Record Low Ticket Sales For Juve Games Continue
9/29/2004 12:33:00 PM
Juventus continue to suffer from terrible attendances at their Champions League home games.
Yesterday’s match versus Maccabi Tel Aviv saw only 6,494 tickets sold, 1,000 of which were bought by the Israeli side’s fans.
It is now three consecutive seasons that Juve’s ticket sales for Champions League matches have been progressively decreasing, a trend the Bianconero management is unable to stop.
(Can they even feed their ballboys? Let alone their players... :delol: :delol: )
WTF... Juve's problems should be good news to us! :devf: :devf:

 6,000 ?!
I knew things were bad but thats shocking...
I understand it, I wouldn't pay to see them play either ;)
they must get away from the delle alpi ASAP and start reducing ticket prices!!!! That is absolutely shocking for one of the biggest teams in EUrope!!!! Why do they have such low attendances?
Cause they're boring to watch.
They only made 116.000 € from ticket sales in this match. (Italian goal.com)
Better so.
But they receive a 90m€ paycheck by SKY Italia each year.
but still why such low attedances for such a game(I know they aint the biggest team Maccabi still champs league still lookin for a 30,000 surely?

I was told that it is easy to get tickets to watch Juve play. You can go to the game and buy tickets at the door.
Another reason for Juve having poor attendances is that believe it or not more people in Torino support Torino than Juventus. Torino have more fans than juve in Italy.
Delle Alpi is a terrible stadium and Juve don't have many supporters in Torino so I'm not really surprised that so few people have showed up to see a match vs Maccabi.
Still pretty sad to see though...
Torino have more fans than juve in Italy.
That is not true. Juve have more fans in Italy than any other club. Their problem is that very few of those live in Torino. Hence they get paid well for TV-rights (because their fans can't come to the stadium) but fail to fill Del Alpi.

Several years ago I've heard that biggest Juve community lived in Milano. :eekani:
maybe in the future they'll move to Milano. :D
What is the capacity of Del Alpi?
60.000 or 70.000 or even more?
The new Napoli played its first Serie C1 match in front of 60,000 fans at the Stadio San Paolo. The club, created by movie mogul Aurelio De Laurentiis following the bankruptcy of Napoli Calcio, started its League campaign with a 3-3 draw against Cittadella.
Giampiero Ventura's men went behind to Carteri's opener after just four minutes, but turned it all around with Ignoffo, Savino and a D'Aniello own goal. However, their lack of fitness levels – as the team has been together for less than a month – showed all too clearly in the second half. Cittadella fought back and earned the point with Giacobbo's free kick and a De Gasperini finish. The future is nonetheless looking bright for Napoli, who have already sold 15,000 season tickets for Serie C1, almost as many as Juventus in the top flight.
Doesnt reflect too well on juve does it!

They would be well served doing so, Del Alpi is probably the worst stadium used in Serie A. The atmosphere is about as exciting as an accounts office.

60.000 or 70.000 or even more?
its 69,??? not sure exact figure its under 70,000 but above 69,000
the average attendance last year in serie a for them was under 35,000

if it is true that the biggest juve community live in milan which may well be true (the times ive been in milan i met a lot of juve supporters in the hotel staff taxi drivers etc) even though i thought it was in the referees association! it should not be a huge problem milan is not that far from turin 120km id say a 2hr train journey at the most. if i was living a 2 hour train journey to the san siro i be there every game so thats no real excuse for the juve supporters
That showed us "how poor the Juventini are"
they prefer watch the game on TV rather than coming into the stadium. :D
Inter's fans are better, tho they didn't win as many as Juve or Milan :D but lotsa Interisti always filled up the San Siro's seats.
i did hear juve played a champs league game at san siro and got a sell out or something?
i thinks because theyre stadium sucks soo bad...ive heard rumours that theyre gonna make it closer to the pitch... like british stadiums... not good for us... id love to see juve suffer economically...HATE THEIR GUTS!
i can recall one time they filled the stadium.. agaisnt real!

