bit of a strange one - but in May 2005 i will be in Milan to watch Milan- Juventus with my girlfriend ( both season ticket holders ) and it coincides with our 6th year anniverary together.
So would be a great time i feel to get engaged but need help on location within milan and any ideas any of you may have. It has to be a romantic setting but nearby as only in Milan for two days and part of that is the title decider !!!!
thanks
Giovanni

maybe at the Milan Store? :zany:
your girfriend will be :d55:
Do they have a jumbotron at San Siro? If there is one, but some space on it for your "will you marry me" message :) A bit cheezy, I know, but she is a Milan fan too.
One word of advice from a 65-year old man:
RECONSIDER

One word of advice from a 65-year old man:
are you 65?
Yes, Giovanni, I am a 65-year old teenager- born in 1940.
So you both are big Milanfans and also go together to a match?
If it's possible, contact the Manager of Guiseppe-Meazza-Stadium (ask Debs, the Admin, she knows someone who may can help you with it) and before 1st half is over you should leave your seat to get a drink or do something else.
Then when the halftime starts a big heart appearce on the jumbotron and same time you hear through the loudspeakers a heartbumping. I am sure everbody in the stadium would look at the jumbotron now and suddenly the name of your girlfriend should be seen now. After that a countdown starts from 6 down to "0". And when "0" arrive the one and only question will be viewable "XXX will you marry me?" With love XXX.
Or if it's possible you should stand down on the field with a microphon in your hand and ask this question live in front of thousands of other milanfans.
Using this methode everyone could be sure, that no girl would ever dare to refuse this special purposal :D
PS: Or if it's possible take a video of yourself while you just ask this one special question into the camera, so when the countdown comes to "0" this short videosequenze is viewable on the jumbotron. So you can sit all the time next to your girlfriend and watch her emotions and reactions directly.
you could bring her up to Lake Como an hour by train from Milan, i am sure she would like that setting if you are not prepared to ask her with 85000 people watching
go to the roof of the duomo....
but of course Susi's ideas are much, much better

I like Susi's idea! Even if she was not sure, whether to say yes or no - by being sourrounded by such an enormously large crowd of people she would certainly say YES!!!
And if she's a Milan-fan she would like it, I'm sure. That would be an unforgettable experience for her!!!
But what will happen if the guys in the curva will start insulting the engaged couple??? :ilol:
FIGURA DI MERDA!!!

Lorenzo are you listening???:D
Hmm...another idea which comes to my mind is (ok a bit expensive but same time intimitate and romantic one), that you could stay during the weekend in a nice hotel (I guess the Milangame is sunday right?). What your girl does not know is, that you also rent a second room in the hotel. So when you pretend, that you want to take dinner outsite somewhere in the town on saturday you should bring her to the second room instead, where you prepared hundreds of lightning cancels which shows the question "will you marry me" for example or just a big heart and asked her personaly and then take your dinner there.
Or second idea you can create a special placard/poster (don't know the really word for that in english but I mean this placards where you see commercialstuff) so when you are doing some sightseeing you pass this placard "accidental".
Or take her out to dinner and order champagne and prepare her glass with a ring when she has to go "somewhere"?

FIGURA DI MERDA!!!
Oh ok I forgot that some pple without any romance in the heart are may acting foolish and idiotic so (I suppose you mean with guys in the curva the dopentusfans right ;) ?)...ok...this thing with the jumbotron can also be arranged during a Stadiontour without hundreds of other pple watching you ;)

wow, Susi you really know many ways that men should propose.
However, thanks to you, many men are in trouble (Lorenzo being the most obvious ;) ), as their girlfriends (or boyfriends) want them to do what you say. :tong: :D
Hey Wils, if you plan to propose, I suggest Susi's first way, seeing as that would be one of the greatest moments of any Milan fan and if I was a woman, which I'm not, I would definately say yes if someone did that ;)
btw, Susi, if I'm ever gonna propose to a girl, I'm coming straight to you for tips ;)

I think Susi watches too much television.
Nice ideas Susi :D we are all in trouble now, dangerous thread :tong:
Simply take her to a McDonald's and while you are taking a big bite off your Big Mac pop the question to her! If she accepts in those conditions under those circumstances then you have yourself a keeper! :D Good Luck. :)
I think Susi watches too much television.
:haha:
Definately not, because everybody can be romantic without watching television and I still think that a proposal is something special, so it should be definately a outstanding moment for both parts... :)
Beside that this guy asked for romantic ideas, so maybe pple (like me) think about a proposal in a creative and romantic way
Nice ideas Susi :D we are all in trouble now, dangerous thread :tong:
Why in trouble? When someone want to make a proposal he/she expect a yes instead of a no so better be a bit more creative instead of doing a proposal between a commercial break in front of TV or between a burger and a coke ;) :D

Thanks :) But somehow I think not many guys here have girlfriends who are same time reading this forum and take a look at my proposal-ideas (instead of Lorenzo of course (if you started to :r7: after reading them Lorenzo, then sorry *cough) :D

OK Dev, feel free to contact me ;)
There seems to be marked differences between what are male and female posters considers to be a romantic proposal...:)
PS. Wils, don't listen to the girls, ladies just love sexy sh1t like proposing at McDonalds ;)

Think of the money that that big-screen proposal will cost.
Considering that big rich companies place their advertisements on them.
You could buy yourself a nother season ticket for that money :D
my first advice is:
TAke her out of Milano
punto.
Go to Venice, go to Florence, go to Rome, go to Romantic cities.. Go for a romantic weekend all by yourself somewhere out in the country inToscana, drink Chianti at the evenings, eat delicious food, have the beautiful nature all around you and camps full of trees and flowers..
but please, anywhere else in Italy than Milano
or on the coasts of Sardegna(SArdinia?), the mountains of the Dolomits, La Spezia....
Milano is the worst city, BELIEVE ME :)
A woman cares more about this than Milan, the team, so i'mpretty sure she'll appreciate more if you take her to any of the other places i mentioned earlier or others you know in ITaly. But if she however cares about Football or Milan then do it like people said here before (Susi;)well done ;))
Honestly believe me, maybe it's hard... ma Milano come cittā fa cagare............ c'č solo il Milan e basta.. e l'ultima cena :D
So, increase (alongen) your trip and go see a match before or after the proposal...
I dunno but that's all i can say :)

Sandra's spot on the money! Take her to a McDonald's in Venice or Florence! :bri: That would seal the deal! :devs:
