Week 7: Milan - Fiorentina October 19 2025 20:45CET

Alexis likely to miss this game, injured on international duty. Estupinan too, but according to reports less serious injury. Leao has returned to Milan eventhough Portugal have another game to play, haven't seen any reliable source saying the reason other than some vague 'physical condition' mention.

Pioli's Fiorentina are winless and 17th after first 6 games of season.

Alexis Saelemaekers is the innovation of this season. No one expected him could play like that at RWB except the coach.

Changing formation now is unlikely as the 3 CB becomes solid and is the core strength of defense now.

Athekame is the proper backup for RWB, but move Estupinan there or even play Pulisic there to accomodate the Gimenez & Leao (or Nkunku) pairing are also options.

Imo, Leao is heading to an exit after this season. I just hope his value doesn't plummet too badly. I want to be surprised and him score 15 goals. But I don't know.

He is better out on the wing than central, imo. He doesn't have the technical know-how to play in the center. Too many lackadaisical touches that never end up well when in traffic (which is what naturally occurs in the center of the field). And now that we are having success with this formation, Allegri will not change it (rightfully so). On top of that, Allegri puts emphasis on team defending. Everyone has to defend. Including "superstars". And that means ACTUALLY defend with intensity and concentration. NOT just jog back to your half and make half-assed attempts to win a ball, just so you can say "see, I worked back and defended"....which is the most i can say about Leao's "defending". And for some managers this is not a big problem. Defenders defend, attackers attack, and so on. But for Allegri, it's a huge problem. And I don't see this Leao-Allegri relationship developing very well as the season goes.

ONLY way this ends well for Leao (at Milan) is if he starts banging in goals every / every other game. He is 26 though, and his shooting qnd finishing technique has not improved one bit over the last 5 years. So needless to say, I just don't (realistically) see that happening.

The problem is not Leao leaving, it's our replacement capabilities.

Which one will be a prolific scorer in Seria A? Nkunku or Gimenez?

Based on those two signings, are we confident that the replacement of Leao will be any better?

I really like Leao but I agree if Allegri can't change him there is no hope left.

Back to this game, I find it hilarious that Pioli was allegedly upset at the season beginning that Allegri failed to include Fiorentina in his mentioning of potential "top 4 teams" but now they are sitting at the bottom 4. Icon_lol2

I appreciate what Pioli has done for us, but it is time to get him fired. Grinundwech

Quick question: Is Kean injured?

Gimenez be lethal at goal is more likely than Leao can press. And maybe the Mexican is the one to be sold as every coach will love him.

However, Leao sometimes show he can defend. I still remember the CL quater final against Napoli 3 years ago, he pressed and threw himself to sliding tackle like Nesta.
Another direction is following C. Ronaldo, as his style now is similar to the CR7 at early MU time, but MU trained his shooting & heading, then put Roony & Tevez to support him with Scholes & Carick organized things. This direction may help Leao, as we also have Pulisic & Nkunku with Modric & Rabiot playing lower, Gimenez can also help him.

The only question is: Does Leao have the motivation to win the Golden Ball? Even Dembele can win it (with respect)!!!

The only path Leao is following C.Ronaldo, its the path of Saudi Arabia.
So its Bartesaghi and Athekame for this game?
