We were hacked (the site was not reachable for some hours and you would see the hackers message instead) but managed to bring almost everything back, any other news I have about it I'll post here.

Big thanx goes to Andy (razoruk) for spending many hours restoring MM.

What's important now is that the forums are back online, allthe rest--if something is lagging--will follow. You might understand that we have a few issues to discuss....

I can certainly say I found the timing to be much too much of a coincidence, but the "group" that hacked us was un-root, and I just did a fast search on Yahoo and found a little stuff. Rez had actaully found them in a list yesterday. Just a bunch of bored kids if you ask me.

As I am sure the hackers are reading this thread to see the reaction from us, I have this message:

Touchee! Well done! You hacked us on the eve of most important game of the season so far  Thank you for not messing up our code too bad so that we could get back online reasonably quickly. :)

We won the game however, and regardless of your true colors, we got the last laugh :3band:

I kept getting a screen in Portuguese but as i dont speak the language i've no idea what it said. It does seem a bit suspicious that it happened yesterday though i wouldnt totally rule out it being some of my fellow Utd fans

I took the first paragraph to an online translator, it was some political thing....

Yeah..did the same. Apparently it seems to be some anti-Capitalist message. What exactly a free non-profit forum relating to soccer has to do with the evils of capitalism I have yet to understood.
KUDOS to all you took the time to rectify the problem.

Priority was getting the forums back up and running, I spent about 6 hours getting FF and MM back up. I'm about 99% sure that it wasn't manyoo or Inter fans, just a bunch of bored kids having fun screwing with peoples servers.
The cause appears to be an exploit with the apache webserver that was not patched. I'll be working on that soon so there may be some instabilities over the coming days/weeks just bear with us.

It is difficult to see the side good for invading systems and for modifying pages, but I can say to it... I am the side of the protest, since today very he is said on liberty of speech, however when analyzing the world where we live we can observe that it does not exist if you will not have much money.

In the practical a law alone it functions in benefit of the rich ones and alone it punishes the poor persons. How many times we are judging thieves, but we do not stop to think about the one that took it to make to that, which the chances the life gave to it, for that it already passed?

E because we do not see this! Simply because we tend in them to find superiors to excessively and with this only we judge them. However we have that to understand that "we are constituted" basically the same substance and that the difference is in the chances that we had. Perhaps if I had passed for whom that person passed I could be worse that it, and it until better of the one than I am.

one of our members will definately know, so come on, own up. there has to be a reason, there seems to be no valid reason to hack an innocent forum like this one, i am a little bit curious because it could happen again, How come the Almighty GAZER has'nt figured it out as yet, and is the chat working.

Reza
30-03-2005, 12:05
Hackers are a clever but unemployed and bored bunch :D it doesn't matter if the forum is innocent or not they just like to show off that they can do it.

Chat is there via IRC only (not the link here on top) but the channel is probably unregistered due to inactivity anyhow
