has anyone here thought about how boring finals are from a neutral point of view?
i mean lets look at all the recent big finals in europe
2004/2005 Uefa Cup Sporting: Cska Moscow (1:3) I guess both teams did ok but there were no world class players to make the game a memorable one. i give it a score of 4/10
2004 Euro
Portugal: Greece (0:1) A very boring game as this didnt have the making of a big final. :tired:
2003-2004 Uefa Cup final
Valencia- Marseille  not that great as valencia was much better and it wasnt an even game
2003-2004 CL Final
Porto: Monaco 3:0 Not a very likely final and the 2 smaller clubs didnt put on that good of a show. it was not an even game
2002-2003 Uefa Cup final
Porto: Celtic (3:2) That was probably a good final but there were no real stars on display.
2002-2003 CL final
Milan: Juvenus :3band: :3band: :5schal: we can all agree it was a memorable night and a great win, but it wasnt a pretty game...
2002 World cup
Brazil germany 2:0 The germans never came close to the brasilians.
2001-2002 Uefa Cup
Feyenoord 3-2 BV Borussia Dortmund- I didnt watch the game but i dont think it was a memorable final but still a good one.
2001-2002 CL final
Real- Leverkusen 2:1 other then the zidane volley the game wasnt the most brilliant one.
WILL THIS TREND keep going???
however there is another pattern. smaller teams make it to the finals.
i miss finals like:
milan- real, milan- Barcelona, milan-manchester, milan- chelsea, juventus- real, juventus- Barca, juventus- manchester
Inter will never make it to a final so i can just skip them :nana:
Real- Bayern,,, real- manchester real- chelsea manchester-bayern ETc.. etc..
and in the national teams finals like:
argentina brazil.. brazil germany (however germany at its best not the germany of 2002)... italy germany... italy brazil... spain italy... spain brazil etc. etc. (i didnt mention england cuz i kind of hate their national team).
now we get finals such as:
Porto: Monaco
Porto: Celtic
Cska: Sporting
Portugal: greece
i have nothing against smaller teams, but the big teams are the ones that make the show great.
