As a ManUtd fan, I was disappointed by the team's performance in old trafford. I think the work rate wasnt there and they gave Milan too much respect and allowed them to play ball instead of bullying them around the pitch. Very poor performances from Giggs and Rooney didnt help either though.
So they start the 2nd leg 1-0 down but at least United have a target in the 2nd leg. And that should give them the much-needed kick in the arse they need. When the chips are down and united need to reach a certain target, they are rarely found wanting.
Granted they are up against a very good side but I'm hopeful. Thankfully, I don't think United could play any worse than they did at Old Trafford. No team in Europe is infallible, each can beaten by the other.
So gloves on AC Milan, its round 2 and hopefully Man Utd come out snarling :noevil2:

Oh yeah my prediction.........I reckon if Utd can score early on it could be a scoreline of 3-1 given the players do their stuff.
More than likely though it will be close affair and Im hoping Utd will squeeze past Milan 2-1 in the San Siro
Manchester tried to press high but they played a team with fantastic ball control.
Milan-Man Utd 2:1
milan 2-0 ... well have sheva back
I'm not sure but it looks you guys will go through.
BUT if we beat you we'll win the whole thing :p283:
1-2 to united so we'll have to beat you in extra-time or penalties.

It wouldn't go to penelties if you won 2-1, due to the away goals rule.
But don't worry with silly details like that, ManU simply won't win at San Siro.

my original predictions were 0 - 0 then 3 - 1 to Milan, but now the game depends very much on Milans approach as Utd have no choice but to attack.
Milan will try and control possesion again and take the sting out of the game but its unusual for Utd to go through a whole game without a chance. My head still says Milan will win but there are enough players at Utd capable of a moment of magic to keep this tie alive :hopefull:
Honestly just can't see united doing it. I think Milan are far too strong at the back for United and the midfield has so much more technique about it when it comes to passing. I think Milan will win 2-0 or 2-1...
United can do it, but only we can loose it. If we go with the mentality do defend we will be committing suicide. If we play to win then we will do it. On paper we are more balanced i.e. we have a much stronger defence

Styles, technically you are right but Bologna won at the San Siro namely because thay are Bologna i.e. a small team Milan hardly took 100% seriously. ManU will not have that advantage and will have a gritty and concentrated Milan to deal with, especially after the "Riazor" affair from last season.
Both teams can win it, they both have qualities enough to go through. I don't think anyone would dispute it. What we seem to disagree on is how likely a ManU win at San Siro is. I would give United a 20-25% chance of going thru.

It's all Milan's choice, To WIN :rock3: or Lose :str: My prediction is Milan 1, Man U 0 or 1. With either of these score lines, Milan Wins!!
I have the upmost of respect for ManU, but want to view thier demise at the SanSari........ Froza Milan :pp20:
6 wins in a row (hopefully 7 on the weekend), 4 clean sheats in a row(hopefully 5 on the weekend). We suffered some serious pressure from Inters strikers and midfielders which should be good preparation for teh game with united :swars: I say bring it on :fero:
Milan 3-1 United

With sheva 2-1 as sheva would score 1 or 2
without sheva ancelotti will play defensively (as he should under the circumestances) and will get a 0-0 draw.
Look at our last couple of games. notice a pattern? no goals conceded. without sheva our tactics were changed and it payed off

especially after the "Riazor" affair from last season.

But consider that if United start well, and get a goal in front early on -- which they should have done at Old Trafford (still dunno how scholes missed that chance), then no matter what team you are......that completely changes your game plan.
That makes it 1-1, all even but with United looking more a threat now because even if milan score 1, if united can squeeze another in........its game over i would think then.
I think it hinges very much on a reasonably early goal for united.

I know all the milan fans feel that their defence is unbeatable at the san siro. Granted its a solid defence but we seen at old trafford that united probably created the better chances despite playing terrible.
And that is united without their target man - RvN who was doing superb in europe again for them. Rooney has talent but not for that position. United will play with 4-5-1 with RvN up front, rooney off him, scholes and keane in middle, giggs left, ronaldo right. Thats as good a balance and shape United have had all season.

my prediction:
milan 1, man u 0.
crespo will score again, if sheva is back, he will score the the lone goal.
THE GAME IS NOT YET OVER.
U BETTER WATCH OUT! :punch:
It is way too tight. Do you guys realise that from a results point of view a
1-1 draw at OT is practically the same as the 1-0 win. Seems strange but Milan would be in the winning position even if they had a scoring tie(ex:1-1,2-2).
The only difference is that Milan now have the assurance that if they concede a goal then the game is tied ! Whereas, a 1-1 result at OT would have meant that if Milan concede a goal at the Meazza then they are immediately in a losing position.
Anyways, I think the key in this is the first 20-30 minutes of the game. If Milan can keep position and avoid conceding chances to Man Utd then the likes of Rooney and Ronaldo will start to doubt themselves.
But if they(Utd) score or start creating chances, then Milan will be in for a really tough time.
Finally, we get to see the opposite of what has really frustrated me this season. That is, teams coming to the San Siro and putting 9 men in their penalty box and defending. I abslutely loved the way the Lazio and Cagliari matches ended.

