View Full Version : why sell tomasson?
i was wondering... why is everyone convinced that tomasson is leaving?? .. and even if why do u want him to ... and not inzaghi??? ... personally i think selling inzaghi would turn out better for us... i think hes very overrated while the football world seem to disagree with me on that, on the market hes around saaaaayy.. 15M, JDT on the other hand is around 12M.. yet if u think of it, with gila coming who would u rather have as 3rd choice??? a nagging inzaghi or a JDT who would instead want to fight for a starting spot?? ... look at it age wise??? i personally dont care less about age but u gotta admit inzaghi is losing it while tomasson was in his prime last season (this season he was injured alot yet he still managed to score)... other than that, inzaghis comeback seems unreachable because of injuries, tomasson is much more fit..

if it is for more then 10 milions sell him!!!! we need money for gilardino. WE NEED THE MONEY from tomasson in order to buy gilardino. selling inzaghi wont get us as much dough.
We don't need the money, that is not it. what we need is 4 strikers, not more nor less. Which means someone have to leave if both Gilardino and Crespo comes. Inzaghi recently signed a extension to his contract and is a welloved player which means either we don't sign Crespo or we sell JDT.
im still not convinced thats a good reason to sell tomasson and to keep inzaghi.. i mean the points i mentioned i think are stronger. besides ac milan foreva... inzaghi on the market i believe would bring us more money than tomasson but like kris said thats not our main concern.
I don't think that pippo would bring in more cash than tomasson.
whether you like pippo or not everybody knows he had a extremly lousy year due to injury. but exactly for that reason I'm asking you guys what team is willing to take a risk on him. if they have to pay hard cash?
Pippo paycheck is also bigger than tomasson what mean fewer clubs will be interested in purchasing him.
never the less IMHO the most logic player that will leave is pippo but soccer doesn't work on terms of logic. milan usually follows it's heart in that case I think tomasson will leave

nah cuz inzaghi is getting kind of old while tommasson is still in his 20's.
Tomasson would bring us some money and it will be essential for buying gilardino. It will costs us for gila and money doesnt grow on trees. We cant just buy and buy and buy and not sell.
that sounds better but i dont think we should look at it in your way, we should look at it in a way that benefits us... if i were galliani and the asking price for tomasson was say 12M while pippos price was say 9M then i would sell inzaghi ... just because of the fact that tomasson as 3rd choice would be more suitable than inzaghi.
Tomasson should be sacrificed in my opinion, his displays this season have been very poor. he was totally off the pace saturday again, i hope he is let no where near the pitch wednesday. i hope he can prove me wrong but i doubt it, even last season i was never entirely convinced he was milan quality

I think that we should have gilardino before thinking about selling john , i remember that we thought we had cannavaro in our hands then came inter and stole him .
Only because we wanted a younger Nesta :3band:
Hes not the same player as last season, he doesnt seem confident at all since Crespo's arrival. In the past he always made really intellegent runs, but thats not happening anymore. It seems that when we get on our strikers backs they tend to shut us up so hopefully he can score today

inzaghi is one of the most prolific italian strikers out there and his stats speak for themselves. when he is on song, he is a nightmare for defences. inzaghi is losing it? he hasn't played even 2 games this year. in the one champions league game he played, he scored. jdt on the other hand is fairly useless.
Well I am pretty sure the team management agree about the number of strikers we will have on the squad eventhough I don't think its a big problem to have one more. I understand that would mean a guy like JDT sitting in the stands but injuries happen and I wouldn't be surprised if JDT gets the same amount of games with or without 5 strikers.
With that said I think its almost sure he is gone, not Pippo or Crespo, if Gila comes.

crespo should stay. he scored the winning goal for milan in the match with man u.he proved that we can depend on him if sheva is not around. i begin to like crespo. :kotc:
Thomasson has done very well last season and was very reliable but this season has been everything opposite to that I don't know why . Inzaghi became very injury prone this season and last season but still a very good striker who rediscovered himself since he joined us from Juve . In all cases we have a problem upfront because only king Sheva is a prolific , reliable , consistent and perfect striker and he is the best in the world and we are overly reliant on him . His absence for any reason leaves a huge impact on our attacking power . Gilardinio aquisition will make Milan's attack the best in the world and the prospect of a partnership of Sheva/Gilardinio would be more than great . If that happenned and Crespo loan was made permanent and Inzaghi became fit Thomasson will fall in the pecking order to fifth and I believe it is his right in that case to move to any other club .
besides that i noticed ancelotti seems to favour tomasson over inzaghi
I think Tomasson is 28 and Pippo 31/32 so it's not a huge difference in age. Tomasson has done well in the past, but I'm not sure he's good enough for Milan anymore. We should sign Gilardino and maybe a good very young striker to bring through in 2 or 3 years, when Pippo will be retiring. We should maybe look at Robinho because he will be awesome in about 2 years, and he knows Kaka, Cafu, Dida etc.
Inzaghi is not for sale surly besides that Inzaghi is 32 so his market value is low he woun't bring cash to the club, Tomasson yes IMO not more than 10 millions euros.
So if Inzaghi will not recover Tomasson will remain defenitly. If Inzaghi recovers well (and i have doubs) I think Tomasson will leave so to get Crespo and Gilardino.
I don't know, I like them both Inzaghi and JDT.
JDT played great last seasson he scored (I think) 12 goals, and he can do that again.
Inzaghi played great before injury. I heard that he will maybe retire this year if he doesn't recover good. :dontkn:
If he retires I hope the club can keep him in some capacity, maybe as a coach or something. Or maybe get him in the Curva starting some of the chants!!! :)

