Bigger Than You.
If it were not for those who devote their lives, and who often give their lives, for a cause bigger than themselves, the world would be an entirely different place than it is today. We enjoy freedom because so many have served its cause and died for it. We benefit from knowledge, wisdom and faith because of all who have devoted their lives to advancing them.
Each day you have an opportunity to continue that legacy and to expand upon its goodness. When you live your moments in the service of something bigger than yourself, you experience a fulfillment that goes beyond anything you could possibly find in self-centered pursuits.
Take care of yourself, to be sure. That is your responsibility. Take care of your world as well, and make sure to leave each place you go, each person you meet, each moment you live, better off than you found them, better for your having been a part of them. That is the highest possible expression and expansion of yourself.
:1old:
When life comes at you, run out and embrace it. The more enthusiastically and completely you embrace life, the better it will be.
Embrace the beauty, the joy, the wonder and the abundance of life. At the same time, embrace the challenges, the setbacks, the disappointments and the difficulties.
For by embracing life fully, you put yourself in a position to make a positive difference. By welcoming the ups and the downs, you're able to move forward from an effective and realistic perspective.
Certainly life has very real tragedies, yet often what seem to be disappointments are disappointments only because you imagine them to be. When you stop fighting them and start embracing them as part of life's flow, you'll find many of them not to be disappointments at all.
Whatever life sends your way at any given moment is what you have to work with. So embrace it and then set about to make the most of it.
Embrace life, and all the many paths it takes. Embrace life, and those paths will lead where you truly want to go.

Boldly forward
Be bold. There is no guarantee of success, but there is the guarantee of failure when you don't even make an attempt. Though there is no guarantee of success, you significantly increase the probability of your own success as soon as you take the first step forward.
Boldly take that first step, and the next one, and the next. Suddenly the goal looks infinitely more attainable. Suddenly you will know with confidence that it is within your reach.
Be willing to do whatever is necessary. Doing almost everything necessary is not nearly enough. If you're going to make the effort, then make the full and complete effort. Otherwise it's just a waste of your precious time and energy.
There are plenty of difficult obstacles in your path. Don't allow yourself to become one of them. You can meet the challenges, you can overcome those obstacles, you can achieve success by boldly stepping forward. Once you do, you'll wonder why you ever hesitated.

Listen to the silence in between the sounds. And you will greatly improve your understanding of all that you hear.
Experience the stillness in between your thoughts. And your thoughts will have greater power, greater meaning, greater purpose.
Give just as much care and attention to the relaxation between the efforts as you do to the actual efforts. And those efforts will become immensely more effective.
When life gets too far out of balance, it cannot continue on that same path for very long. When the noise, the frenzy and the striving seem overwhelming, direct your focus to the silence, the stillness, the time for relaxation.
Give your awareness not only to the things that demand it. Give your awareness also to the quiet, peaceful stillness from which those things arise.
In between the sounds, in between the thoughts, in between the efforts, the sights, the complexities and the activities, there is much treasure to be found. In between the demands of the outer world, is the inner substance to keep you going.

I am the next Step. :pom:
Reach a little higher today than yesterday. Raise your expectations a little bit more. After all, you're wiser and more experienced than you were even just a day ago. In fact, you now have more knowledge and more experience than you've ever had before in your life.
Even if yesterday was a total disaster, you've at least learned something from it. And if yesterday was full of success, you've learned from that as well. The bottom line is that you're more experienced, more aware of what works and what doesn't work.
So reach higher today than you did yesterday. And resolve to reach even higher tomorrow. As time goes on you're continually growing and improving, so you might as well take advantage of that.
Reach higher, and you'll attain more. Expect more of yourself, and those expectations will soon become your reality. Each day provides ample opportunity for improvement. So expect to improve. And you will.

KhRiS... wtf?
Success rarely comes from making just a few big efforts. Success almost always is the result of small efforts multiplied again and again.
Small, simple acts can reliably lead to big, magnificent achievements. It's just a matter of putting enough of those small, simple actions together in the same direction.
Right now, in this moment, is your opportunity to take one small step toward whatever goal you have set for yourself. In the next moment, there will be another such opportunity, and another and another as time goes on.
Achievement belongs to those who make wise and productive use of time as it comes. Achievement comes from those who understand that small opportunities can lead to big results.
Those small opportunities are everywhere, and you don't have to beg or plead with anyone to give you access to them. You simply have to see the potential they represent, and then take action.
Each time you see the opportunity to take one small step, by all means take it. And soon you'll be racing far ahead.

