In Italy we have to parties: PRO ROSSI (against Biaggi) PRO BIAGGI (against Rossi)

I can't stand him, and the Doctor will kick his comfortable ass on the best bike in the challenge just because the Doctor is the best out there since many years

Once Kenny Robert Sr. said "Even Rossi and Biaggi exchange their bikes to each other, Rossi still will be the winner". :D

This season i'll support Rossi but i think DUCATI will give a very serious treat. You know last season Capirossi beat the F1 top speed in Barcelona. Ducati is really really a fast bike. I hope the doctor will ends his carreer in the Desmosedici side. :)

So far i don't know yet what progress YAMAHA has got. Hope it's a good one.

Rossi will put the talent above all, the moneys, the arrogants at honda, the conspiracies..

imagine if honda loses the title with 6 and i repeat 6 bikers in the challange this year...ahhahahaha

I'm so exzcited this year about the moto gp because nothing can be taken for granted and rossi will have to struggle every race to get into the first three, but if he wins, he will be the best for sure above all other contenders

IMO Yamaha isn't that crap indeed. In the last few seasons in 2-stroke era they had built a supreme bike, bigger power and good chassis but unfortunately they have a crap racer.
In many races Max had the lead but couldn't win one of them. He falls down while taking down the curves. Such a pitty.

in 4-stroke era, Honda had started their research and development programs few years earlier than the others. That's why they have better bikes by now.
With Rossi as the racer, YZR-M1 will be competitive and could give a serious treat for Honda RC211V. Ducati also have competitive bikes in 4-stroke era. It's not surprising because they are "master" in superbike championship.

All that i can say, This season will be very interesting. :)

Biaggi is still the biggest threat...:)

20 (50) N.Hodgson Ducati + 13 lap(s)
21 (10) Ke.Roberts Suzuki + 22 lap(s)
22 (11) R.Xaus Ducati + 24 lap(s)

Yet again and always, Rossi leads Biaggi. He did, he does, and he will. :D

Biaggi is still the best treat as no rider could compares to them both.
Do you know that Honda's top speed is 10 km/h faster than Yamaha's? but the doctor did it very-very supremely. He took the curves faster than Biaggi did. As we all know, Biaggi couldn't do the 'rear-wheel sliding', the fastest way to take down a curve. Rainey found it.
Congrates to Val Rossi and YAMAHA Team. Great Job!!!

Which reminds me of a story I heard, someone please care to confirm if it's true :

and now Rossi is making the crap out of Biaggi instead :eek:

Haha.. no need to, Idan. seems like only two of us who concern about MotoGP, just like the competition, seems like only Rossi and Gibernau who race for world champion title. :D

yet again, Rossi won. Amazingly he did it in Barcelona. Previously i doubted that Yamaha YZR-M1 could beat Honda RC211V. You know, Yamaha isn't quick enough (comparing to Honda) on a straight lane, but Rossi did very well in the curves to cover it.
btw, where is Biaggi? where is Capirossi?

can we get a huuuhaa for rossi? rossi is simply not given up yet for the title race. As far as i know, yamaha is developing the YZR-M1 engine with the Big Bang technology. Isn't it the technology that makes doohan number 1. why it's not working yet? coz, as u can see, YZR-M1 is definetly beaten by RCV on the straight line.

To Gio, sorry if what i've said disturb you man. it's just ....naah, it's nothing

argo
21-06-2004, 16:47
I think "big-bang" technology is for 2-stroke engines, how come it is applied to a 4-stroke engine?
No, Idan. Honda bikes are faster than Yamaha in straight line. It was Rossi who pushed to brake so so late.

Early this season i tought that Ducati could be faster but i don't know yet what's happening to them. 4-stroke engine is not "new" for them, as they did it great in World Superbike Championship.

what a race by The Doctor!!!

Overall, that was (yet again) another battle for 2 riders, Rossi and Gibernau. and on podium also the same persons as we got at Catalonian MotoGP. 2 YAMAHAs and 1 HONDA.

Rossi did a clever job, sticking to Gibernau until the last lap then he overtook Gibernau and kept his lead to the chequered flag. He knew that his YAMAHA YZR-M1 couldn't beat HONDA RC211V so he did that manuver lately in the race then Gibernau would never have a chance to chase him. ;)

Credit also given to Marco Melandri, Rossi's Italian mate, winning the battle over (poor) Biaggi and Checa.

I also feel sorried for Alex Barros, the Brazilian rider did a great job but that solo-accident has burried his dream.

He should blame himself for letting Rossi took the inside line in that curve. and it was too bad that he crashed his front-wheel cover onto Rossi's rear-wheel.

