:)As the season is nearing its end I think we could organize an election for the MM-serie A awards 2002-03
everybody should vote for a podium of 3 players in each category
the first player would have 4points, the second 2points, the third 1 point.
After the end of the votation we would calculate the results.
the categories could be:
-best goalkeeper
-best defender
-best midfielder
-best striker
-best milan player
-biggest revelation of the season
-biggest failure-underachiever- of the season
-most promising youngster
-best or nicest game of the season
special price - :) the player/coach/president/referee you love
- :mad: the person you hate
I think it'd be fun to have the results for the whole MM forum
are you interested? do you have any suggestions? :p

Why not put this poll to the main page?
Tell you what guys, this thread sounds so interesting that I am going to talk with the moderators about making this thread more exposed to the posters. Hopefully the results will also be presented someplace on the site. :)
But like Jammi said, who is familiar to things going to quick ;) :D, this thread is a bit premature.

Attract more outsiders (like other club fans) would be nice too, I guess. Otherwise the vote could be quite a baised one.

What you say about Moratti is true!!! But, he was also one of the persons who said something about the many penalties Milan had in the beginning of the season. He said that Galliani had too much influence on the referees.
He wasn't the only person with this arguments. Also presidents of other teams said such stupid things... BUT, Moratti is an Interman, so I choose him.

Buffon. World's best keeper.
Best defender
Hmmm, Maldini or Nesta.....can't choose, wont choose. The best centre back combo in the world.
Best midfielder
Nedved. He's been awesome is so many ways.
Best striker
Vieri. Even with a team that doesnt like to attack and create chances, he took his chances and plenty of them.
Best milan player
Once again, Maldini or Nesta.
Biggest revelation of the season
Seedorf. Calamity Clarence is now one of the most complete midfielders in Serie A. No calamity now, just world class performances and great team spirit.
Biggest failure/underachiever of the season
Rivaldo. He was one of the world's best players but didnt really show that. He doesnt seem to fit in too well either. If we keep him I expect more.
Most promising youngster
Miccoli. He's had a great season and has a great future ahead of him with both the Azzurri and Juventus. Very talented player.
Best or nicest game of the season
Deportivo 0 - 4 Milan was a game I didnt see but sounded amazing. The best game to win was the CL final of course.
Special prize
Ancelotti. He won the CL with us as a player then wins it as a coach. He's taken this team of superstars and managed it so well, pioneering an Italian renaissance in European Club football and a memorable cup double.
The person you hate
Marco Materazzi. Thug! :fero:

Best Defender- Nesta, Maldini
Best Midfielder- Nedved, Seedorf
Best Striker- Vieri (just to be fair to an excellent Inter player)
Best Milan Player- Maldini
Biggest Revelation- Ancelotti (finally he won something after a few agonising years)
Most Promising younster- Pirlo
Nicest Game- Milan-Real Madrid 1-0
Person I hate most- Materazzi, Cordoba, and Moratti

Funny that I ran into this thread because I was proposing something similar last year (or year before) where we vote for our top 3 players of each match and at halfway and the end of the season, total the votes and 'award' player of the season and that kind of thing. What I'm thinking of is pretty similar to the original poster's idea. Award points to 1st, 2nd and third place and total them up. Hence someone consistently in the top 3 will probably get player of the season over someone else who has fluctuating performance levels. Anyone else interested?