Inter's fans are better, tho they didn't win as many as Juve or Milan :D but lotsa Interisti always filled up the San Siro's seats.
I don't think Juventini are poor; What I've heard is that in Torino the richer class supports Juve whereas the working class supports Torino. Giovanni, mind to correct me?
Delle Alpi holds 73.017.
The problem with the Juve attendances are:
1. It is a stadium with a friggin running track around it.
2. The Stadio Delle Alpi is located in an odd place where it is cold and chilly considering the location of Turin as well. Stadio Delle Alpi -> Stadium of the Alps ... it ain't warm :D
3. Torino has hardly any Juventini. Most are Torino fans. Juve's fans are all over Italia though.
4. Juve mgmt knows this problem and is working on restructuring their stadium to a new state of the art 40, 000 seater arena. They wanted to build a new stadium but it is too costly so they are going to renovate the Delle Alpi and maybe put in heaters there as well coz your butt is supposed to freeze there :D
5. Juve's fans normally only turn up for the BIG GAMES. They don't bother to turn up otherwise for UCL games. You can expect 40, 000 + crowds for the Bayern game easily.
6. Even after this mess Juve still boasts one of the strongest home records in Europe for the UCL!

how can all of you laugh at this. if this continues and juve goes down, quality of serie a would go down altogether. imagine playing serie a with a probably financially-crisis juventus. that would suck. I wouldnt want anything happen to milan, lazio, roma or inter because they give good taste to italian serie a. without them and the games football would suck.
and yes, I am only writing this out of spite :D bloody juve torino fans cant even get their butt up to the stadia.

You are correct about that, Housin.. I also knew that...
but you are wrong about my point.
"poor" in that sentence didn't refer to their "finance", but their "spirit".
Did I mention about the cost?

...
"Serie A without Juventus" would be just like "Formula One without Ferrari".
Some might say "It ain't Serie A anyway.."
but some other might say "Serie A becomes more interesting".

Hi everybody!
Dis is my first post but this really does intrigue me. .
why so little support in the home of Italy's most successful, not to mention,
most popular club ?
Can some1 tell me the history of Torino n Juve's rivalry n why it is Torino that
has the majority support, does this mean in the Turin Derby that the majority
of fans r of Torino ?

losing sucks but having Juve rocks :D
anyway, if I am not mistaken Juve's main fans are from the South anyway, so that might explain things a bit.
don't play! and you'll never lose. ;)
yeah and ur the one that said i have the quote of the day huh? :rotfl:
I was discussing this with a colleague of mine (a Juventino) yesterday and he said Stadio Delle Alpi really sucks big time.
Not only it is a stadium with a friggin running track around it, the structure stadium is so bad that you can't see a single thing on the pitch if you're on the upper ring! (At least there is no running track at San Siro. :delol: )
The stadium is also at the "wrong" side of Torino, which means an extra 30 to 40 minutes drive for the fans coming from Milano (And there are plenty of Juventini in Milan indeed!)
Even with the low attendances, Juve still has the most TV money in Italy, much more than Milan & Inter.
In the end, I told my colleague I'll buy him a complimentary ticket at Delle Alpi's upper ring. At least he'll have more fun watching passing clouds than Juve's passing, which of course is not existent. :devf: :devf: :devf:
Needless to say, what happened next was a series of :pchate: :musk: :swars:
Of course, in the end it was me who finished :p283: :smileani:

Didn't he realize that Juve also SUCKS big time? :D

typically British' stadium. ;)
one more thing I hate about Delle Alpi... Its goal net! :D
id like to play in japanese stadiums if i were a pro... they look great... nice turf, great fans and nice goals
Juve's misery makes me merry. :D

Peh.
Yes Japanese stadias look great. they have great fans too, namely those who support kashima antlers
I prefer classic British stadiums because the supporters in frontrow are seated very close to the pitch. ;)
i dont thnk they would ever take running track off Olimpico coz the fans would cause mayhem ina british style stadia!!

A 40,000+ crowd against Bayern easily? :grinser: Haroon buddy, you were way too optimistic. :delol:
After an embarassing attendance of only 6,494 at the Stadio Delle Alpi in their previous Champion's League encounter against Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Juventus were expecting a huge turnout against one of Europe's powerhouse in Bayern Munchen at their home ground in yesterday's Clash of the Titans encounter in Turin, especially when the capacity of the Stadio Delle Alpi is an impressive 70,000.
The attendance for this titanic showdown between 2 of Europe's biggest clubs turned out to be 18,089! :eekani: :haha:
Whatever the Juve management is doing right now, keep staying on that right track! :devf: :devf: :devf:
I'm dead certain we can expect a sellout of 80,000+ at the San Siro for Milan's upcoming matches against Barca & Inter. :smileani:

Bah. 18 000. I don't give a rat's butt about the attendance in Delle Alpi. It's one of the things you might cannot change, but hopefully will with the new stadia. Either way, we won.
building a new stadium ain't sufficient. Juve must move out of Torino. :D

That is nothign to cheer about. He is just one commander in that evil empire. :yuck:
Forget about Juve and focus on Milan. There nothing we can do about them until we play them. Let me remind you that they are 5 points ahead of us and we WILL get 6 points when beating them home and away ;)