Stunning performance by Rossi and also Melandri. It's great to watch them both celebrating victory by doing tire-burning together. :)

how does point scoring work in moto gp?
how many for 1st 2nd place etc etc..
how many riders can get pts?

argo
04-07-2004, 22:50
MotoGP is very generous. There will be 15 riders to get points in each race.

here's the order:
1st = 25 pts
2nd = 20 pts
3rd = 16 pts
4th = 13 pts
5th = 11 pts
6th = 10 pts
7th = 9 pts
8th = 8 pts
9th = 7 pts

Sachsenring is a tight and twisty circuit, thus lead itself to a close racing.
Sections with low and high speed combination will need agility and stability (it's obviously difficult!) of the bikes.

Last season, Gibernau won with a tight gap against Rossi. He conquered Rossi just few corners before the chequered flag.

I hope this season will be much more interesting, not just Rossi and Gibernau's battle.

Here's the result of First free practice:

1. Rossi
2. Kenny Roberts
3. Hayden
4. Tamada
5. Gibernau
6. Checa
7. Edwards
8. Bayliss
9. Biaggi
10. Barros

well, to my opinion, it still better Rossi-Gibernau battle than Rossi-10 second penalty battle. Although the battle against the penalty does have its own drama:)

long time no see my good man argo.

anyway, as we have already know, Rossi will start at the second pole while Biaggi attain the pole position. Can the Roman Emperor make the best use of his pole position? I don't think so:)

Final Result:

1. Max Biaggi :eek:
2. Alex Barros
3. Nicky Hayden
4. Valentino Rossi
5. Colin Edwards
6. Makoto Tamada

Well.. congrats to Biaggi!!! Finally he beats Rossi. :eek: ;)
Seemed like YAMAHA couldn't find a good suspension setting for Sachsenring. The track is twisty and a lil bumpy. Rossi, several times, couldn't control his bike and went wide in many corners.
Gibernau, Abe and Melandri were out of the race early.

Good race tho... good result and that's good for the whole competition.
Rider's standing is now going more tight than ever. Rossi, Biaggi and Gibernau are on top of the table.

next week: British MotoGP - Donington Park.

Obviously, Donington Park is typically similar to Sachsenring, tight and twisty circuit. It will be (as usual) a tough race, at least for the top three (Rossi, Gibernau and Biaggi).
Recently Rossi said that Gibernau is his best rival, but Biaggi has the fastest bike. Let's see how he cope with em both. :)

MotoGP is BACK!!! this is the tenth round of 16. Czech MotoGP at Brno Circuit.

Brno is a twisty circuit with freaky racing-line. even Valentino Rossi must work hard to win here.

Early in the qualifying sessions Yamaha and Ducati were dominant, but It was raining JUST before the final qulifying times. And Gibernau is certainly the best on wet track. Fortunately Rossi is in third position, still in the frontrow.

Here's the starting grid:

anyway, after a month of no slick tire, twisty circuit, crash or sliding, the MotoGP is back fpr our pleasure. and the good things is that it we wouldn't be confused to choose whether to watch seri-a or motogp.

even though there is a great disturbance in the force, i hope that rossi will win again - Master Yoda.

to my opinion, after watching the Brno race, the battle will only include Rossi and Sete. Biaggi will definetely out of the battle, after seeing max being overtaken a few times. even though in the end max claim the 3rd spot, but it's just lucky that he claimed it.

Mad Max... among the top riders in MotoGP, He is the last.. :D.
Obviously he got the fastest bike on track, but his racing style is just too old-fashioned. I never saw him doing "rear wheel sliding", something that is very important nowadays. That's why he never win in twisty tracks.

While Rossi is still strugling with the YZR-M1, Gibernau is absolutely flying with his RC211V.

anyway, very interseting competition indeed. :)

Round eleven of the 2004 world championship. Estoril is a good track, there are many corners and chicanes, but the surface is a lil bit bumpy.

Previously Japanese MotoGP were held at Suzuka, but last season there was a terrible accident that killed Daijiro Kato. Since then Japanese MotoGP is moved to Motegi while Suzuka is being renovated.
Obviously Suzuka is more suitable for F-1, not MotoGP or SuperBike.

Motegi is a circuit with many straight lines and broken (slow) corners which is a good benefit for bikes with big power such as Honda. Meanwhile Yamaha will use a new exhaust design, it's the "slash-cut". the silincer will be removed, it will cut the engine power but the power transfer will be smoother.

You're right, Idan.. seemed like Rossi still use silincers on his M1 exhausts. Probably he was quite confident to handle the power. but It wasn't enough because Tamada's RCV was very much powerful.
Rossi held him for 7 laps, but after that Tamada led the race comfortably. too bad there were 6 riders crashed out already in the 1st lap including Biaggi, Capirossi :D, Hayden and Edwards.
IMO Rossi could chase down Tamada but he played safe because his rivals were already left behind. If he push himself and his bike too hard then he might couldn't finish after all. ;)

This is the first MotoGP race ever in the Middle-East.
Losail Circuit features a 12-metre wide flowing layout lasting 5.4 kilometres. The main straight stretches to 1100 metres (just like Catalonia), while the whole circuit is surrounded by artificial grass designed to prevent sand from the neighbouring desert blowing onto the race track.

