Palermo v. AC Milan (Renzo Barbera: 3/19/2011): 20:45

Its Pato time!!!!! Smile

And yes for Urby as fullback, its about time a fullback really helps us in attack. in our formation (4-3-1-2) good attacking fullbacks are extremely important otherwise every attack goes trough the middle. good attacking fullbacks would open up play

Attacking full backs against Palermo might do the trick if they still play with a 4-3-1-2 (Haven't seen much of them lately) They can stretch the midfield to open up spaces there allowing our midfielders to go forward supporting the attack.

No they have changed it to 3 man defense since Cosmi took over.

Fullbacks attacking are important, but what I think could turn out really useful against Palermo is how Cassano moves. Cassano always had a tendency to move to the left side of attack, and with Palermo playing a 3 man defence Cassano should find room to move into the left and cause some damage. Even if he is tracked, it means we'll stretch Palermo's defence.

The other key area for us is our midfielders either side of Van Bommel. Against Napoli we saw these players push extremely wide to pin back the Napoli midfield, again stretching them. With this in mind, it's one of the reasons I'd consider Urby for midfield.

really can't see why didac vila hasnt been given a chance.....seems like a complete waste of money....when we bought him in january...everyone was saying he's our future left back......where is he now???....another felipe mattioni....i hope not...antonini really shouldn't be playing LB anyhows.....he just can't play there....period....two seasons ago he was playing RB.....that's where i'd play him....if anywhere....he's not good enough for Milan XI though......Urby is another option....i'd rather him playing LB instead....Binho on the bench too...his composure in front of goal has been woeful of late....he doesnt have the vision or passing ability to play as a trequartista.....other than that....just the usual line-up should be enuff to turn Palermo over...it won't be easy though...

Abbiati
Abate Nesta T.Silva Urby
Gattuso MVB Flamini (Merkel)
Prince
Pato Fantonio

If I'm not wrong, Raiola is his agent ...
If buying this young player was the price to pay to use Raoila again to get better players (like with Robinho), it's a "good price" to pay I think ...

So stop laughing at Juventus !

The kid is a Spanish U-21 leftback, so theres only so bad this kid can be. I think its more along the lines of bedding him for the Italian league and probably to put him through the paces so he can come into the team and function properly. If I do recall, we did the exact same things with Pato (though in his case it was an eligibility problem), and with Thiago Silva. I wouldn't worry that he's not getting sufficient playing time. He'll be used eventually.

I agree with your lineup, though I'd opt for Zambrotta over Urby, with Urby in Midfield for more pace. I have a good feeling about this game. We have sufficient experience and anger to bag this one and put the pressure back onto the chasing pack again. That said, next up will be the Derby, so I'm praying for no more injuries.
We got the young 'un's. We take out big gunz  Devilcool

According to rumours Jankulovski is being favoured for the role. A fair choice imo as he's been good of late and deserved his chances.

If all available:

Abate - Nesta - Silva - Jankulovski
Gattuso/Flamini - Van Bommel - Emanuelson
Boateng
Pato - Cassano

With 3 at the back, Palermo will look to flood midfield and over-run us across the park - especially out wide. If we stay alert and watch any runners, we should be able to contain them ... hopefully!

had a wee look at his castrol ratings...541...he's above cassano, pato & boateng.....can't be too bad at all...Okmilan.....hehehe...so sick of seeing antonini playing there....anybody but anybody else........plz.......allegri.....have to agree with janku for LB...he's a lot more reliable....we could do with either MVB or Rino keeping a watchful eye on Pastore on saturday night too.....anything 2 limit his chances on the ball....when he plays well...Palermo seem to do alright.......hopefully Ibra will come back stronger in a few weeks....the Ibra from the first few months of the season, that is.....we've certainly missed him the last few weeks!!!
