8' Milan 0 - 1 Udinese (A. Di Natale)

Udinese took the lead against the run of play. A diagonal ball from the left by Iaquinta found Di Natale outside the box and Di Natale smacked in a long range shot into Dida's right top corner

Udi did it last season, beating Milan on Sansiro .. so I dont want to be pissimistic here or even taking hopes down, but I as I was discussing with my friends earlier this mornin and last night, it will be a defeat :(

I hope and I wish that I will be wrong and Milan will screw'em up .. Forza Milan

Tactically, Udinese have had the better of us.

We need to be really careful in this match as they're defending with numbers and breaking VERY quickly on the break

Crespo gets the ball to Kaka, but De Sanctis collects

30' Milan 1 - 1 Udinese (A. Shevchenko)

A low cross from the right by Kaka eluded the whole Udinese defence and Sheva made no mistake of knocking it home from 6 yards out. :devs:

16-01-2005, 10:10
Sheva was assissted by Kaka and had an easy knock in to the back of the net

- milan free kick. Sheva blasts over the bar. Gattuso argues it should be a corner because the ball hit the wall. Replays shows it did!
- milan taking control of this match slowly. milan trying to puncture and let the air out of udinese's confidence.

Nadir
16-01-2005, 10:13
Jaap Staam looks good considering he has been off so long. Milan counter attack with kaka.Seedorf to sheva. Sheva - great cross! Kaka heads it and hits the post!!!

I dont know it this was mentioned before, but its a very good thing:

Seeing lots of football and other sports over inet:

HERE!!! (http://personal.ie.cuhk.edu.hk/~xyzhang2/)
You can get the program, CoolStreaming, which is based on bittorrent sistem, but for watching channels over net. Its beta version, but works really vell sometimes (yesterday i could watch manutd, chelse and arsenal without major problems) Channels with Serie A games a broadcasted too, so right now you can see the game (curently it doesnt work well, dont know if its for the small number of users or something else) Worth checking anyway!!!

BTW: channel has chinese (or smthng) commentary, but its only on left channel. So, you can put all your audio to left right channel and it shouldnt bother you anymore. In control panel/audi settings.

FORZA MILAN!!!

Udinese free kick results from Cafu's foul. Milan counter attack now. Kaka scuffs the pass that could have led to a perfect goal.

ACMILAN1983
16-01-2005, 10:17
Pizarro tries to pass to Pinzi, but the defence clears. Beside the goal where we allowed to be hit on the counter, the defence has done well.

Were improving and the side is improving all the time!

Milan counter again! Sheva passes to seedorf to the right who is completely unmarked. Seedorf should have scored but opts to chip it over de sanctis. Milan are hammering away at Udinese using the counterattack suckerpunch. eventually udinese will be exposed and that is what milan is hoping for

[HT] Milan 1 - 1 Udinese

After a shaky start, we managed to string our passes together and had several goal scoring chances to go ahead. If we just keep playing the way we did for the last 20 minutes of the 1st half, we'll bag all 3 points :devs:

16-01-2005, 10:33
We're not controlling the game as we usually do. We lacked some creativity today, as you all have to admit, our goal was lucky because it was a pass directed to Crespo.. lucky enough, Sheva was also running and got it at the far post.. Kaka's shots aren't half the ones they were last season. It's not Seedorf's day either, he may like 3 or 4 mistakes in the opening 15 minutes, but then he played better.. his 1v1 with the keeper was hard because he didnt control it correctly, if it was any other day, Seedorf would have scored that.. Have you all noticed the number of high balls over Nesta? They think they can catch Nesta with high balls haha.. And there's no one to blame for Di Natale's stunner.. Dida should have put in an effort though. Otherwise, our display is quite average today. We need Dhorasoo/Rui on for Pirlo and watch the enormous difference. Also Cafu isn't doing his usual runs on the right flank, not as much as he usually does..

Seedorf jinking back on the right...NEAR-POST BALL! JANKULOVSKI! SENDS THE PERFECT GLANCING HEADER INTO THE BOTTOM CORNER OF HIS OWN NET! It's normally quite difficult to see what players are trying to do when they score an OG, but there it was clear...he wanted to put that one into the bottom corner.

90' Milan 3 - 1 Udinese (Kaka)

A low pass from the right by JDT found Sheva, Sheva's 1st touch took the ball away from him but Kaka came charging through, "stole" the ball off Sheva, accelerated into the box, wrong-footed De Sanctis and coolly slotted the ball into the low left corner. :star:

Well it seems Ambro squared it off to Sheva who then layed it off and Kaka ran onto it, but Sheva could and would have continued alone if Kaka didn't show up.

Still credit to Sheva for the assist.