nice Khris...NICE!!
:nail:
Give, and you will have. Teach, and you will learn.
Listen, and you will be understood. Live with kindness, and kindness will live with you.
Respect, and you will be respected. Be truthful, and it will be nearly impossible for others to deceive you.
Keep a generous spirit, and your life will be filled with abundance. Seek to bring out the best in others, and they'll give you the best that they have.
Give your genuine encouragement to those who thirst for it most, and you'll be encouraged beyond all measure. Speak positively of your world, and your world will be a rich and fulfilling place.
The world you influence with your thoughts, words and actions is the world in which you live. Always be your best, and that world is a great place to be.
-- Ralph Marston
:fero:
The words you use make a difference. When you say something often enough to yourself or to others, it becomes a part of who you are.
When someone greets you and asks how you are, do you respond with cheerful enthusiasm? Or are you in the habit of expressing to others how dreary and uninspired you feel?
It may not seem like much, yet the way you respond when someone casually asks how you are can have an enormous impact on your life. For when you say something out loud about the way you feel, about the way your life is going, it suddenly becomes a part of your reality.
You may or may not believe what others say about you. Yet you most certainly do believe, at a very deep level, the things you say about yourself.
When someone asks you how you are, that person is giving you an opportunity to strengthen and bring to the forefront the positive aspects of your life. Even if you're feeling a little down, just by smiling and saying that things are going great, you begin to make that your reality.
The way you think and talk about yourself will have an enormous influence on they way your life progresses. Take every opportunity to make that influence a positive, enthusiastic and supportive one.

:510:
Choose your path
Your problems are real and demanding. Yet they are tiny when compared to all the positive possibilities for your life in this moment.
You have fallen short in the past. Yet the past is over, and you are free to choose a new and more fulfilling direction, right now.
There are difficult challenges that you now face. And right alongside those challenges, intertwined and intermingled with them, there are stunningly magnificent opportunities.
This is your time to grasp those opportunities. Whatever may try to hold you back is trivial and of little consequence when compared to what you can gain by moving forward.
The difficulties this moment may hold are far outnumbered by the possibilities for achievement, learning, love, joy and fulfillment. Focus your mind, focus your energy on the best of those possibilities.
In this very moment you are free to choose any thought, any action, any path you wish. Choose to step confidently forward on the path to the best place and the best life you can possibly imagine.
-- Ralph Marston
If there is something you've always wanted to do, now is the time to get going on it. If there's someone you've been meaning to re-connect with, now is the time to get in touch.
Because now is when you have the ability to act. Now is when you can do what must be done to turn your most treasured dreams into reality.
Now is when you can get things done. Now is when you can experience the unique richness that is your life.
The desires, the longings, the dreams you have, you have for a reason. They are with you now so that you can make use of this moment to fill life with your own special goodness and value.
This moment is here for you to take action. This moment is yours to fully live.
Now is the time that connects all you've known and lived with all that you can be. You are alive with possibilities, and now is the time to bring them to life.
-- Ralph Marston
Every now and then, on rare occasion, a quick and frantic response is needed. Most of the time, however, a calm and thoughtful response is much more powerful and effective.
Before you respond to life's events, take time to think clearly and calmly about what you are doing. Before you respond to the situations that come your way, take time to remember who you are and the direction you want to be moving.
A frantic, emotional reaction made in haste can often push you back even more than the event to which you are reacting. On the other hand, a calm, thoughtful response can usually bring a positive outcome from what would otherwise be a negative situation.
Certainly it is sensible to respond promptly to whatever life sends your way. Yet that does not mean that you must respond thoughtlessly and carelessly.
