No ho visto Superman volare, ma ho visto Super Pippo segnare. I supereroi esistono davvero.

Thanks Kastriot.

Curious how Allegri approaches the game vs Madrid. I think, it will be similar like vs Chelsea with Milan playing defensive football and counter attack.

Even if we beat Madrid here, most of our own fans will still doubt the quality of this team. After all, this is only a friendly, no? Devilcool
MILAN! MILAN! SOLO CON TE!
MILAN! MILAN! SEMPRE PER TE!

Of course but still winning is better than loosing. Big Grin

If we all know the quality of the team is not yet optimum and we lost many games in pra-season, I doubt it will help to have confidence on this team. Big Grin

I think this game will be used to confirm what we've seen so far in preseason. This is to continue developing our tactical game and giving chances to a number of players to give them fitness and experience.

Speaking of tactics we've seen in preseason, there seems to be a clear change in approach to the past couple of years. Forwards now play a much greater role in pressing opponents and dropping back to defend. I was pretty shocked to see that even Cassano against Olympia was seen tracking back. This will infinitely improve our defensive game, as defending with every player will always be better than certain individuals not defending.

Going forward and our possession game seems different too. Starting at the back, we seem quicker to move the ball out of defence than before, where often we'd see the CBs passing between them a number of times before the ball is moved up. Now, I noticed there's rarely more than the odd pass between defenders before the ball is moved up.

In midfield, the game isn't too different so far as I have seen, but up front again the system's changed a little, as Boateng (Cassano against Olympia) have played as atypical number 10's or something closer to false 9's. Essentially, they're playing quite centrally and pushing high up at times (acting as a target man) and then dropping back at others. This really influenced the positions of Robinho and El Shaarawy, who to me appear to push much wider than last season. Whether this makes makes the system 4-3-1-2 or 4-3-3 or a combination of the two is really depends on how you perceive it.

It's too early to say what this means for the coming season, but I think it's safe to assume that we will see something a bit different.

And I don't know if it's just me, but Urby looks like he's been making massive improvements