Also, lately Sheva hasn't scored every match, but his contribution has been argubly the most in the side. Incredible!

Good game, but it is amazing how many real scoring opportunities Milan missed. Seedorf should have done better in the first half. Kaka had two headers than even Gattuso would have scored on.

Most positive is that the players are playing well together (with emphasis on together). It looks like they are enjoying the game and are making sacrefices for eachother.

Goal of the game: Jankulowski :) He could not have done it better if he wore a Milan jersey ;) (I dread the discussions on XT that will follow that goal)

great game...we had many scoring opportunities, but hey, can't sink it every time :) i especially liked the way our milan team really came together and made unselfish moves/plays. the last goal by kaka' felt really good, to secure the score...but also the way sheva let him take it over was true sportsmanship.

Overall Milan did well...a couple of missed chances but still enough to win

Dida: B+. He does well to deny a great strike in the second half. The first goal is weird, what was he doing there?

Maldini: A-. Boy... if there is anyone saying Maldini is old, then he should watch this game. If I were Kaladaze, I would understand why I'm on the bench.

Nesta: A. EXCELLENT.

Stam: A. SOLID.

Cafu: B+. Not his usual self, but helps a lot in attack too. ALmost created a goal from the right.

Gattuso: A. Wins a lot of ball for Milan.

Pirlo: A-. Bayman, what exactly are you complaining about Pirlo? I thought he is really amazing... I don't remember him losing any ball, and got a few tackle as well.

Crespo: B. Not alert but as a team, he does well.

Shevchenko: A-. Great positioning for goal. Good control for the 3rd goal. Overall impressive and contributive.

Kaka`: A- Fast, daring... Excellent. Scored a goal.

Seedorf: B. Missed a great chance. have missed a few pass too. If Bayman has someone to complain, it should be Seedorf.

Capitano was superb...him outrunning players almost half his age?!?!How did he do that?! :proud:

Who is the most fouled player in Serie A? Is Kaka one of the top players to be fouled?!This season ,players from other teams freak out when Ricky start to run with the ball...the only way for them to stop him is fouling him e.g tug his shirt, kick his arse :p231:

Good game, but it is amazing how many real scoring opportunities Milan missed. Seedorf should have done better in the first half. Kaka had two headers than even Gattuso would have scored on.

Most positive is that the players are playing well together (with emphasis on together). It looks like they are enjoying the game and are making sacrefices for eachother.

Goal of the game: Jankulowski :) He could not have done it better if he wore a Milan jersey ;) (I dread the discussions on XT that will follow that goal)

i couldnt have said it better, but i think kaka played good apart from the missed he has had.

unselfish play by Sheva...tremendous!!~

but the Janku's goal was comforting...i really felt he is a :rone: already :dontcare:

What a day...Milan outperforms the opposition once again and shows more and more WHO is the real LEADER of SERIE A.

hats off to GIANFRANCO ZOLA for his last minute STUNNER sending the ever so 'fouling' Juventini back to Torino with their TAILS between their legs :D

wow I'm so happy that we won 3-1 to udinese
and we keep chasing juve .I'm so proud of milan .since this milan
who we love and die for them
here is fuFULL TIME: MILAN 3-1 UDINESE 1/16/2005
After three minutes of added time, referee Trefoloni blows the final
whistle on a Milan 3-1 win over Udinese at the San Siro. The Rossoneri
cancelled out an early opener from Antonio Di Natale with Andriy
Shevchenko's 30-minute equaliser. Then, after Marek Jankulovski's own
goal, Kaka sealed the game in the final minute.
KAKA: 'The fans kept urging me' 1/16/2005
MILAN - At the end of the game against Udinese, Kaka who scored the
third goal, said: 'Before I scored, I hit the post with a header and
then fired in a firm shot which came back off a defender when the ball
was heading for the back of the net. I thought I wasn't going to have
any luck today but the fans kept on chanting singing my name. They
really helped me in this and I celebrated in front of them after my
goal. My confidence has been repaid in the end as I managed to score.
I am very pleased. We always had the game under control, we played
with care. I feel fine, now I feel more mature, I have learned a lot,
I am developing and now I am putting into practice what I want to do.'

With normal turf on San Siro yesterday, Milan would have played 25% better.
This is valid for future too and it will count.

To Grande Milan:

Milan needs a much better turf than the San Siro one because it has the longest ball possession in Serie A, it passes much more than the other teams and it creates the most number of goal opportunities. Good turf is needed to smooth construction and make logical the turning of oportunities into goals. On the contrary, visiting teams do not need good turf. To repel the ball as far as possible from your own net, one clue is wait the atacking team be mistaken sometime during construction. Bad (San Siro) turf help those mistakes.
Kaka, I think, is the most prominent victim of bad turf. Seedorf also, at times.

