Lets be realistic: Milan performance in Holland was terrible, the team did nothing except hat lucky goal that worthed getting into the finals. I think the match versus Liverpool is goin to be tough, and the only argument MILANīS players have is itīs history (the old ones).Ithink the match will conclude into a penalty kick deffinition and in that case: COSTACURTA PLEASE POOT YOUR FOOT ON

i think there are already several other threads opened about this maybe you can check overthere!

If they play like in holland they will...doom theirselves...but hopefully they will play smart and keep their heads clear coz you saw that in eindhoven they paniced to much and then it went wrong!

so to the players DONT PANIC STAY COOL..and do what you are the best at and thats playing football(and not fooling around)

The game in Eindhoven was poor, no doubt about it, but as i said in the match thread the game was like that because PSV had a very simple and clear objective they had to score 2 or they were out.

Milan suffered because they didnt have quite so clear an objective, like the first leg second half they werent sure whether to kill off the tie or protect what they had and PSV were bold enough to try and exploit this.

The final will be different because both teams start from scratch, neither side has anything to protect. Also, Liverpool will not be as bold as PSV, they are at their best when defending deep and not forcing the game and they know it. Contrary to what seems to be fairly popular opinion here the English media do not think Milan will be some pushover for Liverpool to toy with :D

Liverpool are still viewed as underdogs and even if a few of their fans think they will win (and to be fair i've not met any i'd consider over-confident) the players and more importantly the management certainly wont underestimate Milan.

Chelsea and Juve failed to beat them because they had the wrong personnel. Juve's attack was skillful but slow and the lack of pace meant Liverpool could hold their defensive line wherever they liked with little threat of Juve getting away fom them. Chelsea failed because they focussed too much on Drogba who's aerial ability beats most teams but not Hyypia and Carragher. Without Duff and Robbens pace they too had no quick outlet.

Milan have Sheva and Kaka who can run at defenders at pace and that should be the key, whether they score themselves or force an opening for someone else

I still think the main reason why they played that badly at Eindhoven is because of tiredness. They look like a tired team and fatigue played a role in their play the last few weeks. If you look at the leagues arouns Europe..Eindhoven had already clinched their league, Chelsea clinched in England and they were way ahead of everybody during the whole year, Barcelona is way infront in Spain...Milan is the only team that can't afford to let up a single game cause they are in a close battle with Juve. I'm sure they felt tired and it also didn't help Juve against Liverpool.

I'm sure if they could find a way to rest and come to Istanbul well rested they won't have any problems.

If we were being realistic we would come to the conclusion that Milan had a bad day at the office and are still probably the best team in Europe and have a hell of a chance of winning another European Cup :devs: While we should be cautious about Liverpool we need not fear anyone :dumpf:

relax ppl MILAN is going 2 win. As far as the game against PSV goes as said by the gr8 gattuso that it seemed as the game was watched from heaven and now we know who they are supporting to win.

one bad game vs PSV in Holland doesn't erase the fact that Milan has reached the semi-finals very comfortably and had to deal with ManU and Inter on the way.
Milan are the clear favourites and anythig else would be a big surprise - you seem to be paying too much attention to the idiotic English media, which has written off Milan after the game in Eindhoven.

I'll bluntly state the answer to the question posed in this thread (and its title)...

"YES!!!!!"

Of course we can.Milan is not an average serie a team with no idea about how cl final is supposed to look like.I think the question itself isn`t appropriate(no offence included). One bad/or two bad games certainly do not exclude( and i underline these words) the possibility of Milan playing brilliant football in the final.Nobody says it`ll be easy, but that`s the way it shouldn`t be in final...instead it should be tough,it should be interesting and we should watch beatiful football in the first place.I`d also disagree with your sentence that our only argument is history!!! If you call history being on top of serie a,winning scudetto last year, winnig cl the year before, and to go back to present... now playing almost every game with such love and giving the best on the pitch, then we have very different views on what history means.

Milan are widely seen as the best side in Europe by the British media, to be honest the only idiocy i've seen so far beyond the Sun (which no one takes seriously ;) ) has been a story about Kaladze joining Chelsea but had a picture of Kaka because they didnt know what KK looked like :D

I'll be putting my money on 2-0 Milan with Sheva to open the scoring.........

offcourse we can.. so suddenly liverpool are the greatest team ever just because they knocked out chelsea?? (thats what the title seems to say) ... milan were tired, we used to play 3 times a week for a long long time, instead in the coming weeks will play 1ce a week and the players should feel less tired because theres a very big difference between playing 3 times and playing once a week nevermind the training they undergo and the travels they take!

