Winter Mercato - 2025

Perhaps the most important winter transfer window in recent years, given our precarious situation. The needs are glaring. The solutions, even if temporary, obvious - a midfielder and a RW.

But anyone in his right senses cannot trust these morons to do the needful.

There's talk of shipping Okafor and Jovic, the later more obvious and certain. In turn, we are linked with Akhlioche and Leweling. Anyone know anything about them?

A more important question - should we expect anything this January window?

We should expect something, like you said, its a really important transfer window. We are about to take a few steps back this season and wont be getting CL football next season. We need a DM ( we actually need 2) a backup winger and a scoring striker. And some of those has to be italian because we can not register foreign signings anymore. They fcked up so bad on this.

But I dont think we’ll do the right thing, this management is clueless, totally incompetent morons. On a sporting side I believe we are one of the worst run clubs in europe! So this transfer window will be another disaster, I’m afraid.

IMO, what we need the most is a healthy Bennacer until the end of this season.
We deeply need someone with long balls to the runners above or distribute the ball tactically. Fofana is very good at through balls, he should play higher among the mid duo or as a box to box.
Samuele Ricci is regarded as our dream signing but he is similar to Fofana. Of course, getting him if we got the money.

Other positions could be solved by rearranging the lineup and formation, but the fast transition with longballs & tempo dictacting are lacked in our current team.

Ideally, yeah. But what are the odds on Bennacer getting injured soon again?

Too risky staking all on Bennacer. We should try for that Frendrup or Belayhane this window, then go all out for Ricci in the summer.

I know, I'm dreaming

Bennacer aint a football player anymore. I have 0 hopes for him, he is an ex player, destroyed by injuries. He will get injured soon again.

Yup, Bennacer's career is dead. He's on permanent disability with occasional "good days". During last two years he was injured for 386 days (and counting), that's more than 50%. Add to that summer breaks etc, it goes up to 70%.
Why pay millions (our second highest payed player with 7M per year) for someone who's available only during 30% of the season? Sell him if possible (his value dropped to 14M), because he have 3 more years of contract with us.

Exactly. But watch these idiots say he's like a new signing. I can only hope that they've been sobered by recent events - protests, insults, league position. That may probably make them re-think their stance.

I was about to say the same thing. The new signing in the last 3 years.

I would even let him go for free. He costs us a lot of money and we get nothing in return. On top of that this idiot chose to go to the african cup being a few weeks fit after a very long injury.
No team will give money for him, he is worth 0 atm.