:rone:

Thats a great result for the team. I am so happy we managed to beat Udinese as we all knew it would be a tough game for us. Kaka played great and he needed to because Pirlo was not fit. Though there was no way Ancelotti was going to leave him out of such an important game. I think with the yellow card he got the 2 weeks break he will get will do him well.

And its true what someone said. Jankulovski is a :rone: already by the looks of it.

Does anyone know how I can put a photo/pic on my profile???

Forza Milan!!!!

a 25% increase on 100 is more than a 25% increase on 10.

How can we be grateful to uncle Zola, he saved his team 1 point and Rossoneri 2 points by a header at the finishing minute with an age of 38 and hight of 168cm!

Grazie!

I went to the match, and I can say that Milan absolutely dominated all the way through. Udinese's goal was luck. A really fancy shot on the counter I think. Other than that they basically had nothing. Milan had so many chances, Seedorf in particular was weak in finishing. The own goal was so funny, there was no one near Jankulovski and he went out of his way to head it in. Great game overall.

This was an excellent game by Milan, and except for that unstoppable goal (even though Dida should have been in a better position) we played our game, and created the most chances to score.

Again, I have to say I am disappointed not to see Rui, but Kaka´s performance makes any questions along those lines redundant. The Brazilian was in irrepresible form, and though he missed a clear header, he can be forgiven that, especially after the wonderful way he sent the Udine keeper the wrong way to score the clincher.

The turf (even from my vantage point in Jamaica) looked terrible, and indeed, we should consider artificial turf, or change the structure of the stadium so that the field can get enough sunlight (guess which option we are likely to take?)

With Pirlo out for the next game, I hope Carlo gives Rui the call up for his position, though I think he may opt for Dhorasso...

JDT did not have a bad game, but should have scored from the opportunity he got just after coming on...it doesnt matter that he didnt score, as we did win the game overall, but IMO, he shouldnt have scorned that chance.

Thanks to ESPN Int for carrying the game....!!!!! I hope they will carry next weeks match as well.

Gattuso had a good game, with very few misplaced passes, he limited himself well in doing what he does best, winning the ball, then making a low risk pass to a more technically adept team mate. This should be his MO from now on!!!!

Seedorf was disappointing, only in that he didnt score when he had the opportunity. He needs to find his goal scoring form like he had at the beginning of the season, as we need goals from midfield, or even the threat of goals from the midfield, which makes our forward´s lives easier.

Juve´s offside goal could have made a mockery of the wonderful match played by Milan, but the Gods of Football were not sleeping, and a plucky performance by Zola was rewarded by a goal that tied the match. Another 2 points dropped by the wobbly old lady.

All in all, an excellent TEAM performance, and I am now even more confident that we will eclipse Juve for the scudetto this season.

a little late as always, but what an outstanding result

Main positive was the great "team" play and the smooth reintroduction of Stam (who I didn't expect to see due to his injuries). We could have taken our chances better, but we got three goals and thats enough to win the match ;)

Dida had a fairly quiet game besides the save from Fava. Can't be blamed for the goal
Cafu had a quiet game by his standards but not bad at all
Nesta was superb as always
Maldini was superb too
Stam was excellent and fitted in naturally
Pirlo controlled play wonderfully and drove forward well when necessary and defended when needed
Gattuso was himself
Seedorf missed the odd chance but was fairly decent overall
Kaka was excellent and scored a goal and set up one. I think people are harsh on his shooting. Last year he was given more space to get the shot in, but this year the opposition are far tighter, making it difficult for him
Crespo was a little off the pace, but contributed a fair amount
Sheva was superb. Scored due to great positioning and his overall play was excellent, contributing a LOT to the side.

Credit to Jankulovski on his first Milan goal :D

Also credit to Di Natale on his incredible goal

A great win and we must continue winning

Juve drawing means were in a great position now!

FORZA SHEVA!
FORZA MAREK!
FORZA KAKA!

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally a weakness which proves that Kaka' is human after all: his heading is horrible! it was a sin not to bury the first one - assisted brilliantly by Sheva - and on the second his timing left much to be desired ....

- apart from that the Brazilian played some spectacular football:star:

Man of the Match, though, was Sheva by a mile. This player has made great advances in terms of team play lately. Having achieved his lifelong goals in football - reaching its peak a few months ago - he seems to play with more tranquility, fact is he's much less selfish than he used to be.

Giovanni
17-01-2005, 19:22
What Laudrup says is so true: even Ancelotti recognised that apart from goals Sheva has understood the importance of being a team player and a leader, because it's common interest to play together and it pays off in time to come.

They reacted as they always did..when Zola scored I heard a voice from the back "FUORI GIOCO!" However, no one really heard him because we were cheering :3band:
