Is Kaka the game changer?
#31
I did watch the match today, despite the poor quality of stream. Kaka was indeed the game changer with his top-class passing. I am already dreaming of him playing behind Balotelli. It doesn't matter who the third player is, El Shaarawy or Robinho. I feel that either can do well with them. Matri on the other hand was quite bad today - it is as if that he didn't belong. His "assist" to Robinho was really a failed shooting. Facepalm

Revived as when Ibra was here? Maybe.

I don't expect Kaka to be sitting deep and recovering possession. I'd rather him sit higher up the field and pick out those killer passes on counter attacks, or even join the counters. So for that matter, I'd rather we not put much defensive responsibility on him. Simple tracking back and helping defend like all our other attackers commonly do is a job most players do anyhow.

BTW, he's not slow at all trust me. He isn't the insanely fast player he used to be, but he's probably faster than Balotelli and most of our other players for that matter.

He isn't going to sit deep but our furthest forward player will be balotelli (great at holding it and a defensive liability with rash challenges). When we sit back and defend (bigger teams like Juve and Napoli or even CL) he will have to participate like ELS and KPB did because defensively our CBs can't handle a ton of pressure (thus leaving Balo up front alone).

Its funny to talk about the rebirth of Noce too with Kaka. He was still making the runs into the box when Ibra left but he had no one to pick him out. I just can't see him getting too much playing time as defensively he is just too much of a liability and we still need to max protect the heart of the defense. I really hope Kaka gets to play along ELS. ELS's running, Kaka's vision and Balotellis movement around the box drawing defenders away from the box could mean a big season for the pharaoh but he has added pressure to adapt to a new position. Next few weeks will be very interesting...

Didn't say he was slow, said he wasn't as fast as he used to be. PS bar Niang, Abate and Zapata our team is disgustingly slow.

I would like to know why we have such a bizarrely pedestrian team.

So Kaka would easily outpace the majority of the team. As would a zimmerframe relay team tbh.

Just like Poli in pre-season but guys on here don't seem to rate him like I do.

Must admit I've not yet seen Saponara but the hype about him is pretty big.

Warro I'm not too sure about Saponara to be honest. He struggled to stand out during the U21 championships against players his age and size. I don't think we can expect much from him this season.

I am glad Kaka was able to get a quick 45 mins of play in his legs. However, I wouldn't judge anything based on this game. The teams we will be playing against are of much higher quality lol
