making it difficult for them.....we kept on pushing players up ourselves like crazy. And it resulted in a wild 15 minute period where we were lucky not to concede.

Good 3 points though. I saw only us and Inter have beaten Fiorentina away this year.

Yeah I remember those Tomori moments Nef. He is still getting up to game speed after being out. Also, this man marking defense is horrible. The gaps are the middle ans teams spread wide and it isn’t one where you can soak up pressure. Also, We don’t quite press teams with urgency anymore so I’m not sure why we are sticking to this man marking style.

No way we catch inter. They are on performance enhancers and not realistic to bottle this away.

Chuck I thought played very well for t least 30min then faded.

RLC showing his worth. I just feel bad he is tall because that is essentially why he gets cards. So dumb.

Lastly, maresca, what an idiot. Giving Tomori that card when the ball was already out. Come on man, foirentina is at home. It is probably faster to have the ball boy throw one in. I can’t stand that guy.

Two poor defensive phase performances, glad Fiorentina were the worse of the two.

Inter need to lose just 4 matches so that we catch them given we win all the matches remaining. Imo if Inter loses 2 or atleast 2 draws till Milan derby then there is good chance that we may come close to them but that still is distant dream better we focus on Europa imo
Forza Diavolo ale!!!

Good game, good victory away to Fiorentina which is always tricky turf for us. We need defensive solidity however

Defensively we are so disorganized, and we make such stupid decisions. We need a serious defensive midfielder and a leader at the back, someone who can organise the defence. None of Thiaw, Tomori, Gabbia or Kalulu got that leadership.

yep, none of the players we have is a leader. With Kjaer leaving, we need a new CB a leader one.