Inzaghi is not a finished man
i hope he doesnt work in the club when he is done, im sorry but i just dont like him
We should sign Gilardino and maybe a good very young striker to bring through in 2 or 3 years, when Pippo will be retiring.
Last year we bought young striker Nicola Pozzi for 2-3mil so I'dd say give this lad a chance before buying a new young striker
I think we sould sell Tomasson and Inzaghi.
We have Sheva and Crespo, and they are he first option on Carletto´s mind, so i think we need the money to buy Gilardino and other striker YOUNG, because, Tomasson is not a 100% reliable to Carletto, and Inzaghi is not an striker for the bench, and Crespo is much better than him. So, we need to buy Gilardino and maybe a South American and young stiker who is not so expensive.
Thats my opinion...
Sorry if my English is not so good, but i dont speak english so much.
C ya!

i do agree with mirko.crespo should stay and either jdt or pippo should leave.i think we can depend more on crespo rather than jdt and pippo :dontkn: .eventhough crespo :p157: is not as good as sheva, but he is better than jdt and pippo.it is hard to say goodbye to both jdt and pippo :gun: since they have done a lot for milan.however, from time to time their performances are deteriorating and we should give a chance to crespo to prove that he can do something for milan. :crybaby:

Where exactly is young Pozzi just now?Pippo if he regains his form is Milan class but I'm afraid JDT isn't quite good enough to play for a club like MIlan-I'd take any money we can get for him.

Pozzi as well as Agate are on loan. In Napoli. Maybe he will come some day and will cover the gap which would appear when Sheva retires. ;)

Lets see how Pippo does for the remaining of the season, I swear if he gets one more injury even for 2 or 3 days I will hate hiM! he has been nothing but a waste of space in the squad so far this season!
I really like Pippo, but his injuries are just killing us, I really hope we bring in someone for him (my dream would be Robinho or Cassano or both :P).. Tomasson was so useful last season, but this season, he has been nothing but another Laursen/Simic, just useless..
i dont like pippo as well but its not like he wants to be injured... and as for tomasson well he isnt getting the same amount of chances he had last season and u cannot forget how important he was for us
Tommason was really good last year, not very glamorous but did a decent job. This season he has been appalling and I don't like to see him on the field.
That said, he at least is a different type of striker, I worry that with Gila, Crespo, Pippo and Sheva our team would be too target man orientated.

Tomasson has a nightmare of a season. At the national team he is always one of the best and also scoring goals, but it seems like in Milan he often is thinking to much on the field. He is on the field to score goals and for example against Roma he missed an easy goal, as he was unable to control the ball.
I doubt Tomasson will stay in Milan also next season - but a lot also depends on how much Milan will win. I know he wants to win the intercontinantal cup, so maybe this could be a reason for him to stay :). I doubt Milan will sell him against his will - but if they tell him that he will not get more games next season he will for sure leave.
Yup, JDT is not the one he used to be last season. He has changed a bit. But I know the reason why -- Crespo&Rui. They are usually starting while Sheva is on bench, though in Roma match Carletto gave JDT a chance to proove his quality though as we have seen he hasnt taken it. Sad but true. Maybe Rui would have scored that time. So I also doubt about JDT's capability to stay in Milan next season if Gila is coming and Crespo stays. Although I would be glad if Pippo change JDT on transfer list and be sold next summer, cuz he is estimated more that Denmark international weird ratings :rollani: ]
jdt needs games to improve. he does create space for crespo, as seen in the game against Roma yesterday. and he may be good enough to score against small sides that tend to attack. however, milan players need to be solid and consistent. if he doesn't mind warming the bench then he's an ideal striker - because he is half decent and is patient about sitting out games. pippo on the other hand is a legend and he cannot and will not leave milan :)
pippo on the other hand is a legend and he cannot and will not leave milan :)I do not fancy him at all, though I do not want to see him leaving. But there is one but. We can not afford to leave such stars on the bench, while they can earn us some money by signing another club... :rollani:

we can afford to have such stars on our bench. but it will be a waste to have so many players and not playing them. IMO JDT will very likely leave in the summer.