Hey all,i have just found this forum.Nice 2 meet u all.
Well i think milan will put a show on like they did in 1994,they will want 2 show the world that they deserve 2 b there and 2 win it,playing the football that we all know milan can play.I live in the uk.All my brothers support Liverpool, and im telling u if Milan play to there 60% capability they could beat Liverpool. As long as they dont allow liverpool an early goal,Milan should win,and if liverpool score, then they will just sit back and take it all in.

even if they sit back milan is bound to score 1 way or the other

The only problem milan can ever face is that if they tire too much and the whole scudetto-and-CL race thing is too much for them to cope with. That doesnt mean that milan is weak as it is a difficult thing to win both things at once. It all depends on how early they can recover. Last time around their seasonal off-form came during the disastrous Deportivo tie... This time around you see Milan a bit tired and playing not as well. But, should they manage (and given the length of time I think they will) recover from the fatigue, the CL trophy will be theirs

Some how or another Milan weakness kinda exposed. By my own judgement, our most important player is our weakest link that is Pirlo. opponent tend to get more players to harrass pirlo to prevent Milan built up play that's where in Juve and PSV match, you can see kaka drop back to get the ball. Apart from that Pirlo is no gatusso in his defensive ablities where that is his main weakness. To tell you the truth Pirlo is a no show in both the psv and juve matches.

Just my two cents thought.

Milan has a lot of probabilities of winning the cup, but if it finds a defensive scheme on Liverpool, it will depend on Kaka to brake that barrier and i don't really trust in that brazilian(and not just because i'm from Argentina and i realy don't like him)

True in the first half, but not in the second in my opinion.

Also, Pirlo is already tired anyway, and he just comes back froom injury. I don't think it's fair now to say that Pirlo is the weakest link.

If Pirlo doesn't seem to pick up the form after 2/3 more games in Serie A, then something is wrong.

Yes in the second half he was taken off and Milan began to attack Juve more.

I hope we have an alternative if pirlo don't perform. Milan don't function well if he is not getting into the game. Hope he will be at his best in the final. :v408:

Milan will charge into the Final and take the trophy home! :p283: Yes, we did'nt play well against Einhoven, and now we fell to Juve, whom we palyed very good against, and Rui Costa, once again proved his worth durring the closing moments.
Liverpool will be tough , they are a great team, it will be one of those tight, really tight games, but I think Milan will prevail.
Then we will all party and sign our tributes to our favorrites!

HI People....a new member here, like the Site , think your team is class as is your club!

We seem to have been labelled as a defensive team, possibly fair enough given our strong performances against Bayer, Juve and Chelski (i almost despise Chelski as much as the Scum from MAnchester). However our best efforts have come when we have attacked, with a high tempo game.Am realistic when i say Milan are the strong favorites , but we have shown we can attack and defend, and we have a very, very good Manager....viva la Rafalution!

Anyway hope we all enjoy a brilliant Final , that the supporters of both clubs make an unbelievable noise (i promise we will ) and that after we are all BEST of friends.

PS.......did i enjoy it when ROMA where beaten twice by Liverpool.....did i ever

Liverpool are an old bag of bollocks. They have neither the imagination or the class that PSV had. They've been fluking it for long enough.
We should play attacking football, as Liverpool cannot hit us on the break at all. They haven't done so against any team all season.

When the last pope died, the corresponding year resulted in Juventus winning the Scudetto (like this year), Inter winning the Coppa Italia (they are in the final against Roma) and Liverpool winning the European Cup (champions league).

And trends can be broken. You do realise people look for these trends as extra moral support from the 'Gods' to ease their minds of doubt. Like, Liverpool have won every CL final playing in red, vs a team playing in white.

The end of the day, the only one who'll stop us winning is ourselves. I have no doubt if we play anywhere near our best we can beat most teams on the planet. The only thing that concerns me is that we are not playing anywhere near our best in the past 6 weeks, due to tiredness.

By most people's admissions Liverpool have been playing well above themselves in Europe. 9 times out of 10 if we played Liverpool when both teams are playing well we would win. However, it would take a fool to say we've only got to turn up and take our trophy. It's going to be a very hard game for us after such a gruelling season.

hahaha! Yeah true, but how many times have we overturned the circumstances when against us in the last 3 years to break bad trends ;)

Its time we did such things again don't you think ;)
