I want to know your preferences about the new season in Spain.
who will be the winner?

Real Madrid with Owen? Barca with his impressive new squad? The "Italians" of Valencia? Deportivo?....

Well I voted Real because they have strengthened the squad quite a lot.

However, Valencia and Barca should be right up there so its very difficult to call

I'm not at all sure.......barca let one of their main players go in the form of Davids...and i am not seeing them bringing in anyone to fill that void....

Real is still weak.....plus i can assure you dressing room morale will be very low this year...

Valencia will have to gel which

Depor...i have not seen any improvemnts with them...but they are probably the only one i would even think about

Valencia would be my choice cause they have got these great players of Italy Corradi, Fiore, and Di Viao. Apart from that the same old Ayala, Mista, Baraja and Aimar makes this team one of the most dangerous team to face. Real Madrid will have to sort out the old problem of having 11 great players but they still r loosing and now they have added the 12th great Owen to loose even more. Barca and Depor... r other contenders for the title but they will have to work twice as hard as Valencia to win the title. Simpley cause Valencia side is more talented and they will be very confident after winning the La Liga n UEFA cup. :zany:

real are probably my favourites, the addition of samuel will improve their defence no end.

barca lost davids , kluivert, overamars and a couple other dutchman and brought in larsson and the overrated deco, they should be up there come the end of hte season, nut u never know with them.

valencia, lost their coach benitez, and i think this will rule out their chances of winning.

depor, well on their day can beat anybody, but are far too inconsisntent to be regarded as title challengers, definatley the weakest of the 4 teams.

Objectively I think I would have to pick Barca. But as we know, Barca are the Inter of Spain :) It doesn't really matter who they buy, they still loose.

i voted real madrid cos they have finally sorted out the imbalance in their side. samuel is a worldclass defender and woodgate is good too so centre halves will no longer be a problem for them. also with these 2 signings helguera will be able to play in his best position as a defensive midfielder again and not have to play out of position as a centre half. the following 11 look very strong.

Casillas

Salagdo Woodgate Samuel Carlos

Beckham Helguera
Figo Zidane

Raul
Ronaldo

By the way when does the spanish season start. any idea of the fixtures?

I think it will be Barca!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rock3: And Barca is good team and you can`t say that Barca is Inter! Though I support Valencia in Spain. :respect:

at a similar poll last year i picked valencia :) for the reason that they were not playing CL. this year they won't win it. first of all, they are defending champions and the team everyone want to beat. second, they will probably have CL in their minds. third; they have ranieri as coach.
nonetheless, i HOPE for valencia but doubt it.

barcelona looks so strong but i aso think that giving up davids was a pretty stupid thing to do. they now look a bit like madrid looked last year.

deportivo will be close as always without winning anything. 3rd or 2nd spot for them.

and i think real madrid will win. yak! finally, it looks like their defence is in control. guti won't be playing as DM and helguera will probably move back into midifeld - although he actually did very well in central defence last season.
zidane and figo can focus fully on clubfootball and both will want to wash away last years dissapointments, so i think they both will be on fire although i suspect that figo could be benched a lot more and beckham moved into right, with guti as AM pairing helguera in midfield. it would be a lot more balanced and something to fear!

I agree with Mr. Dragana about Valencia. I don't think they are MORE talented than other teams (though they are clearly full of talent...), they simply were a very close team, and the coach was able to get them to play very well together. Now that Benitez is gone, I don't think they will be in the wop three.

The rest, however, I do not agree with. Firstly, I don't think Deco is overrated. I don't think that he had a great Euro cup, but he definitely showed why is considered one of the best. Plus, I don't think Barca's best reinforcments are Larsson and Deco. I mean, Larsson is great, but I don't know if you have seen Belleti and Edmilson play. THEY provide the crosses for Larsson to score. Anyways, Barca is #1. Oh yeah, and now we'v got Eto'o, HOLY MOLE!!!!!

sigh...ranieri is already losing with valencia (the supercup). i think he is a good coach with so-so players but he is just not top-class. no vision.
it's still early, but morinho really looks to be making the difference at chelsea...

yesterday valencia won the european sueprcup.
although, i didn't watch the match in full, i can't grasp ranieri's lineup. corradi+di vaio in front. mista and aimar on the bench. strange, but i guess they're out of form..

Mista, Di Vaio and Corradi have been switched throughout pre-season, probably to see which partnership is best.

I saw the match and it wasn't that entertaining. It looks like Fernandez wants to continue Maurinho's work at Porto, but they were not as good as last year, although they can improve and Diego will definately have a big part to play this year.

Valencia were very impressive as they were organised, technically good and the Italian forwards did well, although it took some time for them to get into the match. I wonder how often Fiore will get to play, as Valencia already have a very strong midfield.

i wondered too. valencia has the stronges midfield in the spanish league but apparently angulo is heading for arsenal, so perhaps that leaves a slot open...
interesting how so many spaniards end up in EPL these days. for sure it's going to have a positive effect on the league and make it more competitive in europe over the next years. (well, also through the portuguese and french etc.)
let's only hope that bitter players like danny murphy (anti-europe, anti-foreign coaches) will realise that it's for the best of english football.

ah .. i was supposed to say this earlier but even during the summer i belived that barca will win it... valencia are alot weaker with ranieri in charge... what kinda dumbass would bench vicente away to bilbao??? italians or not, the coach makes 50% of the team, and ranieri thinks he playing in the EPL where he can bench his star man vs midtable teams and still cruise with a victory.

barca i belive needed a DM, some1 like maniche to play in davids position and if ur going for a holder then there are better options that edmilson, the other transfers are great esp etoo deco and giuly. i also belive they shouldve kept luis garcia or atleast loan him. but theyre still favorites to me.

real still need a strong DM i belive, with this fomration barca will shatter them to peices.

depor i rule out.

I think Real Madrid. It has very good midfielder line, forward line, goalkeeper, but its difensive line rather bad.