Here's the 'quite surprising' starting grid:

Before the race got started, Rossi and Biaggi were penalised due to illegal grid preparation. Both started the race from 23rd and 24th grid respectively.
Any such grid preparation is illegal and, after a protest by rivals teams, Rossi and Biaggi have been given a six-second qualifying time penalty that has dropped him to the back row.

Rossi started the race brilliantly as he was up to 8th place by the end of lap 1. Checa led the race by a tight margin from Gibernau, and eventually Gibernau took the lead on the next few laps.

on lap 6 Rossi thrown away from his M1 as he ran wide and out of the race. while Gibernau kept his lead to the finish. Checa was unlucky because his M1 got a failure with just 3 laps remaining.

This race absolutely belongs to the Spaniards. Gibernau wins and Xaus secured the 3rd place. :eekani:

Biagggi? he was so lucky because there were many retirements in front of him, but Barros and Hayden overtook him and sent him to 6th place.

Here's the result:
1. Sete Gibernau (ESP) Telefonica Movistar Honda
2. Colin Edwards (USA) Telefonica Movistar Honda
3. Ruben Xaus (ESP) d'Antin Ducati
4. Alex Barros (BRA) Repsol Honda

Carlos Checa (ESP) Gauloises Fortuna Yamaha
Marco Melandri (ITA) Fortuna Gauloises Tech 3

Neil Hodgson (GBR) d'Antin Ducati
Nobuatsu Aoki (JPN) Proton Team KR
Valentino Rossi (ITA) Gauloises Fortuna Yamaha

yup. Rossi is already a legend in that age. :rock3:
He won the title in 2 different bikes respectively. Last rider did that was Eddie Lawson many years ago.
Maybe in the future Rossi will win the title with another different bike. Hopefully it would be DUCATI. ;)

sorry for the late post but please allow me to congratulate on Rossi and Yamaha victory this season. The battle for this season had been great. Rossi really lift the Yamah team to it's dream after they failed to do so in so many years. Although I agree that Rossi should do the same to other motor team such as Ducati or Aprillia, but I still hope that he stays in Yamaha for a little bit longer until Yamaha can built a good bike like Honda's RCV. After Yamaha did that, then Rossi can move to other to do the same thing he did in Yamaha.

Again, Congratulation to Rossi :cheers: :cheers: :cheers:

actually Ducati had done great things in motorsport history, especially in 4-stroke bike in World Superbike Championships. but in MotoGP they couldn't build a perfect bike, the engine is great but the chassis is poor.
maybe only Rossi could tame DUCATI's wildness. ;)

IMO, as an old player in Superbike Championship, Ducati should've been able to build a bike that can challenge for the tittle. Superbike is a championship for a bike over 1000cc, right? so given their experience in handling a much greater powered bike, it should be no problem to build a MotoGP bike. You'll have to excuse my english if it's not to good :r7:

with the advance technology these days, it shouldn't be a problem to build a powerfull chassis to tame the Desmosedici's power. Well, Ducati has another 4 months now to start experiment again so they can live up their name as one of the master of the Superbike Championship.

that's not quite, Idan... MotoGP bikes are very much WILDER than Superbikes. MotoGP bikes are more to prototype bikes, while Superbikes are just "enhanced" common bikes. in this case, DUCATI just need more time to build good bikes. you know HONDA already started their R&D long-long time ago, even when MotoGP concept itself wasn't created yet. ;)
and one more thing, DUCATI need Rossi. :cool:

Valentino Rossi has won the Valencia MotoGP, after battling bar-to-bar with the likes of Troy Bayliss, Nicky Hayden, Makoto Tamada and finally Max Biaggi to take his ninth victory of the year - in front of 122,000 fanatical fans.

CHE SPETTACOLO slipped to 6th at the start - behind Hayden, Gibernau, Bayliss, Biaggi and Tamada - but by the end of first lap the Italian had clawed his way up to fourth, having sliced past Hayden and Bayliss. He was then benefited from a battle between Gibernau and Biaggi as the pair both running wide on lap two after swapping positions several times. After battling for several Rossi could overtake Tamada dan maintain his lead to finish. While Tamada dropped to 5th.

Anyway poor performances by the Spaniards, Sete couldn't keep in touch with the leading group, Checa slipped but could continue the race, and Xaus crashed and retired.
The most unluckiest rider was Nicky Hayden. in the earlier laps he looks promising but in the half of the race he did a mistake - ran wide and eventually slipped. His 'special fan', the NBA legend Michael Jordan must be disappointed.