Before you say something you could regret for a long time, take a moment to calmly consider it. Before you do something that might take years to overcome, take a moment to thoughtfully consider your response.
A calm, well-considered response is a powerful response. Take time to think, and the way you respond will keep you moving positively forward.
-- Ralph Marston
You live in a beautiful world. The more you appreciate and enjoy that beauty, the more beautiful it becomes.
Beauty is impossible to define and, at the same time, impossible to ignore. You know what it is without having to learn.
Beauty is much more than mere physical appearance. In fact, magnificent beauty can often be found in what appears to be plain and ordinary, when you explore it deeply enough.
Beauty can awe, inspire and astonish. Beauty can energize your spirit in ways that nothing else can.
One of the nicest things you can do for yourself is to give yourself the time and space to simply take in the beauty that is around you. Beauty asks nothing more than to be treasured, and when you let yourself experience it, beauty has much to give.
There is beauty stretching out in all directions. Dive deeply into it, and it will make you more.
-- Ralph Marston
:pom:
Success is not a matter of whether or not you can. For there is no doubt, not even in your own mind, that you can.
Success is determined by whether or not you will. Achievement and fulfillment depend on what you choose to do with the opportunities and possibilities that are undeniably yours.
Will you decide to avoid the best of those possibilities by hiding behind well-constructed excuses? Or will you choose to accept, to make real, and to live the full value with which your life has been blessed?
It is great that you are in a position to achieve so much. Yet it is far, far better when you actually do it.
You have everything you need, right now, to make this very day a day in which your life moves positively and decidedly forward. You have the capacity to dream big, wonderful, meaningful dreams and to make them real.
There is no question that, one way or another, you have the ability. It's up to you to choose to use it.
-- Ralph Marston
When something goes wrong, even when several things go wrong at once, there are still many more things that continue to go right for you. One of the best ways to deal with any trouble in your life is to put it into perspective.
It's easy to put all of your focus on the problems because they often scream for attention. Yet no matter how intensely the problems assert themselves, you always have the power to put them in perspective.
Use the magnificent power of your mind to visualize all the many treasures and blessings in your life. When compared to all the good things, the problems will not be so overwhelming.
And when your mind is no longer overwhelmed with the problems of the moment, you begin to gain real power over those problems. By putting them into perspective, you put your problems at a distinct disadvantage.
It's common to respond to a sudden difficulty with shock, anger, frustration, dismay and a whole host of other negative emotions. Yet imagine what would happen if you were to respond with gratitude, not gratitude for the problem itself but rather for all the good things still present in your life.
With gratitude, your energy suddenly shifts in a very positive direction. With gratitude, what once seemed overwhelming becomes something you can confidently handle.
Decide to put your problems in perspective, and you'll find everything you need to get beyond them.
-- Ralph Marston
:diablo:
As time goes by, some things in life become faded, feeble and useless. Yet the things that truly matter just keep getting stronger and more meaningful.
When you invest all your hope and love in the superficial things that will soon fade away, then you make time your enemy. You become engaged in a battle that you cannot win.
Yet when you cherish life's true, enduring values, your opportunities for joy grow more abundant with each passing moment. As life goes forward, it cannot help but get better.
When you find your fulfillment in truth, in virtue, and in integrity, you set yourself up to gain real value and benefit from every experience. Though life may not always go as you planned or desired, you will always have something real and meaningful to show for it.
For every situation is a situation in which your integrity can grow stronger. Every experience is an experience in which a new and valuable truth is revealed.
Life always has so very much to offer. Treasure those things that forever endure, and your store of treasure will be rich indeed.