IMO JDT will very likely leave in the summer.
I agree. I think perhaps JDT needs a change in environment now where there is less pressure on him. At Milan, he must have started believing in getting ahead of pippo last year and then suddenly Crespo arrives and Gilardinho is on his way, resulting in JDT getting snuffed out of the side. This results him losing confidence as he gets less playing time despite doing so well and eventually leads to the problems he has.
i felt bad for the guy yesterday, he was trying so hard but u can notice that he really needs more playing time badly, if i dont play for 2 months and then i suddenly come back ill keep on falling down the way he did throughout the game yesterday, i like crespo alottt and if he regains his old lazio days form he and sheva could be lethal besides gilardino, but one thing you have to remember is that crespo didnt have the best of starts and many wanted him out yet with time and with the power of will he regained his form and s starting to find his touch, why cannot we do that with tomasson? we all know about his determination infact i think only gattuso has more than he does on our team i think, im not saying he should be a starter but hell definatly be a better substitute than inzaghi IMO
He's been given plenty of first team chances this season but hasn't taken them.
Tomasson is a quality player but with the likely arrivals in the summer it looks as though he's destined to leave.
A club the size of Fiorentina or Atl. Madrid would do him good, imo.
he would do well at samp. inzaghi is actually one of my favourite players at milan. i will never ever forget his goal against Ajax in the dying moments of that game, nor will i forget his goal against Bayenr Munich from that glorious cross from Serginho. *melt*
if i dont play for 2 months and then i suddenly come backBasically JDT have played in Coppa matches ;)
PS: I prefer this formation for next season: Crespo, Gila, JDT & Sheva :star:
Basically JDT have played in Coppa matches ;)
Basically JDT played all games in the first fourth of the season ;) Pippo was injured and it took Crespo a while to regain physical form.
Just like JDT played a lot of games last season, especially in the 2nd half.
coppa matches??? puhleez... thats 1 match every 2 months or something... he needs consistency as well! i dont remember him playing at all in the first half of the season... i only remember when he and crespo paired away to messina and he scored 2

i think JDT played above himself last year.I also think he has been below what we can expect from him this year.I was dissapointed to see him come off on Sunday.the game was won and to keep him on increased the chances of him scoring and increasing his confidence again.i'm afraid that on current form he really is not Milan class.

Somehow I am sure that JDT is playing his last season, but maybe not.
It doesn`t make any sense if we buy Gilardino next season, as we than will have 4 world class strikers and two of them on the bench! Gilardino and Crespo wont accept that - expecially not Gilardino who also have to do well to play for the Azzurri.
We need 4 strikers, but a JDT as 4 striker would maybe me the best solution. The question is than, if JDT will accept to play few games even injuries often can mean he will get more playing time
I do not fancy him at all, though I do not want to see him leaving. But there is one but. We can not afford to leave such stars on the bench, while they can earn us some money by signing another club... :rollani:
Inzaghi would earnus nothing.
I am already sure we will have these forwards next season: Sheva, Gilardino, Crespo and Inzaghi. Crespo for me is the most doubtful. Sheva and Gilardino will be starters with Sheva roaming around like he likes and Gila staying in the middle where he do damage.
Saying that JDT have only played copa games is ignorant and incorrect, check up those things before you comment.

Crespo indeed is a big doubt, as Chelsea are loathe to sell him, and would want a fortune for him if we do insist on buying him. Recall that Mourinho even called Crespo after the Man U match to reiterate how much he (Crespo) was figuring in his (Mourinho´s) plans.
The situation is mercurial however, as player power is at an all time high and Hernan may opt to flex his "player rights muscle", and insist on a transfer.
It must be noted that next year is World Cup year, and players keen to make their national teams will be anxious to get playing time. With Gilardino´s emminent arrival, Crespo could (and probably would) want assurances from Carlo or Jose for a starting role, which Jose is in a better position to offer, as opposed to Ancelotti (IMO).
JDT is the least prolific of all our strikers (I may be wrong, but I doubt it...:w155:statistitian in the house?) and though he made an excellent contribution to the team last term, this season, when we needed a forward to fill the gap, he failed dismally.
We therefore need a better player, and Pippo is a goal scorer...there is no question about that, with the head, foot, shoulder, somehow, this match-stick legged Italian just manages to score goals, and that is what we pay forwards for. Goals...simple as that.
If you dont score, you sit on the bench, or leave.
JDT IMO will leave only if Crespo stays...that to me is the crux of the matter.
Personally, I would want Crespo over JDT. Results show that Hernan is a better striker than JDT. Simple.
Saying that JDT have only played copa games is ignorant and incorrect, check up those things before you comment. I do not say that... I have just reminded MK that JDT was not benching last months and not playing at all ;)

I agree with Milan selling Thommason, he is a very average player who doesnt convince in front of Goal (see Roma game), I agree though we need a player like him a forward (or second striker) to give some variation to the front line.
Then again I would be after Miccoli for this position, so what do I know?!
and if any one offers £12m for Thommason Galliani will drag their hand off!!