zlatanov. The only "IF" is if united get an early goal (anything b4 half time would do), it really is game on with advantage swinging in united's favour then.
I don't see how that might be such an unlikely scenario?
Anyways, can't wait for this match. Should be a cracker
Don't forget that Dida and the defense weren't quite up to par at Old Trafford. I'm hoping they'll do a bit better at home. And here's hoping our third-choice striker can still deliver the goods!
I'm another one who's really looking forward to this match. Milan can beat any team in the world. Whether they will is another question. :)

Milan will for sure do anything not to get a goal in the first 30 minutes - but also United will do anything not to risk to much as, if Milan score, have to score twice.
So a very tactical first half and when United start to risk more and more, the game will be entertaining with Milan ready for counters
Grande....your correct...atleast I think so. A very tactical first 30 mins. Both sides will probably be assesing each other's strategy before diving into the game.
Milan's defense was reasonable at OT. Apart from the Scholes and Fortune chances, there wasn't much else that comes to mind. However, when a team plays the Famous Five(Rooney, Van Nist, Ronaldo, Scholes, Giggs), restricting them to just 2 good chances is reasonably good.
There is a cog in the Man U. team...the goalkeeper...duh!
Howard, is now thrown into the first team, after being on the bench for monts. He now faces the prospect of playing in the biggest match of his career and one half of it with the Curva Sud behind him. It will be very intimidating. I think Milan need to make him realise who he's up againt, but be careful in doing so...too many saves for him and he'll gain in confidence...miscommunication, forced back passes, Milan possesion within shooting range and Howard will start to get nervous.
We'll see....
Milan2:0Man
1 for KAKA
1 for Pippo(Hope)
Man U will give more pressure in attack.i think we have prepared it.In this situation,We can focus on Man defense.(at least it will be more easy to score)If we don't lost a goal in forst 30 minutes,we'll control the game again.Just like the first leg,Man didn't have chance to score in second half, while we were controlling the game.
KAKA may score in the first half when Man players attempt to attack.(whatever by counter-attack or something)
When the game goes closer to the end,Sir Ferguson will order more and more forwards come to replace some midfield players or defenders.Pippo will come as a sub and he will have more chance to score.
If we can score earlier than Man U,we have won 90%.
We'll try to strike at very first sec. if we do acheive our point of scoring first for Milan will be fatal coz they'll feel a pressure this is my prediction. Oh I almost forgot 1-3 or 0-2.
Cheers guys and don't take it so serious this game coz someone of you could get a heart-attack as I almost did once LOL.
NiceTackleBoy don't loose you trust coz I'm sure you've seen what we did against Arsenal in second-half so we'll do it again and as the matter of KAKA in some language I have seen at Webster international languages means S**T or DEJECTION so he is in big games.
Milan are a strong side but I don't think there's any team strong enough to withstand us if we play really well. (BOBBY Charlton
hey we can't beat any team in this world, and i can't even imagine man utd winning at san siro, sorry men we are not like dopentus or perdenti FC(Inter).even in your fantasy dreams milan will beat man utd,the worst thing that will happen is 0-0
3-1(Crespo,Pirlo,Seedorf) and one for RVN

I believe it actually works all the way around my friend. I am personally more concerned about how Milan performs than how Man U does. If Milan performs at its usual great level, then there is little Man U can do to avoid defeat. If Milan doesn't perform at its usual great level however, then Man U has a chance, and the only way they can take their chance is by performing especially well themselves. So as you see, you can play really well, but at the end it will come down to how Milan plays....if we are into it, then it's until next season for you ;)

the only weak part of milan is left flank....
pancaro post will be forced all the time by cristiano speed and step over dribble...
big concern for maldini (left side of pairing central defence) and also seedorf to cover that side...
last time i see pancaro in field, he made very very late tackle that bring him sent off...
against ronaldo (manU right winger probably)... really a hard job for pancaro..

word, ..... and then you will know what it feels to be an Inter fan. :w212: :guw:
Wow, koku, I am impressed - you actually deverted from the trend of comparing Milan to Juve and put us on par with the "great" team of Arsenal.
Completely agree with Giorre - it is up to how Milan and not ManU plays the game. Sir Bobby, with all due respect, has watched way too many Portsmouth - ManU games in his life.
My prediction for this game is that, unless ManU scores in the first 10-15 min, Milan will mnage to close down the play with ball possession and this will make ManU very very twitchy as time progresses. In the end, manu will start attacking chaotically and desperately and will be taken on the counter. If this is how the game progresses, I see Milan scoring more than 2 goals and the final result won't be anything close to a "close call."
A tight game would be if ManU scores first, then Milan will have to wait it out and take advantage of their mistakes. I do believe that Howard will have an excellent game and will not ditch it for ManU. I am also sure that it will be ManU's defence/midfield that will prove to be the culprit this time around with all eyes on Brown/Silvestre.
All in all, I expect the usual big-games Milan performance i.e. if something does depend on ManU it is with what result - a loss or a draw - they will leave the CL.
Sorry ManU but your team just doesn't possess the tactical awareness, skill, and mental strength necessary to take out a concentrated Milan team and they will be concentrated given what happened last year in our games vs Depor. :firedev:

i doubt it, we've lost at Pompey 2 seasons running  they are one of only 2 sides we've lost to this season domestically (the other being Chelsea :( )
1-0 United, and we'll score a late Extra-Time winner....
Rooney and Ronnie with the goals