1. First Important Lesson - Cleaning Lady.
During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I
was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions
until I read the last one: "What is the first name of the woman who
cleans the school?"
Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman
several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would
I know her name?
I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Just before
class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward
our quiz grade.
"Absolutely," said the professor. "In your careers, you will meet many
people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care,
even if all you do is smile and say "hello".
I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her name was Dorothy.
:pr115:
2. Second Important Lesson - Pickup in the Rain
One night, at 11.30 p.m., an older African American woman was standing
on the side of an Alabama highway trying to endure a lashing
rainstorm. Her car had broken down and she desperately needed a ride.
Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car. A young white man
stopped to help her, generally unheard of in those conflict-filled
1960s. The man took her to safety, helped her get assistance and put
her into a taxicab. She seemed to be in a big hurry, but wrote down
his address and thanked him.
Seven days went by and a knock came on the man's door. To his
surprise,a giant console color TV was delivered to his home. A special
note was attached..It read:
"Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway the other night.
The rain drenched not only my clothes, but also my spirits. Then you
came along. Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying
husband's bedside just before he passed away. God bless you for
helping me and unselfishly serving others."
Sincerely,
Mrs. Nat King Cole.
:pr115:
3. Third Important Lesson - Always remember those who serve.
In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10 -year-old
boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a
glass of water in front of him. "How much is an ice cream sundae?" he
asked.
"Fifty cents," replied the waitress. The little boy pulled is hand
outof his pocket and studied the coins in it.
"Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired. By now
more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was growing
impatient.
"Thirty-five cents," she brusquely replied. The little boy again
counted his coins.
"I'll have the plain ice cream," he said. The waitress brought the ice
cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the
ice cream, paid the cashier and left.
When the waitress came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the
table. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were two nickels
and five pennies.. You see, he could have had the sundae, but he
wouldn't have had enough left to leave for a tip... So he opted for
the plain one.
:v408:
4. Fourth Important Lesson. - The Obstacle in Our Path.
In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he
hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock.
Some of the king's wealthi! est merchants and courtiers came by and
simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping
the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of
the way.
Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon
approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to
move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and
straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load
of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder
had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King
indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder
from the roadway. The peasant learned what many of us never
understand!
Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.
:v408:
Even though
Even though you have every right to be angry, you have every reason to let it go. For when you let go of your anger, you make more room for joy.
Even though your first impulse may be to retaliate, you're likely to be better off when you reconcile and forgive. After all, when you've been hurt, it makes no sense for you to prolong the hurt with your own attitude and actions.
Even though the world is often cruel and unfair, it does not have to get you down. The more fully and willingly you accept what is, the more power you have to improve upon it.
Even though many things will come along that could be frustrating and annoying, you can always choose to respond with patience and with grace. By so doing, you'll be building strength as well as focusing your energy in a more positive and productive direction.
Even though events may not go your way, you can continue to move in the direction of your own choosing. Success depends very little on being given what you want, and much more on becoming the best you can be.
Even though life has its setbacks, disappointments and tragedies, they pale in comparison to the new and positive possibilities that increase with each passing moment. Choose to fully live the immeasurable blessing that is your life, and every day will move you forward.
-- Ralph Marston
:flirt:
Most of the things you worry about are not worth the time and trouble you take to worry. And all that needless worry distracts you from other, more productive, creative and joyful things you could be doing.
With every worry also comes the option to let it go. You can feel the worry, see it for what it is, and then choose to immediately walk away from it.
As soon as you do, your mind becomes vastly more clear and more focused. Your spirit experiences a glorious refreshment.
When your mind is filled with worry, just imagine how wonderful it would be to have that heavy burden lifted clean away. Imagine it, and then choose the simple act of doing it.
Choose to walk away from worry, and lift that burden from yourself. In a moment, your worry can be gone.
Breathe in the sweet, refreshing air of freedom, clarity and effectiveness. Walk away from worry, and walk forward with positive purpose.
-- Ralph Marston
With each act, your confidence grows. Take the first step and you'll gain the confidence to take the next step.
The more you do, the more you'll be able to do. Begin the journey, and you'll set in motion a positive momentum that can surely carry you through.
Effort feeds upon itself. Even though you start small, you can soon go very far.
Though you may not yet have what it takes to finish, you always have what it takes to begin. And from the most modest initial effort, magnificent results can surely and eventually flow.
Whether the goal seems close at hand or infinitely far away, the way to reach it is the same. Take the first step, set the momentum of your action in motion, and grow along with it until you are there.
Be willing to take the first step, then follow where each step leads. And even the most ambitious goal is well within your reach.
-- Ralph Marston
Just wanted you to know KhRiStopher, that your daily posts here are thought provoking and appreciated.....it's nice to be reminded of the little things.
.it's nice to be reminded of the little things.
Is'nt it always the Little things that matter. :horny:
There are things that you can change, and there are things that you cannot change. Both have much value.
The things you can change can enable you to create, to achieve, to express yourself, and to improve the world in which you live. The things you cannot change give you the opportunity to grow stronger, to develop real wisdom, patience, acceptance, flexibility and effectiveness.
There is much you can learn from the things you cannot change. And there are countless ways to positively apply that learning toward the things you can change.
The things you cannot change give you a base from which to work. The things you can change give you an ever-increasing world of possibilities.
When you accept what you cannot change and find positive ways to deal with it, you lay the groundwork for success. When you understand what you can change and find positive ways to put that change to work, success and achievement are yours.
You are fortunate to live in a world where there are things you can change and things you cannot. As each moment arrives, you're in a position to make the best of it all.
-- Ralph Marston
Immaturity is thinking that you have all the answers. Wisdom is knowing that you don't.
Weakness is wanting to control everything around you. Strength is gracefully accepting and valuing what is.
Insecurity is the constant, gnawing desire to have more and more. Confidence is knowing that you already are enough.
Failure is thinking that you can advance yourself by pushing others down. Success is understanding that the more you lift others up, the more you'll be lifted yourself.
Despair is committing yourself to shallow, superficial things that too soon will wither and die. Joy is filling your world and your life with the things that truly matter.
Every moment, you are fully capable of living with wisdom, strength, confidence, success and joy. It's not a matter of chance, but always a matter of choice.
And you can make the choices now that will surely take you there.
